The jazz piece is not Moonlight Serenade unless it is so jazzed up I can't recognize it. The psychobabble was a little pretentious but I do agree to the lifelong effect combat must have played in Lee's life. I can only imagine how serving as a sniper and being wounded with most of your outfit killed must have traumatized him or anyone.
this is the first time i've seen this interview, it is 'holy grail'...i'll see it again, i'll treasure it...in a world of phonies, the real deal is right here...all of it....
Hell in the Pacific is one of the best films I've ever seen. Why did it bomb? As with all great films that fall at first hurdle: the pollution of "current affairs".
It will be recognised - and pretty soon, I reckon.
I absolutely hated it, and thought it was thoroughly misconceived. Boorman was clearly out of his depth. He also wasted the talents of two of the greatest actors of the time by failing to give them any interesting characteristics.
That would be me! I'm the end of the line, I better have some kids.
I can't believe none of Lee's own children are in that "reunion," just Pam's. And what is this "settling down" business? Pam was his second wife, and he'd been raising 4 children for fifteen years.

Why tell me?!

You mentioned it, so I'm offering a contrary view. Not too grievous an offence I hope.

Lol, of course not. I was just curious.
Sorry you're not a fan of this flick ;)
Stay well, textthing.

I like this biography on Lee Marvin. Does anyone know the name of the jazz song that starts playing when Jim Jarmisch starts reading the diary?
rebelshotmedia 3 years ago
