  • maybe the silvia driver is a granny shifter. i cant see how the silvia would get the lead then give it up half way..... i would understand if the type r took off first and the silvia wheelsinned and never caught up......

  • s14 and dc2 are a close comparsion, why compare two cars out of a difference range such as s15 and dc2, its like putting a s15 against a nsx, would u think thats fair?

  • spot on. its a comparison test. though the FR silvia is heavier, it has way more torque than the dc2 to be able to pull ahead and still the NA (let me repeat Naturally Aspirated) FF DC2 manages to win.

  • I myself own a 91 180sx from japan (imported) I would love to own these integra type r, first awsome fwd performance it really cant get much better and the b18c5 in it is flawless, the car is just really nice looking too in that white color, but they are exxxpensive even still today

  • the honda enthusiasts can always make a come back like why not get top of the line silvia (2.0L stock) to go against the integra DC5 with stock K20a powerplant (2.0l)..

    this is one of the reason why i hate watching those videos from japan.

  • correction on the first comments..(i meant he DC2 integra) the power,weight,traction..(especi­ally traction!),gear ratio,etc etc.. the s14 or s15 has the same powerplant but s15 has 6 gears but that doesnt always mean its good. :) and its a 2.0L against a 1.8L integra!!

  • this is an old video. the DC5 type R is not the 98 model bcos it has 4.4Final Drive ratio. where as the 98 model has better FD of 4.785.

    anyway,why do u wanna argue over something like this?? only newbies would argue over this shit!. there is so many variables to how the car run faster or quicker.

  • Power to weight is the key. The Integra R only weighs 1080kg. Its a shame you won't see many cars like it nowadays. All the new fwd hatches, coupes weigh 1300kg +. most like the astra,focus,mazda are 1400kg.There just wasting that extra power and it makes them crap to drive.

  • FWD without turbo, it's like building up muscles and strength without steroids hahaha. The NSX isn't turbo tune, and it's still fast for a Jap car

  • First off, this is an old video Secondly, the TypeR is a 98 Spec and they only made S14 up until 99 when the S19 came it Thirdly: the Type R isnt racing a S15 because it didnt exist yet Fourthly: FYI the 98spec Type R tranny is a S80w/LSD and the SiR has a Y80 And lastly, here are specs for a S15-R Inline 4 Cylinder DOHC Turbocharged 6 speed manual 1998cc 250bhp at 6400rpm 202 lb/ft at 4800rpm 0-100km/h: 5.6 seconds

  • This vid is not about which is faster, itr or silvia, it's showing how good engineering can make a car perform better with less power or less displacement.

  • thats a top of the line model of the integra, he should be racing against a top of the line silvia. But anyways he beat the nissan, but this is a good example of how good is to have close gear ratios

  • in its not a top model integra you ass, thats a dc2 the "top model integra" is the 2005 honda integra type R" they make it only in japan, here in the US they bring a slower model with similar body called RSX type S.

    The Silvia has more weight.

  • the type r motor has high compression, meaning its gets more power but strains the engine more...thats why they make 200hp from a 1.8. So when you think about it, civics lose all there purpose besides being light cars
