  • You couldn't shut up the other people in the room?

  • le estas haciendo un efecto ventana en el talon...

  • Next time tell your students to STFU!

  • This is the BEST plantar faciitis tape video on the internet! I do this tape job FLAWLESS cause of you! and I always go back to this video for reference! Great instructor!!

  • what does this do exactly???

  • @Simpsonsruleable she said it was a girl ^_^

  • the audience are noisy though...

  • Great video.

  • how often do you have to change the tape?

  • a waste of tape and there is an easier way to tape for pf

  • @tdwains If there is an easier way, why did you not explain it or post a link to it? I'd like to see an easier way.

  • I like this video. I try this. Its work. less pain Thank you very much.

  • This really works!! The position however is extremley uncomfortable but the pain goes! :)

  • she looks like sarah palin.

  • @ 3 minutes the teacher is covering and lifting up on the wrong side of the arch. There is an efficient technique and this is not one of them, in my opinion. What does UCFV stand for?

  • @cheeks0420 So what is an effective technique?

  • @brianengland01 Now that I review my comment I didn't mean any disrespect by it. Everybody has there own style and technique to tape jobs, I just learned it differently than the way this teacher is showing it. at 3:00 she begins to cover up the braces medial to lateral when it should be done the other way. The arch tape job is meant to support the arch.

  • @cheeks0420 I don't have a video myself but the best example to show the correct direction of closing up the arch braces. Maybe one day I will post up videos of myself performing my tape jobs.

  • PCHS Sports Medicine Tear drop / Arch Tape job

  • good tape job except that when you pull medial to lateral in the closing strips (transverse strips) you are actually reinforcing the flattening of the arch. It might be good to try pulling from lateral to medial to help lift the arch. just a thought.

  • Wow! Thanks for this. It was really informative. I'd like to do this on my own and your video will be my guide!

  • I just practiced taping my own foot and it went pretty well. I will have to perfect my technique a litte -- it's a bit different when you are taping your own foot, but the arch felt very supported by this method.

  • Relief at last ! Thanks for the video.

  • How does this help treat plantar fasciitis?

  • It doesn't treat it, taping supports.

  • does this help if the fascia is torn?

  • Helped my PF, fighting in judo injured my foot so I use hockey tape. its sticky and stays on during class and is easly removed.

  • I did this when my foot was first injured. It saved my sanity. I had to do it for a couple of weeks. I was able to tape my feet myself.

You have to be careful with the tape. The wrapping tape can rip out any hair and bits of skin. So, if you have any hair on any part of your foot, I'd shave it before doing the tape. Some tapes warn, on the boxes, to not apply to an area with hair.

Also, any ripples or bumps in the tape job cause pain and blisters later, so it's got to be super smooth.

  • Now if I can just do this to myself.

  • shouldn't all taping be lateral to medial for plantar fascitis

  • anaelastic tape for Plantar F. is different. Kinesiotape for pf is different. I think there are so many techniques to put the tape correctly. I prefer another technique that is easier than this one

  • Great help! to bad the video was filmed at the DMV. :)

  • This has helped me so much! Thank you!

Can you tell me what kind of tape you use? I've tried 4 brands and none of them rip. I have to cut them and the scissors keep gumming up. Thanks again!

  • THATS ZINC OXIDE TAPE.....hope that helps

  • Thanks! We go t zinc oxide tape, but it doesn't rip, Do you know the brand name?

  • I used "sports tape" it has to not stretch.

  • use the sports tape from a sporting goods store. Same stuff they tape hockey sticks with. It's fabric, tears easily, but sticks well and comes in fashionable colors, lol.

  • good technique, i like it.

  • I have flat feet, and I remember a brazilian podiatrist doing this to my feet. My feet felt they were in their natural form and felt supported. Can someone like me do this as a quick fix at home?

  • I've done it for myself... but the problem CAN be severe enough that it doesn't work

  • I bet he was getting a little bit of wood whilst Sarah was doing that...

  • If you suffer from PF this will bring some relief !

I was hurting for almost 20 days and i decided to do the tape job before i go to work and have it all day... i did help a lot!

    Thanks for the great video!

  • Omg, it totally looks like sarah palin. At least she doesnt sound like her

  • Remind me..lateral to medial is outside to inside? And what kind of tape?

  • I bet that feels divine.

  • great video ! is that Sarah Palin?

  • How long do you do this for to get results? I'm in a lot of pain and I've heard the shots are painful. I'm lucky I'm not on my feet all day, but I do walk around enough that after an 8 hour work day I just want to put my feet up and take a bunch of pain pills. (which usually don't touch the pain anyway)

  • Shame it was filmed in the middle of a cafe eh?

  • the covering-up strips should always go from lateral to medial and you should never put down your tape roll to pad the tape down with both hands.

  • Comment removed

  • force lat to med = possible supination.

it won't happen though becuase it dossn't go across either the subtalar joint where the inversion/eversion occurs or the talocrural joint where the flex/ext occurs therefore no pronation/supernation will occur.

and you always stick your body against the sole of the food when you tape to keep it pronated.

by pulling from lat to med you help hold the falling arch up instead of pulling it further down. it does give a pretty good pressure this way.

  • what does it matter if you put the tape roll down?? It's not required to be sterile.

  • Nice video,I had my rt foot taped before and it helped a lot. Then I got a cortison shot in my heel, 2 1/2 yrs. later I got two shots on the same month and it helped, but not enough. I have inserts, now because of the inserts I have a pinched nerve on my heel. My Dr. said that 3% of people that get inserts, also get a pinched nerve. I'm still in pain, this sux!

  • Wow this is exactly what i am looking for my injury i got two weeks ago. Thanks for putting this up this video helped alot.

  • would this be a better choice then orthotics?

  • lol how is she taping it so perfectly? every time i tape, its to foldy and messed haha

nice vid, it helped me :D

  • This gal is an A1 taper! She can tape my right plantar facia anytime! I wish I could get her to tape it now so I can go to work tomorrow. I got a cortisone shot to the heel, 5 pokes!,two days ago.

  • does it hurt because I'm thinking about that option

how often do you get one?

  • It hurts like hell! I had to bite down on one of my leather shoes. I first got 5 shots directly in the bottom of my heel. It helped for about 3 weeks. A couple weeks later I got another one this time from the side of my heel. That hurt like hell as well each time. Just 2 days ago I got 2 more shots on each side of my heel, bit on my leather shoe again, HURT like hell when the needle tip is right at the tendon connection to the heel bone.

  • how does this look uncomfortable..lol its like sleeping on your stomach with your legs hanging at the end of the bed..NICE TAPE JOB..this really helped

  • for how long i keep it?

    Thanks :)

  • what kind of tape do they use?

  • PF tape is done prone if, the person can tolerate this position. It allows the tape job to go onto the foot in the most beneficial way(it re-creates the natural arch of the foot when relaxed. This way and you get a better fitting tape job).Absolutely you can do this tape job supine & I do that with my elderly clients. It is usually done this way because it is easier for clients because they don't need to hold their foot flexed which can be exhausting for clients.

  • why prone when you can do it in supine position with legs dangling at the edge of the bed..look its ver uncomfortable to the patient & the pt
