  • danng, you would make my papaw think he was an idiot.

    Your so into technology...

    unlike like most older people.

  • Oh, that Bob... "servicing the ladies". *tsk!

  • I've often thought of starting up a "keeping yourself safe online" conference ... one of the places I spend a lot of time at has a forum that I started, that discusses "online safety". The site's main focus, though, is geared to people who are animal lovers ... If you want to know more, please send me a private message and I will send you more info.

  • sorry I missed this Peter....I need to show my parents so they too can learn

  • rock on, old dude. your quite reasonable, your kids must be very proud of you. I wish my peeps had some of your skills. U made my day

  • i love seeing older people who understand computers this is awsum

  • A true inspiration to the whole community

  • keep it up you rock

  • nice

  • Excellent! Great to see you giving something back to the world! I love what you are doing, and I congratulate and thank you

  • Very good work. A true inspiration to the whole community! Peter's a wonderful guy.

  • trust me, its very VERY hard to COMPLETLY break a computer beyond all repair shot of taking a sledgehammer to it =D

  • i could use a normal hammer

  • wonderfull advice Peter with regards to the mouse! Its so true -just keep opening and investigating thats how i learnt.I had to close it down on numerous occasions-and it is like you say it fixes itself!Your doing wondefull work encouraging the elderly -the comp world is sooo wonderfull.

  • Crongratulation Peter!you became very famous!i think because you also are a very good person,i like your calm, your way of speech, and your british accent it's pretty perfect!!go on with your videos!

  • Peter, wow your computer is so good and your webcam picture is amazing haha! HURRAY i get to see you so clear now. Im catching up on these videos yey!

    Alanna xxxx

  • America itself doesn't have an accent O.o

You must mean the 10(at least) different accents that comprise America.

  • everyone has an accent. you just don't notice it because you've been hearing it your whole life.

  • Britan also has about 10...

  • Amran8888

Which american accent? Must be nice to be racist and be hated by lots of people.

  • Americans do have accents lol, if you go to england lots of people will laugh at your "accent"..

  • Been to america a few times, And it seemed almost every state i went to had a different accent, And for England, I've been there and no one laughed at me, I may be Canadian, My accent is probobly exact as The most common American accent.

P.S. I wish to go back to england someday, I loved it!

  • Seconded.

  • ISN'T NICE hey

I just received an e-mail from my grandmother who's 98

Keeping the communication going regarless the 10.000 miles that separates us until we meet again which shall be soon I hope.

Say, if you ever decide to visit Niagara Falls let me know our doors bw always open to you grandpa!

  • lol dont yu just want to hug him?

  • What do you say yourself on your channel? "You'll be blocked for insulting." You're a hypocrite and an idiot. What is the point of insulting an innocent man who makes videos that many people watch and like? A man who's done a lot for this site? You're a coward. You ask people not to insult you then you come here and write a comment which is pointless and merely puts light onto the fact that you're an idiot who can't even grasp basic manners.

  • Peter, you show us in an impressive way that being up-to-date and being brilliant has nothing to do with one's biological age.

Instead, there are poeple at the age of 30 who are dowdy. And people at the age of 80 (like you) who are modern, open-minded, capable of learning more and more every day, keeping pace with the modern and more and more complex world.

Thank you! Your three kids must be very proud of you.

  • my favorite video by you. although it's pretty tight.

  • lol 'hello youtubers'on every video

  • Yeah, I love that. It's comforting, somehow. Peter is the heart of YouTube!

  • Ah, I wasn't clear... what I meant is that Peter saying "Hello, YouTubers" is comforting to me. I'll say again, our dear friend Peter is the heart of YouTube!

  • LOL edub

  • Excealnt video. Your a great guy and a good help to people all around the world. Could you please tell me when thehill88 is coming to your house and is Boh3m3 coming?

  • Peter, where's your apple mac? Is it the one your recording from?

  • I use VOIP to prank call people, I should be ashamed, I'm 21 ffs lol.

  • Yes, Mikel4321, you certainly should be ashamed. Glad you can admit that. Now if you'll back that up with a change of behavior, you can be proud of yourself.

  • this video made me happier than i've been all day. i only hope that the ladies at the assisted living home took notice...but considering Grandpa's manner, i'm sure some that some of them did. dead brilliant!

  • Geriatric, you just have to change your pc's audio settings to record from your mic and speakers/headphones. Then record the convo from your pc using a sound recording device. and get your video making software to add that sound file to your video.

  • That slightly orange keyboard has clearly seen brighter days

  • > That slightly orange keyboard has clearly

    > seen brighter days

    LOL! ;-))

  • Hello, you are very clued up on computing. I just love the way you explain everything so clearly.

