Heard a sermon of his that made no sense that was about music. He ended the sermon by saying God gave him a revelation on a verse in Revelations that in the end meant God is saying "go to hell" if you read the Bible and continue to sin. Maybe I just heard the wrong sermon, but it was far to biased on his opinions and opposite of many teachings in the Bible to believe he can do any more than that.
@Matclip but he also talks about the necessity of not just reading one verse of Scripture - but of taking two verses so as to have a balanced understanding of Scripture(in a similar way that a bird can only fly with two wings). I can send you this sermon (it's a written one) if you like. Or else I'm sure you can find it on the Christian Fellowshup Church (India) website. By the way, all his books are there for free download, as well.
@Galatians514 Any true minister should have a balanced understand of Scripture. I don't doubt that he has a great balance of understanding, but that in the case of his sermon on Christian Rock music, I believe he lets personal bias come into his teachings. Shining light in a dark place is very important, and Christian Rock music is one of the best ways that it is done. I'll stick with Dr. Michael Brown.
@Matclip The revelation I have received in regards to music being used as a tool to minister the gospel is this, it is not. It is being used to replace the gospel, confidence has been placed in the method and not the message or the power of the Holy Spirit. We now believe in order to reach people we have to be relevant in regards how we present the gospel, yet the scriptures teach the preaching of it is what He has chosen, the foolishness of preaching not beats or methods. I doubt it is a bias.
@HannielTV The revelation that I have received is much different. First of all, music is not being used to replace the gospel, that is merely an opinion. Christian music might use the gospel to inspire the lyrics, but they are not by any means trying to replace it. I don't think it is so much as being relevant to how we present the gospel as it is putting the gospel in something that we love (music), and people enjoying the Holy Spirit in art. If you don't like rock, then it's easy to be bias.
@Matclip Every artist I know says they use the music to minister the gospel, whenever you hear an interview about it the usual response is hip hop or rock is the language of the youth today or it is needed to "reach" people today because that's what it being used in the world and what they understand now again I agree with scripture the gospel is the power of God and the Holy Spirit draws men unto Christ not a beat. That being said be led by the Spirit.
@HannielTV Music is not a language, the lyrics maybe, but not the music. Just as the change of transportation and the general way of living has progressed through the ages, so has music. Modern music (rock/hip hop) has it's place among all things just as much as you typing on a computer to communicate a message. I am an artist and I enjoy the energy of rock music, as well as jazz and many other music types and I would not say that in an interview. It doesn't apply to me.
@Matclip I never said it was an language but it does carry a spirit so whatever music is used must be approved by the Lord so listen to what ever you like but be led in your listening by the Spirit. This applies to ALL who proclaim Jesus as LORD.
@HannielTV So are you telling me that the Lord doesn't approve of rock music? Can this be found in the Bible? Didn't think so. I mean, I could say that the Lord doesn't approve of cars because of what they do to the environment, but I doubt you would stop driving them. It's all drawn from opinions, and not Scripture. Lets not over-complicate things here and try to enjoy things that are of God, rather than pick them apart to find things that "could be" wrong according to whomever.
@Matclip I already stated listen to what YOU like but be led by the Spirit what else do you want? I don't care what you listen too nor am I trying to convince you of anything so enjoy. You can't find approval of Rock music in scripture either so let's not use such illogical examples.
@HannielTV No need to get hostile, but you did in fact say music was being used to replace the scripture. I am only defending music in general. It's not illogical to say that the scripture approves or doesn't approve rock music considering my original comment was on that which he preached a sermon about. You are all in all right from your comment just now, be led by the holy spirit...by all means. Sorry if I've offended.
@Matclip I was not nor have been hostile. What I said was is music is being used as a TOOL to MINISTER the gospel, not replace the gospel and that it is NOT a tool to minister to the gospel. Preaching is the method God has chosen to deliver the gospel not music. Nothing clever about plainness of speech telling the truth, no suggestive music to sway a person, no enticing beat just words of truth seasoned by the Spirit. Defending music in general? Why? I don't understand the need to defend music
@HannielTV I can quote where you said "it is being used to replace the gospel", but I follow you. Music is in itself an art that was created by God, and so why would I not defend it? Why would I speak against using a form of art to praise and worship God? What you are saying is entirely an opinion that you have formed on God intending for peaching to be the one and only way of delivering his message. If need be, I will paste Scripture where God was praised with music.
