Why do audiophiles use for their audio tests music with only a few instruments? Why? I'm checking their tests, and always use that kind of music... may be a jazz song, with a piano, an acoustic bass, and the voice, or a drum sample.
Check out my videos if you have any doubts that audiophiles listen to any other kinds of music through their systems. Just remember that hearing a voice or small instrument ensemble with the right timbre and midrange purity (among others) is something to be heard and appreciated (and sought after).
I recently purchased a Pass X150.5 for my system. They work quite well together, as you probably know from listening to that system.