    Chellbie xoxo

  • What A Wonderful Thing To Do.....I Am 57 And Trying To Learn New Things. I Hear That If We Continue To Use Our Brains To Learn New Things We Are Less Likely To End Life With Alzheimers. My Husband Before His Death From ALS Had A Speech Computer To Talk For Him.

    Thank You

    Roberta

  • Me too! Not only is the internet NOT a realm only for the young, but isn't it great to hear about older folks' lives?

  • It is great to see older people joining in on the fun and I love the way that u are using the technology. Your video and sound quality is very high and I'm sure you will learn more about video editing as you go along so you can add in the other features you talked about. keep up the good work.

  • hi

im new to your videos but your great!

  • Hey, I really think its great that the older generation is getting with the technology race as well the youngsters! But just one question. How can you have a movie longer than 10mins? Also Windows come with a Very easy to use Movie maker which I think you can get to grips with very nicely! Thanks for the video, keep posting more!

  • What a Ledgend Im Subscribing this guy is quality

  • you're voice is so hypnotic

  • You Rock! But, LITTLE VIDEOS??? lol

  • You rule!!!

    Make mooooore vids!!

  • enjoy servicing those ladies =]

  • I'll second that. LOL.

  • lol you are cool. I have really enjoyed watching some of your videos. well i'll go now so you and Bob can "service" them females haha *wink*

  • my freaking stupid microsoft computer crashed 9 times. i spened 1600 $ to fix it for nothing, its broken, i hate microsoft/windows

  • u r so kool and so nice !! to thumbs up!!

  • Pcs and Macs both crash, just PCs crash more due to bad coding.

  • i assume ur a retiree and wonder if vlogging and chatting to peeps around the world gives you the enjoyment to replace the personal necessity to be needed as in the workplace (not that any of us like the workplace but the need-to-be-needed aspect of human nature may keep us tickin for a greater duration) - too, i feel like i've seen/done almost everything in 32 phenominal years and i want my best to look forward to, what do u do to fill the meantime in retirement besides web activities?

  • Me I don't work and I'd like to die the sooner the better. I'm happy not to be needed either, I'm so happy to be financially independant because I'd hate it to have to work to eat.

  • Your A Great Person... :) Keep Up The Videos xxx

  • This is a brilliant idea! Well done for proving that the elderly can use computers too!

  • neat fellow see ya around.

  • I heard in the news about you, so I came to see some of your vids. You are really a great man

  • I agree

  • you are a great person dude !!!

  • I enjoy watching these videos and think you are a true inspiration to us fellow YouTube users. Peter, you are amazing. Keep up the outstanding work. Very well done.

  • you should really get a mac ;)

  • GROSS

  • macs suck ass. they always crash and if apple wants more people buying their shitty...dare i say "computers" they should lower the prices. Dells are much better and don't crash as much as macs

  • i hae a mac its never crashes you arse

  • RESPECT!! DO you know the meaning of the word. This gentleman is 79, I wonder if when you reach his age, you would have done Half the things his done in his life, which includes perfecting the computer at his age. These kind of remarks really get me worked up. Granddad does not deserve this kind of treatment. He is gentle and a true gentleman!!

  • Of course macs crash, they're computers you twat.Macs and P.Cs are both computers and they both load and complete huge calculations which you never notice you ass.Infact I'm regreting buying a Mac now, It's cost me £150 repair work when I have only had it a year!,I had my Dell for about 5 years and it never broke down.

  • every new mac has a 1 year warranty when you buy it from apple. you can extend that warranty for a couple hundred bucks. i recently found out that my macbooks ethernet port was not working, all i had to do was bring it to the Apple store and in a few days they repaired it for free.

  • *Clears throat*... I own both a ibm thinkpad and a ibook g4. The ibook tends to never crash unless I try to play the odd corrupted video file, in which the mac os x platfor itself doesn't crash, but rather the program. Dells? Well for one, they don't offer very much control over hardware, they're "dummy" computers with bios controls and everything closed off to users. Macs have a powerful gui interface, and yes, they can do spreadsheats and calculations too you silly little twit.

  • Once you go mac, you never go back. The best software companies make their own hardware. Apple only has to code their software for their machines, so they can perfect it. Micro$oft on the other hand has to code Windows for hundreds of different computers. So instead of getting a OS that runs perfectly on your computer, you get one that runs very poorly

  • "The best software companies make their own hardware."

    Uh...evidently not.

And Windows has been very solid and very stable since XP. You can't just say "it runs poorly" when in the vast amount of cases, it doesn't.

  • i have been using macs my entire life, and so far i have used over 10 on a regular basis and i have only had one crash. all that i had to do after that crash was reboot the machine and presto, it was fixed and everything was back to normal. PCs on the other-hand have a far more notorious record of crashing. Hell, bill gates was showing off windows 98 live on tv and it crashed.

