  • wow, that isn't a soft landing!

  • you are not suppous to land with autopilot lol

  • I keep going up after I touch down. what do I need to do. Do I need press z. Plus. What speed right before I land. 777. I keep it 180. 1/2. Mile. Out

  • "and I'm having a beer", now THAT'S the life!

  • How do you know that you caught the glide slope?

  • Not bad landing for a drunk pilot LOL

  • How can I tell I've locked on to the ILS?.

  • @casperblackcat1975 a morse code noise sounds and you loose all control

  • @Jetman9866 Thanks for that I landed a Airbus A380 this morning I don't use the GPS I find it easier to use ATC & the approach speed of a A380 is 180 knots.

  • Awesome video I can get to the location where I want to fly to but I'm still having trouble landing ahh well I'll just have to keep practising.

  • Wow dude, Ive watched soo many videos trying to learn the ils approach and this one finally worked. You are awesome!

  • thank you very much ?

  • dude your style is awesome, look forward to more tutorials.

  • great tutorial thanks! also you are the funniest narrator, "and i am going to have fun with this" lol

  • it doesnt work, i did everything u did but it dont work. im trying to get from la guardia to newark but it the nav wont engage when i enter airspace, im not gonna do anything more than 50 miles cuz i dont wanna be flying a 747 for an hour

  • A little hard bro

  • i wasnt sure whether u meade it clear or not, but were u flying an IFR or VFR to make this ILS landing.

  • You helped me out:)

  • nice bro

  • nice video man,.but next time make sure you clear the runway with the tower.cause you were lucky that other plane was flying the other direction and not towards you..

you would have killed many people 747 :)

    good job.

  • thanks bro!

  • I dont see what I did wrong, i made a flight plan between 2 airports, set cruise alt to 6000, everything was perfect, I followed the instructions given from ATC, flew over every single nav waypoint, and when I got to the final point before entering the airspace of the airport, after 30mins of perfect flight, I changed my headding, and idk what i did, but i noticed I was at about 140kts, got a stall warning, and tired to recover, but it was too late... maby 6k wasnt a good idea.. x.x

  • FINALLY I CAN LAND THE DAMN PLANE WITH ILS!!!! W00T!!!!

  • cool man

  • How come my plane pitches up when i turn on the approach button and it stalls

  • So when using flight planner, to you need to select direct GPS, or VOR to VOR? with IFR?

  • hello.

can you pleas help me. when ATC tell me "please expedite your descent or climb to 10.000" what s that mean??

beacuse when i go to 10.000 it is stil not right

  • @TheKomar3 they tell you "altimeter ______" then you go to that altimeter to align your magneta colored dot and app setting will automatically descend you to the runway so you no longer have to worry about altitude

  • It's not good to drink and fly man

  • carve it in your little brother??? lol XD

  • thnx men

  • should arm spoliers on approach or full as soon as touchdown, also should diaengage and land yourself as touching down ILS, is more of a slam

  • @RIcciAir how? Is it when it says "altimeter 2992"???

  • @diegodaudt The altimeter is the air pressure. "Altimeter 2992" means "Outside air pressure is 29.92 inches Hg", which is normal atmospheric pressure. It is important to calibrate your altimeter to the outside pressure. If ATC gives an altimeter reading, press B to automatically recalibrate your altimeter. Do not climb or descend to 2992. or the normal entrance is around 5,000 ft to 3,000 ft until you catch the glidescope

  • @local1114 lol I know now. I'm an expert in this game, and I will make my own tutorial. But tutorials like this helped me get into my status :D! I'm also in VATSIM...

  • Hi

    Great tutorial!

Just one question: How can you know what altitude you should bee at when turning over to the ILS system? :)

  • @gufon94 the atc usually tells you

  • Does anyone know why when I'm flying IFR to ATC keep assigning me runways for visual landings ( all at major airports supporting ils) they are driving me nuts!

  • Dear All,

I have some questions about psychology and sociology:

    (1) Why do you love flying?

    (2) Why do you like to play FSX?

    (3) What does encourage you to share your flying knowledge with other players?

    (4) How does peer learning (i.e. learning from one another) pay an important part for player to improve their flying skills?