@HannielTV People find truth in everything. If it were based on preaching words alone, then why is it so many have been saved by seeing the joy in a man of God and wanting to be in those shoes? Or by reading the Bible alone, without ever being preached to. Or those that were at a rock concert without expecting lyrics from this sort of band to move them so much. It opens doors to possibility. It's breaking barriers that God asks us to chisel at so that He can fill their hearts.
@Matclip All I'm saying is that God hasn't chosen it to preach the gospel. He has chosen the foolishness of preaching, no hype man, no persuasive beat, no pretty girl no fritz no frills just preaching. Now does that mean a song is incapable of conveying the message God chooses to convey, no. Is it His authorized choice for us to make music to try to win the lost, no. I Don't believe music was ever design to be a tool given to the sinner but for the edification of the Body and to praise God
@HannielTV There is no talking to you. You have not answered my questions with any facts from Scripture, and you just keep spouting out your own ideas that you have formed from...well...who knows. As you say though, it is no matter. Peace.
@Matclip what question did you ask? I only kept responding to you to clarify things you were saying I said which I wasn't and to be clear to anyone who might be following this conversation, for their benefit I chose to be as clear as possible/ I am not aware of missing answering anything you ask but I certainly tried to clarify everything you misunderstood or misinterpreted that I said.
Thank you for sharing this video. I really enjoy Pastor Poonen`s sermons & I recently was blessed by hearing his son`s sermon & his son is a beautiful reflection of his father.
@psk6565 Exhaustive meaning, long long wordy? No of course not. But Complete doesn't mean it will be exhaustive/wordy either. Complete Gospel can be not short exactly, but not 2000 words either.
Believing is not Repenting. This is the most damning falsehood ever taught.
James 2:19 You [believe] that God is One, you do well, the demons Also Believe and shudder.
So the demons believe, so they Repent? No, may it never be. They shudder for their belief is not Followed by Repent/Submit.
@Qaill1 John 5:24 "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.
I am not discounting repentance but believing God is One and believing In Christ as Master, Savior and all that He is, is different that just believing God is.
@psk6565 This still doesn't substantiate you last comment. Again, Believing is not automatically inclusive of Repentance. And as one must see, the Repentance must be done within oneself or there is No Salvation.
You refuse to read the James verse for it's counsel as well. The Word is Full Counsel, and your comment about believing and verse that only confirms the Believing (like it stands alone, but it doesn't) is not Full, it's Part.
"Believes Him" means All He teaches, Esp Repentance.
@psk6565 You tell me. Who was He speaking to? What was their issue with Him? Was it that they didn't teach/believe Repentance OR was it that they didn't "Believe" He Jesus was God/Messiah? Remember FULL Counsel, & 1Cor 9:22 applies here. Jesus knows Full Word.
You're digging your argument hole deeper, excluding the Essential parts of Salvation. Easy Believism is the damning gospel (No Big G) of today; "Just Believe, have faith in your faith"
@daril638 You don't see what I'm saying. They way man uses "believe" in context, in this generation, IS "knowledge" They're used as synonyms for intellectual or mental understanding or comprehending. I'm not sure then what you're getting at, or just don't understand what I'm saying.
Maybe this'll help you understand what I and His Word is referring to:
So, you "believe" He is Savior? How do you know you "believe"?
@williamstdog9 Honestly, I believe Zac Poonen is like a modern day Apostle Paul. The way he carries himself is very intune to the fruits of the spirit and his age and length of time he has walked w/ the Lord has made him well-rounded in his preaching & teaching.
Paul Washer & Tim Conway are very passionate about the Lord as well, but they are not as well rounded as Zac Poonen and have not been baptized w/ the spirit nor can they speak in tongues as Zac can.
I attended his church for years. There is absolutely NO grace. There is sin-consciousness, emphasis on doing what is right, and an obligation to accept what the elder says as final and binding be it being asked to abstain from communion or being labelled and judged as "worldly" or "carnal". I am so glad God opened my eyes to the truth, now I have found grace and am free from the condemnation and bondage I experienced for years as a church member there.
peace be unto us all. love thy neighbor as yourself says the Lord.

He says nothing about Repentance, not one word. Says nothing about the Law that brought him to Christ.
Where does the Bible say to "Pray this prayer to be Saved"?
Where does the Bible say "Ask Jesus to come into your heart"?
FYI: Mental and/or Emotional pointing fixation on anything, Right God or Wrong religion, Does Not make you a member of that.
Pentecostal Religion is not wrong because it doesn't "fulfill our personal needs" is because we are to Filter it with Scripture & see Falsehood

Acts 6:31They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household."

Repent: Ezek 18:32, Matt 3:2,8-4:17-11:20, Mark 1:4--Verse 15 "REPENT [and] believe in the Gospel"
Mark 6:12 "they preached that men should Repent"
Luke 3:3 "Repentance for the forgiveness of sins" 5:32 "but sinners to Repentance"
Luke 13:3,5 "unless you Repent, will all likewise perish" not Believe or perish
