Wow, this car is so impeccable..

But one correction for some of the facts, Like Formula 1 cars from the Fifties, the 8C Competizione has a transaxle setup. **The gearbox and differential are actually housed inside the rear axle**, Not infront, in order to guarantee balance and improve the vehicle’s stability and responsivness. The 6-speed electro-hydraulic Q-Select sequential gearbox has a computer-controlled gear selector using the levers behind the steering wheel.

Even so, Handling is bad.

Alfa's production has been outsourced because it's made from carbon fibre. That's why it cost that much. Add to that cost the engine and the gearbox from Maserati. But who cares... this is already a collector's choice!

It is one engine but tuned different by each manifacturer for the granturismo the 8c and the f430

the granturismo has 400hp the 8c has 450hp and the f430 has 500hp

Enzo ferrari is asking ALFAROMEO to join as a racing team using their car ... in 1932 ALFAROMEO decided to focus on production car , so it gaves ferrari the car without alfa badge ( replaced by scuderia horse logo ) but abliged them to keep the Red alfa romeo color ... :) The 8C is using "modefied" maserati engine ... thats a clever decision , building new engine in current company situation is a desaster .. :)

its not the matter of what is the brand , you should understand that fiat , lancia , alfaromeo , maserati and ferrari are under one group .. they are sharing every thing between themselves ..

for example ,

porsche 911 turbo is using Mercedes benz tiptronic gearbox .

porsche cayenne is using VW gearbox .. also it shares the TOUAREG chasis .

AUDI is making its bodies using BMW factory .

AUDI S8 is using lamborghini gallardos engine ..

I love the way Alfas look; the new baby Alfa is way cute(bit sorry for 8c owners tho. I don't mind if a car uses another cars gearbox or switchgear or has its doors made somewhere else. Very different is when you take a car and rebadge it. Its so wrong on so many levels. Beautiful cars but Alfa/Maserati has lost part of its heart IMO

I dont agree 100% ... if it was 100% including the sound experience i would say its a mistake to have identical engine sound in two luxury car like ( 8C / Gran turismo ) .. but its actualy different .. i had driven that 8C and the Maserati Gran turismo ... the sound differs alot . Also , you should consider the financial situation of AlfaRomeo ... if they were fine , you wouldnt saw that outsourcing .

AUDI using lambo engine ... While its in excellent financial shape .

ALFA ROMEO`s international marketing manager told me that its very under priced , i think its around 55,000 to 60,000 K.D , but its not a well studied price , the new spider will be around 80,000 to 90,000 K.D as they told me .. F1 is very fast when shifting , specialy when you reach the end of the RPM with sport mode " its 0.2 sec " ( Ferrari Scuderia`s extremely fast F1 gearbox shifts in 0.15 sec ) ... its a very very nice Gearbox