    (5) How does WIKI help virtual pilot to learn new flying techniques?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

  • @applesweeter

    (1) Hobby

    (2) Gain And Feel The Experience of Flying. althought its not 100% realistic ,

    (3) Learning ILS From the game is a nightmare

    (4) I told You Before, Because Learning From The Game How To Do This Stuff is a fucking nightmare

    (5) There Is No Flying Technuques , all pilots fly under the rules of FAA

If Your not Into This Stuff , Then Cut The Ballshit! Why your even here?

  • @sam9524

You are very rule, Mr. "Ballsuit". What is that? a piece of suit looks ike a ball. It should be "bullsuit".

  • This is the knowledge that I am seeking. Beforehand, I land by half IFS and half VFR

  • this not functual i cannot land heading has its own will

:( fucking shit please help me before my pc flys ^^

  • ballshit ,

  • tits

  • And what about if the airport u are going to has no green landing strips? how are u supposed to know which runway to land on? thanks

  • nice video

  • What did you say in the discription? Me landing smoothly? Smoothly...?? Whaha, where is the "flare" ?

  • Decent video but y didnt u tune the OBS to the rwy course, landing was gear shattering.

  • nice tut bro:D thanks!!!

  • i always have problems with ILS is there a certaint altitude you need to be on?

  • @mephitguy same here.I need to know how and where he got the guide slope altitude

  • @MultiPK786 what do you trouble with?

  • @RockstarLegend4273 i can't land my plane, through ils........about 4miles remaing to land my plane turned right and make 360 turn, and not land on runway, untill i turned off the approach hold switch off

  • thank u sooo much for the video.i appreciate it!

  • @RockstarLegend4273 sir i have always a problem with my game...wuld you like to solve it plzplz plz..............i'm waiting for your reply.......

  • wtf y dont u have fsx in english? fpr the ppl who dont know what "forte" is, it's "map" in the world menu

  • well acctually when the GPWS says minimums bout 200 ft away from Touch down thats when u turn off AP and land mannually

  • flaps should be 8 degree it says on your taxi list and should be when your landing

  • hey, why did you go from 180kts to 190 kts suddenly??

  • Nice tutorial. But if you try to fly with most realistic settings, you will get a "Crash" with landing like this.

  • This tutorial has many gaps and you explained things wrong. (eg. You didn't tell us about the course and you said "knots an hour", which makes no sense. Also you said "carte", but for english viewers it would be "map")

  • Very nice video.

  • Wonderful

  • Eh... I am landing softer without ILS. (but thanks anyway because now I know how to approach with ILS now)

  • @PeterBMXgamer no one can land smoother then the ILS. It lands for you!, till your at the minimum though

  • Just one question, when are you starting the ILS approach? When HDG is on the Airplane suddently turns out of the nav line. You know what happens? Otherwise a nice tutorial. Thanks

  • are u norwegian??? or scandinavian???

  • If youre Irish you may be my friend(: WE PUT THE ISH IN IRISH:D

  • hey can anyone help??i typed in the frequency and press the hold approach switch, but the airplane doesnt even land itself and even goes over the airport.i checked the frequency, its correct.wats wrong

  • @mephitguy GPS is selected? Should be on Nav.

  • Thanks man :D

It realy worked. Now i'm learning my friends (@mnervik) how to land on ILS.

  • In real world you cant use reverst the thurster under 60knt

  • @Haavardgamer Why not?

  • how do you get that camera inside the cockpit? :)

  • Good landing

  • where can i find GPWS for 747?

  • @Oppizen try FScopilot..... dont forget to install FSUPIC

  • Whenever i try to land first of all my plan goes sideways and second my computer freezes :( How can i fix those things?

  • you selected the approach button to fast... you first enter the ILS code on nav1 and select Nav (nav/gps), then you click the nav select button... it will automaticly line op to the runway, when your localizer is captured, and your vertical diamond is going down... then you select app and the plane is going down...

  • i cant see the ILS frequency on the airport

  • @abed224 youre sure there IS an ILS? You can't autoland on every runway... you need to have a glide slope... (yeah that green arrow) click on that geen arrow and your heading, ILS and name should pop up...

  • @abed224 not all airports have ILS

  • do you have to use heading?

  • i dont think that was a smooth landing..... -.-, u should never be a pilot m8

  • I don't know where to begin with this,. There are a number of errors in terminology and procedures. First of all your blue lines are not air space but Terminal Control Areas requiring certain equipment to fly into them. Second they are not ILS codes but Radio Frequencies. Third you do not intercept the Glideslope but the Localizer first. Finally one does not sit back and watch but constantly monitors instruments taking control of the AC before reaching minimums which you didn't even mention.