  • Peter, nice to meet you! I'm going on 67 and have been involved with computers since 1985 and the internet since 1995. Computers are absolutely fascinating to me as well.

Best of luck to you and many blessings.

  • My fathers 69 (im 20) I have never been able to get him any where near a computer. I wish he was as tech savy as some of these other Youtube golden oldies.

I must admit he hasn't gone gray or much other signs of aging yet so he probably wouldn't be able to pass himself off as being to old on youtube. Hes gotta start aging one of these years.

  • Dear Peter, I discovered the amazing & wonderful Zimmers in April, & now you around a week ago.I live in the US but my late Mom was English. She'd be almost 85 now, & passed on 10 &1/2 yrs ago.I miss her very much, but U make me happy

  • Geriatric1927 RULES!!!

  • This is great!

  • Lmao, some where between your ears... lol

  • haha, this is excellent.

  • you are so cool! and the audio was perfect.

  • Peter you are a legend! Makes me happy.

  • ur sooo cool i'd love to be ur grandson.Ur much better than my mum at computing as she doesn't know how to turn it on!

  • nice video ! keep up the great work

  • Wow! You are doing better than my Mum, and she's only 65! It's also great that you are encouraging others your age to do likewise. You seem to have got the hang of voiceovers, congratulations!

  • You could get some speakers so we can hear him/her, and you can talk to him/her in the microphone.

    Keep up the good works.

  • I admire you for your courage and determination.I think it's great that you are willing to try out new technologies. Good luck with your progression. Love the title as well!

  • great job on the blog, youve got a lot of courage to take on the beast that is the internet, especially webcams, you tube and blogs! ive got a lot of respect for you. my nan struggles with basic emailing. so congrats and keep it up. =)

  • In my opinion, I think more older people should be on YouTube! I'm going to persuade my grandmother to make an account maybe! Ahaha

  • Keep it up :)

  • you are great. Cadwch y gwaith da i fyny (keep up the good work)!

  • geriatric1927 you are amazing do you know that ??

i mean this, yes you are an old man but you are very very cool :)

  • never too young for.... servicing ladies.... i mean computers. hahaha Way to go Peter. You're my hero

  • This guy is the superhero for all people who say "I'm too old for computers".

  • love these videos

  • Hello Peter, I wanted to let you know what your doing is excellent and very generous. I have helped teach computers to elderly people after school in a program called Computeers. It was all voluntary and it was the best learning experience for both of us.

  • So nice to here a giggle and a rich laugh out of you. Thanks for all of the videos and please keep it up!

  • Wow, to think I'd forgotten about the good old restart. Fixes anything you can do to a computer unless you've got a hacker in there. I guess there's a problem with being a techy. I get to caught up with my complicated solutions that I forgot about simple restarts.

  • WHOOOOOOO PETER I WUV U!!!!

  • hey i love ur videos so much check my out and i hope u like as much as i like yours lol keep it real!!!

  • the only problem I noticed with you is that you talk a lot and ramble on and on! It's hard to see what your point is. I guess most old people are like this though, so it's ok :P

  • you seem like an extremely nice man, i hate all the people saying bad stuff on your videos, but they dont rly matter you have many good coments. your great

  • I love your laugh, Peter. I love listening to you while I iron clothes. You take the drudgery out of my most dreaded task. You're an inspiration; I may post a video one of these days.

  • Awesome. You're a great inspiration for those eldery people who just want to share videos like you.

  • Hello Peter, I haven't watched any of your videos for a while, but I am glad to see you are still having fun making them. This video is interesting, I think it's great for older people to get to know their way around computers and the Internet. It really gives them the chance to communicate with people in different places, and of course their relatives. :-)

  • Good video and valid points made about elderly and the use of computers, I agree, more elderly people should get to know computers and use them.

  • That is a great tip about starting off with games like solitair or doing jigsaws. I wish I could convince my in-laws to have a go, but they are quite stubborn about not wanting such a "beast" in their house - hehe!

  • That was great! If only we could have heard them though. Oh well. Maybe next time

  • I love the service line :) i almost fell of my chair :)

  • What is funny is that my grandmother is actually better at using the computer than my mother. And my grandmother doesn't even speak English :)

  • Thanks for making the time to talk with my computer user group, you really inspired them to go on to greater things. I had considered sending you some sort of reward but it seems Bob got there before me. I hope you are up to it, there an energetic group.

  • Sounds like you're doing some great work Peter

  • a true british hero!! rule britainia!!

  • i love your wallpaper

  • Peter, that is just too cool for school.

