@Jetman9866 Thanks for that I landed a Airbus A380 this morning I don't use the GPS I find it easier to use ATC & the approach speed of a A380 is 180 knots.
it doesnt work, i did everything u did but it dont work. im trying to get from la guardia to newark but it the nav wont engage when i enter airspace, im not gonna do anything more than 50 miles cuz i dont wanna be flying a 747 for an hour
nice video man,.but next time make sure you clear the runway with the tower.cause you were lucky that other plane was flying the other direction and not towards you..
I dont see what I did wrong, i made a flight plan between 2 airports, set cruise alt to 6000, everything was perfect, I followed the instructions given from ATC, flew over every single nav waypoint, and when I got to the final point before entering the airspace of the airport, after 30mins of perfect flight, I changed my headding, and idk what i did, but i noticed I was at about 140kts, got a stall warning, and tired to recover, but it was too late... maby 6k wasnt a good idea.. x.x
@TheKomar3 they tell you "altimeter ______" then you go to that altimeter to align your magneta colored dot and app setting will automatically descend you to the runway so you no longer have to worry about altitude
@diegodaudt The altimeter is the air pressure. "Altimeter 2992" means "Outside air pressure is 29.92 inches Hg", which is normal atmospheric pressure. It is important to calibrate your altimeter to the outside pressure. If ATC gives an altimeter reading, press B to automatically recalibrate your altimeter. Do not climb or descend to 2992. or the normal entrance is around 5,000 ft to 3,000 ft until you catch the glidescope
@local1114 lol I know now. I'm an expert in this game, and I will make my own tutorial. But tutorials like this helped me get into my status :D! I'm also in VATSIM...
Does anyone know why when I'm flying IFR to ATC keep assigning me runways for visual landings ( all at major airports supporting ils) they are driving me nuts!
@RockstarLegend4273 i can't land my plane, through ils........about 4miles remaing to land my plane turned right and make 360 turn, and not land on runway, untill i turned off the approach hold switch off
This tutorial has many gaps and you explained things wrong. (eg. You didn't tell us about the course and you said "knots an hour", which makes no sense. Also you said "carte", but for english viewers it would be "map")
Just one question, when are you starting the ILS approach? When HDG is on the Airplane suddently turns out of the nav line. You know what happens? Otherwise a nice tutorial. Thanks
hey can anyone help??i typed in the frequency and press the hold approach switch, but the airplane doesnt even land itself and even goes over the airport.i checked the frequency, its correct.wats wrong
you selected the approach button to fast... you first enter the ILS code on nav1 and select Nav (nav/gps), then you click the nav select button... it will automaticly line op to the runway, when your localizer is captured, and your vertical diamond is going down... then you select app and the plane is going down...
@abed224 youre sure there IS an ILS? You can't autoland on every runway... you need to have a glide slope... (yeah that green arrow) click on that geen arrow and your heading, ILS and name should pop up...
I don't know where to begin with this,. There are a number of errors in terminology and procedures. First of all your blue lines are not air space but Terminal Control Areas requiring certain equipment to fly into them. Second they are not ILS codes but Radio Frequencies. Third you do not intercept the Glideslope but the Localizer first. Finally one does not sit back and watch but constantly monitors instruments taking control of the AC before reaching minimums which you didn't even mention.
Really seriously how can you say you're desending when you still have your altitude hold button still on does it automatically disconnects? Cause if you have to do it manually, you will not know when to disengage it
When I do exacly what you do, the glideslope dosent capture. the localizer is fine and lines up with the runway but at 3200ft my glideslpe never responds and the altitude hold never turns off! plz help me!
Many thank's for this information, veryt helpful.I usually having a problem with the ILS landing, from now I know and understand how to do it,my approach and landing will more much easy then before.Thank you so so so much, keep up a good work and cheers.
Personally, i dont think that is a very good ILS Approach to learn from. Vertical Speed at touchdown must of been over -500 fpm when it should be between -50 and -250. No flair, many things wrong.

