A bit absurd to call her racist after she suggested Affirmative Action as a thesis statement topic! Not to mention having survived a full year teaching ENGL composition 1101 to the diverse “culture of poverty” student base in Albany, GA. I was more interested about why legalizing marijuana was the very first thesis statement topic that she threw out there. But alas, I was never able to engage her in conversation long enough to know the answer before getting thrown out of F120(F) every time !

Um, perhaps the reason the kitchen looks strange is because in actuality it is a CLASSROOM ? Mlle Mensink is teaching thesis statements, NOT how to cook meth on the kitchen stove-top.

I do not think that any of these statements are strong.
For example, #1. Which border? Canada/US? Mexico/US? South America/Central America? For what reason should border control be increased? Because it leaves whatever host country vulnerable to illegal immigrants? Because it adds strain to the social and educational fabric of whichever host country?
Way too many holes in all whiteboard thesis statements -- none are strong enough to warrant an A paper at my university.