  • do you activate the Nav1 Radio in the lower part of the radio stack ? or do you leave it off ( unchecked ) ?

  • "me landing smoothly..."

what? That was a rather rough landing. You should take control when you reach your minimums

  • very nice tutorial.

This tutorial helps me very much!

    thanks!

  • i put the freq and the heading then activte the freq , then nav switich , then app and nothing happiens what iam missing ?

  • Really seriously how can you say you're desending when you still have your altitude hold button still on does it automatically disconnects? Cause if you have to do it manually, you will not know when to disengage it

  • When you are at an altitude of about 4,000 your speed should already be at about 160 knots

  • I just tried this. The autopilot didnt desactivate the altitude hold switch and i just flew over the runway :D. I did something wrong ?

  • 'Oh, we got some traffic!' Contact ATC in the future!!! ;-)

    BTW, nice SMOOTH landing. NOT!

  • kphx is phenox sky harbor

  • yu are my new hero!! Great video

  • Great video man!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • It was quite a hard landing actually :)

  • When I do exacly what you do, the glideslope dosent capture. the localizer is fine and lines up with the runway but at 3200ft my glideslpe never responds and the altitude hold never turns off! plz help me!

  • @Agentvader i have exactly the same problem !! HELP

  • how do u get the altitude where the ILS will intercept?

  • you didn't even set the course and you came too fast

  • isn't there course heading for the runway in the b747=??:S

  • Many thank's for this information, veryt helpful.I usually having a problem with the ILS landing, from now I know and understand how to do it,my approach and landing will more much easy then before.Thank you so so so much, keep up a good work and cheers.

  • Hi it`s a great video. I have a question. Can you sent me an E-mail and tell mi when I must turn off the height on the autopilot. Thank you.

I`am sorry for my english.I`am a german Boy.

  • Personally, i dont think that is a very good ILS Approach to learn from. Vertical Speed at touchdown must of been over -500 fpm when it should be between -50 and -250. No flair, many things wrong.

  • How do you get the sound as real world pilots, that starts out at 100 ft, then 50, 30, 20 and 10 ft above, and how do you adjust the treshold. I have seen a Decision Height something in 737, is that the treshold?

  • @peterfender92 that's called GPWS! ground proximity warning system

only available with PMDG md11.. and is not installed on FSX standard...

you definatly should buy the PMDG MD-11 if you want most realistic flight conditions

  • @kemestri Not really, you can just buy FDC Live Cockpit X or FS2crew

  • @kemestri thx for the tut its really good.. but 1 more things need to be more cleared . when my plane touch down the ground ... what i must to turn off on the auto pilot settings and what first to be turned off.. cuz once i touch the ground the planes goes crazy and start trying to climp again....

  • @kemestri but you can use fs passengers x and it have the GPWS. Great video

  • @peterfender92

You have two options for that:

    1. PM Sounds; very basic, gives you a few extra sounds FSX does not have.

    2. FSPassengers; payware (but also available for free (check Youtube)), let's you fly airplanes with passengers in it and crew, that means you will also get safety announcements etc.

For installation just type in on youtube: How to install ...

  • @peterfender92 get (fs passengers x)

  • @peterfender92 There is a free program u can download called FScopilot. It will give you those altitude callouts in any plane in FSX. Its freeware.

  • @peterfender92 You can also install FS Copilot, it has universal GPWS you can get instruction to install on internat. After installation, when doing flight select FS Co Pilot and click on GPWS and select the options you want

  • is there no COURSE-heading on the B747??

  • Did you just say carve it in your little brother O.o thats horrible XD

  • I wouldnt use FSX default aircraft to simulate an ILS maybe for a CAT1 or maybe just a CAT11 but no flare is included with this software, nor engine retard or spoilers.

  • Thanks!

  • thx alott!!

  • i love u man... in my 5 years watch the youtube, this is my first time give a comment..

    thanx 4 the tutorial!

  • thx man great best ever!!!

  • what is the right alitude? is it always 3200 feet?

  • @MettHlX make it 2000 ft above ground

  • @MettHlX

It is different depending on what airport you are landing at. If you are doing and IFR approach, the ATC will give you the altitude.

  • lol

im having beer and its really good

  • very very helpful thanks!!