  • Geriatric, I sent you a message yesterday, but it was not put up; so will try once again. YOU & the Zimmers were on ABC eve news last eve & I like to have had a

  • you're one of my heroes

  • YOU HAVE A LOVELY SPANISH ACCENT..love alex

  • Spanish?

  • Now that's stupid, I speak spanish and the way I see it, he sounds just like every other American, no spanish accent or anything like that -.-

  • Funny, because he's english :]

  • much respect to you peter, fly the flag well!

  • I love you videos, your very wise and know how to make good videos, keep it up

  • looking well in this video. Good to see your spirits up.

  • You have got to be the popular youtube-personality with the lowest hate-comment rate these days, and right so!

  • I am so proud of you - thank you for being my adopted Grandad.

  • hey man ur nicee

  • Peter, I love what you do. I'm concerned about you -- I hope you are getting enough sleep. You look so tired. (I miss your wallpaper...) Thanks for all you do.

  • and my 38 year old husband thinks he's too old to use a computer (I told him he was nuts)......talk about terrified!!! You are an inspiration for ANYONE who thinks they can't learn computers!!! Kudos!!!

  • kool dude

  • hi peter. i am very touched. i am 22 years old and my dad celebrated his 75 birthday this year. the age difference is a bit unusual i know ;-) all i want to say is thank you so much. it is SO good to see that even older people can get in-touch with computers and technical stuff. please keep up your youtube hobby, you are a example not only for older people but also and especially for us younger people! bye :-)

  • You are such an interesting man...I'm subscribing

  • Peter, I live in FL. Just saw you and the Zimmers on ABC News, the hightest rated TV news in the evening. Showed my wife... hey, there's the guy I always talk about. She loved you.

  • This is a great initiative. I've been thinking of getting my grandmother set up with a computer. I live in another country and use Skype and MSN a lot to chat with my parents, but so far I've been confined to 'snail mail' with my grandmother.

  • Saw u on ABC nightly news:)

  • Greetings Peter. It is so amazing the contacts that these means of communication bring to us. I grew up with amateur radio and have a lic and still think it is quite amazing as well. Live each day. It's really a fantastic world.

  • Hello Peter

  • Gj Peter, you remind me of spiderman, expect you doesnt use your net to swing around buildings. :P

  • Hi Peter. I made an irreverant response video to the Zimmers video (I'm a washed up comedian of sorts.) Someone from the BBC documentary just called to see if they could use a short clip of my YT video shot off the screen. I said yes, of course, and am extremely honoured to be included in this project in a very, very small way. Good luck with the launch of the song!

  • Is that a cry for help, twisteddds?

  • Oh, you'll be old one day..

  • You are amazing.

  • what a wonderful program in the retirement home. This could help people all over the world stay in touch with their loved ones. Thanks for sharing this!

  • Peter, regarding voice/video recording while using skype: If you are using your Mac, find "ecamm" by aid of google, watch out for their Call Recorder - it may help, there is also the

Conference Recorder that works well with Apple's iChat ...

  • I agreee , too, Peter.

  • You just bring smiles to my face

Thankyou and I look forward to your next video

  • I want you to live to a hundred or more Peter! Talulah

  • Great success on another great video Peter, awsome work ur doing working with others on Computers, Great work again and hope to see more vids from ya :D

  • Good to see you enjoying yourself Peter - and great to see some of the important work you're doing. You're becoming such a good role model for all ages. Well done and thanks.

  • Hello Peter, what a lovely video, you have a wonderful laugh :)

    much Love to you.

  • I agreee 100%

  • No headphones!

  • My aunt could use a friend like you. So many your age can make friends this way. You are doing such good things just being you.

  • I am impressed with what an excellent communicator you are, in opening the eyes of others in your generation to the benefits of modern technology. Well done, sir!

  • The quality of this video is one of the best I've seen - even in full screen mode! Internet Grandpa rules!!

  • right you are!

  • you are an inspiration

  • I agree with you on that note :-)

  • Great job! I really enjoy your videos!

  • Your Wonderful Thanks

  • Hey :). Just to let you know, you can maximize the webcam image on skype so we can see these people better from your webcam. Just wanted you to know. Wont bother explaining how its done, I'll let google or your own brain work that one out. Its easy :).

    Enjoyable video :).

  • FANTASTIC Peter - Well done - glad the Mac is working.

  • that is so interesting man!!! it's like you have lots of things to do Peter, i wish you to have good luck :)

  • A YouTube hero.

  • Great stuff Peter! Your own talk show host! I quite agree with your comment about "use it or lose it". Good for you and keep up the good work.

  • this is sooo great to watch.

  • Yay Peter woohoo :D I'm in middle of my exams taking a break to watch your new video good to hear you will be making more!! take care x