Great Job!!!! Now I know how to set ILS landing correctly but without GPS I arrived near airport on wrong side. Flying with GPS/VFR it's very simple, with IFR someone give to you all information to IFR approach so it's impossible goes wrong. Have you made other video about instrumental flight?
By the way...I would disengage when you were drinking the beer....bring it is on your own from that point or even further....auto spoilers on 15% to fully diploy on touchdown, Backthrust till 60 knts. 747 can land at 160 knts
Well I must say one of the worst landings I have seen. When you land you are suppose to engage spoilers, apply reverse thrust until 80 knots, and then apply brakes.
first of all, it's a guide to an autoland, which has nothing to do with the 'ground part of the landing.. and second of all, it is 60 knots for speedbrakes, and brakes are applied when touchdown has occured, what would be the function of autobrake eeh... ;) now go cry at your mums, and dont try to correct me again, because i estimate my know knowledge about aviation is just a little bit better then yours.
@kemestri speed brakes are used on touch down, it spoils the lift for the aircraft as soon as it touches down and then allows the wheels to have more grip on the runway, you dont deploy them at 60 knots, thats why you arm the speedbreak before landing, check the checklists.
@kemestri Woah, gotta correct you on this 60 knots is only the idlelization of the Reverse Thrust. However speed brakes apply right when the aircraft touches the ground. Brakes apply in at 80 knots, Autobrake is already applied when touched down. Which I don't use
the trick is pitch and power, as soon as you are on the GS, set your power to attain your final speed and your attitude to attain 800 fpm of VVI. If you keep high, increase the VVI and viceversa. Always smalls corrections.
Oke man i can't do this i don't know why but my plain doesn't turn. But i have used your other tutorial for Autopilot. then i need to have the Nav/Gps switch on Gps. but in this video you have it on Nav how to come then in Phoenix. Please help me. i Subcribe when i can ILS land

Dear All,
I have some questions about psychology and sociology:
(1) Why do you love flying?
(2) Why do you like to play FSX?
(3) What does encourage you to share your flying knowledge with other players?
(4) How does peer learning (i.e. learning from one another) pay an important part for player to improve their flying skills?
(5) How does WIKI help virtual pilot to learn new flying techniques?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

this is the only ils auto land tutorial that actually properly tells you how to do it.
all the other ones are shit

Great Job!!!! Now I know how to set ILS landing correctly but without GPS I arrived near airport on wrong side. Flying with GPS/VFR it's very simple, with IFR someone give to you all information to IFR approach so it's impossible goes wrong. Have you made other video about instrumental flight?

By the way...I would disengage when you were drinking the beer....bring it is on your own from that point or even further....auto spoilers on 15% to fully diploy on touchdown, Backthrust till 60 knts. 747 can land at 160 knts
BLUELIONFILMS 2 years ago
Im glad I wasn't on that plane. That looked like it hurt...
BLUELIONFILMS 2 years ago
Well I must say one of the worst landings I have seen. When you land you are suppose to engage spoilers, apply reverse thrust until 80 knots, and then apply brakes.
soccersport 2 years ago
first of all, it's a guide to an autoland, which has nothing to do with the 'ground part of the landing.. and second of all, it is 60 knots for speedbrakes, and brakes are applied when touchdown has occured, what would be the function of autobrake eeh... ;) now go cry at your mums, and dont try to correct me again, because i estimate my know knowledge about aviation is just a little bit better then yours.
kemestri 2 years ago 2
@kemestri speed brakes are used on touch down, it spoils the lift for the aircraft as soon as it touches down and then allows the wheels to have more grip on the runway, you dont deploy them at 60 knots, thats why you arm the speedbreak before landing, check the checklists.

@JonathanLyall That's what I just said to kemistry, He's wrong about what he said

@kemestri Shame, Shame, Shame - manners and politeness above all.
WLH0828 1 year ago
@kemestri Woah, gotta correct you on this 60 knots is only the idlelization of the Reverse Thrust. However speed brakes apply right when the aircraft touches the ground. Brakes apply in at 80 knots, Autobrake is already applied when touched down. Which I don't use

i dont get the radio part. :'( i go to the radios and i try to change it but it wont work in different ways. :'(

so don't you need to set the course of the runway? do you just need the right frequency, and have the APP button on? thnx
Reyno259 2 years ago
well, it's not a 'must' .. it's more for yourself, so you can see your position from the runway..
if you set the course, you'll see the needle line up in the middle when you're exactly in the same heading of the runway,
and the freq should clear the thing, as long you have the right A/P settings
kemestri 2 years ago
How do you set the course?what is the basis?
traineepilot57 2 years ago
@Reyno259 you also need to have your NAV/GPS dial set to NAV.

I'm having problems with the Glide Slope alititude. How can I get the Glide Slope Insterseption altitude? Thanks.
Goldadon 2 years ago
the trick is pitch and power, as soon as you are on the GS, set your power to attain your final speed and your attitude to attain 800 fpm of VVI.

TOMAATenFLAVI 2 years ago
for autopilot, you better use GPS, since you have put your waypoints in the GPS... and for ILS approach you need the button top be on NAV
ILs landing in Phoenix was ILS, so i put on on Nav.. GPS has nothing to du with ILS approach
kemestri 2 years ago
Oke man but now i land next or before the runway
