I hope Sony puts this on the PlayStation Network as an import. I could use a bunch of CDs to experiment with the custom stage mode, including ones of, like, The Beatles, or Elton John, or The Eagles.
@waaahoox2 The part that scares me the most is during the tutorial and the level complete scene where Vibri is singing her Japanese dialogue. Something about that computer autotuned high voice really gives me the goosebumps!
@kris836018: with a regular PS2 controller. Only four buttons are used in the game; the L and R shoulder buttons, the X button and the down arrow on D-pad.
they seriously should make a remake for the ps2 n 3 though if u can find some one selling the original or if u already have it (like me) it works on the others (ps2 and 3) but if u can they should make another but the remake has to be EXACTLY the same or im gonna have a bitch fit! lol im a total die hard fan of vib ribbon lol every song i love and i can pass each level 100% lol :D
I heard they were going to at some point, and put it on the PS3 shop, im not sure if they still will, But unless u already know, there is a Vib Ribben two out already, Look it up, i don under stand what u do in it thu.
You can't steal something from a game that you invented. Frequency, Amplitude, Karaoke Revolution, Guitar Hero, and Rock Band are all Harmonix games.
Guitar Freaks was doing the "notes come down the screen and you strum along on a plastic guitar" concept back in 1992. Only difference is Guitar Freaks has 3 fret buttons, and Guitar Hero has 5. Harmonix even pays royalties to Konami for the concept.
Technically yes and no..red octane was the producers and creators to guitar hero until harmonix took em to court...in the final release of GH it was Harmonix + red octane release
Umm... no. Hamonix is the developer and always has been. Red Octane was the publisher and maker of the guitar peripheral.
Red Octane has never been a game developer. Their only other game industry involvement besides Guitar Hero was publishing In The Groove, which was developed by Roxor Games, and making the dance mats to go along with it. They are not in any way a game developer.
That's an awesome video for that game. Thanks for sharing it! If you like that game, I know you'll love Halo 3. I'm getting my copy of Halo 3 for free at halo3.wantsDOTit(replace DOT with .) I also get a free xbox 360 elite system.
Everyone better go get there copy for free too, before it's too late, at:
Ah, I love Vibri! I played this game over and over again at one stage, trying to get high scores on the Gold course. A perfect run isn't easy! I think I only managed it once.

There is a sequel of this game on PS2 called "Vib-Ripple". Check it out. Oh, and a spin-off called "Mojib-Ribbon" on the same console.
devonjames10 2 years ago
@totaly666viral13: two sequels were made on the PS2; Mojib-Ribbon (released in 2003) and Vib-Ripple (released in 2004), but were Japan-only releases.

I think Guitar Hero stole this idea.
Kavinel 4 years ago
Actually Beats for PSP "stole" the Vib-Ribbon concept of letting you use any song for a level.
Guitar Hero stole their concept from Guitar Freaks.
KabutoHunter 3 years ago
technically guitar hero stole the original concept from frequency...they just figured Lets use a guitar with 5 buttons for frets