  • where is the carte

  • where did you find the carte

  • THX THX THX because of you i can land really good :D thx i think i will post a video in a few days :D thx mr7426

  • @Mr7426 really?? send me your video link...i want to see how u did

  • @GrudgeFudge oh du sprichst ja deutsch xDDDD egal es kann noch dauern ^^ hab pc verbot sry

  • hey awesome tutorial on tha ils system. i just have a quick question. i hav done the landing quite a few times now and it is all good works fine. however on some occasions i dont seem to catch the glideslope and the aircraft just maintains the set altitude of 3200 ft. any ideas on what errors i might be doing? thanx

  • awesome tutorial thanks soooo much

  • Very Good!!!! I love that you summarized everything at the end of the video. Sub.

  • I didnt get anything (no offence at least you tried).

Can you explain every detail for me or upload a "noob video".

    Plz answer quickly!

  • NICE!

  • this is the only ils auto land tutorial that actually properly tells you how to do it.

all the other ones are shit

  • Great Job!!!! Now I know how to set ILS landing correctly but without GPS I arrived near airport on wrong side. Flying with GPS/VFR it's very simple, with IFR someone give to you all information to IFR approach so it's impossible goes wrong. Have you made other video about instrumental flight?

  • awesome accent and good tutorial

  • If the plate says 111.700 is it 111.70 too?

  • yep , and 111. 255 is 111.25

  • By the way...I would disengage when you were drinking the beer....bring it is on your own from that point or even further....auto spoilers on 15% to fully diploy on touchdown, Backthrust till 60 knts. 747 can land at 160 knts

  • Im glad I wasn't on that plane. That looked like it hurt...

  • Well I must say one of the worst landings I have seen. When you land you are suppose to engage spoilers, apply reverse thrust until 80 knots, and then apply brakes.

  • first of all, it's a guide to an autoland, which has nothing to do with the 'ground part of the landing.. and second of all, it is 60 knots for speedbrakes, and brakes are applied when touchdown has occured, what would be the function of autobrake eeh... ;) now go cry at your mums, and dont try to correct me again, because i estimate my know knowledge about aviation is just a little bit better then yours.

  • @kemestri speed brakes are used on touch down, it spoils the lift for the aircraft as soon as it touches down and then allows the wheels to have more grip on the runway, you dont deploy them at 60 knots, thats why you arm the speedbreak before landing, check the checklists.

  • @JonathanLyall That's what I just said to kemistry, He's wrong about what he said

  • @kemestri Shame, Shame, Shame - manners and politeness above all.

  • @kemestri Woah, gotta correct you on this 60 knots is only the idlelization of the Reverse Thrust. However speed brakes apply right when the aircraft touches the ground. Brakes apply in at 80 knots, Autobrake is already applied when touched down. Which I don't use

  • i dont get the radio part. :'( i go to the radios and i try to change it but it wont work in different ways. :'(

  • how do you reduce the thrust or reverse from gate?

how many steps on ILS approach

  • Mooie tut man, erg duidelijk!

  • so don't you need to set the course of the runway? do you just need the right frequency, and have the APP button on? thnx

  • well, it's not a 'must' .. it's more for yourself, so you can see your position from the runway..

if you set the course, you'll see the needle line up in the middle when you're exactly in the same heading of the runway,

and the freq should clear the thing, as long you have the right A/P settings

  • How do you set the course?what is the basis?

  • @Reyno259 you also need to have your NAV/GPS dial set to NAV.

  • hard landing

  • I'm having problems with the Glide Slope alititude. How can I get the Glide Slope Insterseption altitude? Thanks.

  • the trick is pitch and power, as soon as you are on the GS, set your power to attain your final speed and your attitude to attain 800 fpm of VVI. If you keep high, increase the VVI and viceversa. Always smalls corrections.

  • Oke man i can't do this i don't know why but my plain doesn't turn. But i have used your other tutorial for Autopilot. then i need to have the Nav/Gps switch on Gps. but in this video you have it on Nav how to come then in Phoenix. Please help me. i Subcribe when i can ILS land

  • for autopilot, you better use GPS, since you have put your waypoints in the GPS... and for ILS approach you need the button top be on NAV

ILs landing in Phoenix was ILS, so i put on on Nav.. GPS has nothing to du with ILS approach

  • Oke man but now i land next or before the runway

  • two two zero knots an hour?
