Female or not, when giving an non-experienced shooter a loaded weapon, it's a good idea to only give them one bullet the first few shots. Then only 2 or 3 the next few times. Then when they are comfortable with the weapon and it's features/recoil/etc, go with a full mag/clip. This is a typical scenario that leads to injury.
