  • much underated group, they made some brilliant songs from a brilliant decade, i was so glad to have grown up in the 70`s.

  • @Gyphia …and no trousers half mast, showing their boxer shorts. Ah, the '70's! It was a far better than it is now, bar the food and the beer:- Watney's Red Barrel, Watney's Party Seven and other fizzy garbage. Let's jump into my old car and go back in time…

  • @NCW250 If only!

  • Nice Jewish boys from Prestwich.

  • @muzqu extremely talented ones at that :)

  • @muzqu Except one.

  • @muzqu Except Eric Stewart. Lol Creme called the band "3 yids and a yok"!!

  • Man, I love 10CC!

  • Great group,Great lyrics.very underated

  • @Gyphia Very true, although, I'm a modern woman...I'd like to think I have class (unlike the Barbie girls you mentioned.)

  • Raare between all the bands i know after 1965 and iI prefer the punk is still 10 cc coming up.Dont know why but I think they make real music.

  • Brilliant!!!

  • I THINK, After some McCartney??

  • Graham, please come to Austria !!

  • Graham Godley and Lol Creme at their best!!!!

  • @Davyallnighter Graham Gouldman. Kevin Godley , Lol Creme.

  • Graham Godley and Lol Creme at their best!!!!

  • GREAT ENGLISH GIRLS

    NOT A SLAG IN SITE

  • Indeed it is :-)))))

  • Graham Gouldman and Kevin Godley wearing watches whilst performing....Now thats something you don't see very often ;-)

  • @Gyphia Yeah! Thats where i found mine ;-)

  • All these years later and it is now apprent :

10 cc blew away all the UK 70's bands......

Simply amazing... artists.... and the BBC has forgot about them and worships mediocrity.

  • Not that great but on well

  • Love it!! 10 ***********

  • Beatleque....huh?

  • WE WERE INTO OUR LIVES LIVING AT FULL!

Which means: studying hard to get somewhere huh!...

  • @swisstication smf. u know where i am.... take care.

  • very good, thumbs up for these boys (then).

    Thankz for the post.

  • um.

  • I think Eric is the was the cutest guy of all and he still is. I love the way he dresses and .... my god soooo lovely.

  • I don't like any of their music really. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their music with A PASSION. They are wonderful and uinque.

  • 10cc r sooo wonderful that I wish I can go see them right now.

  • Were Graeme Gouldman and Jerry Seinfeld separated at birth?

  • @bazza1966 :Apparently I am not the only one who thought that.

  • you may have evolved in dancing but you havent in music this is a different league to todays rubbish

  • I remember loving this as a nipper. Parmesan was privy to the epicures back then so my lyrics were ''served up with Palmers&cheese''. I never asked what a Palmer was incase it was rude!

  • Comment removed

  • Eric was so cute!!!!!!!!!

  • they were great weren't they?

  • The Best!!!!!!!!

  • @Nellie062 yes!!!

  • @Nellie062 they still are! i saw them a month ago. really awesome!

  • Bloody hell, Lol Creme was rather handsome. Not to mention a helluva songwriter (although they all were, weren't they?) Bring back 10cc mk1!

  • なつかしい、人生は野菜スープ。Gizmo

  • What masterful written lyrics. I wish more bands were as creative as 10cc was.

  • I wonder what the end of this song is like..?

    Oh well...

  • i don't get it......oh well.........i imagine on a certain drug with a certain girl it could be great maybe.

  • Can't help thinking this is mostly Godley & Creme style. They have the best song title in history :- "I could eat sandwiches of you"

  • @popitinpete - much of the song is written by Lol Creme, so no surprise really..

  • does the drummer always wear that shirt with his own face on it?

  • I'm not gay. But damn, Graham Gouldman is hot.

  • Life is not a Minestrone! and 10 cc would do well to remember that! Life is in fact a Box of Chocolates,as expressed by the Bard Himself in 1432. Clint Eastwood also makes a reference to minestrone soup in the movie Debbie Harry.

  • All I can say is thank god we have evolved from that kind of dancing.

  • Hahaha I wholeheartedly agree xD 'Evolved'!!

  • MINE MINE MINE MINE STRONE....

  • What a classic. 10 CC were out there with very smart lyrics and catchy verses....two best tracks this one and I'm Mandy.

    good Post.

  • I remember these guys from my childhood(I was 12 when this particular gem was released...and I remember it WELL!)...They went through a few name changes before this: Hotlegs and Rameses were two that I can recount...They have to have had the most surreal lyrics writers since the mighty Frank Zappa...

  • Eric Stewart (from a BBC Radio Wales interview): "We'd finished in the studio, Strawberry Studios, we'd finished recording and Lol was staying with me at the time, Lol Creme, and we were driving home and listening to BBC radio and this guy says 'mmmrrhhr mmhmrmr strone' and Lol says, 'Did that guy say life is a minestrone?' I said I don't know but what a great song, what a great idea for a song, what a great title.

  • Life is a minestrone, isn't it. It's a mixture of everything we pile in there and of course once we sat down to start writing 'Life Is A Minestrone,' well, what's death? Death's got to be a cold lasagna, you know, 3 days old, stuck in the fridge, you don't want to eat it, and once you get on, on a roll like that about food and, and feeling, we had it written in a day.

  • there s a lot of talent on that stage.

  • It says this was preformed in 1975 but the little info box in the video says there best selling album was in 1976?

    How is that possible?

  • It's possible because this is from a later re-broadcast.

  • This was the "Monday Song" for WLAV FM in Grand Rapids, Michigan 30 years ago. Haven't heard it since then--until today when I finally found it here.

Life is once again in harmony...

  • I had the same Rickenbacker 4001 bass when I was young!!! 10 CC are the most original band!!! <3<3<3*****

  • One of my favourites

  • Graham Gouldman is a genius. Heard his Animalympics soundtrack? The film's on YouTube. Amazing stuff. He recorded it with the 1979 version of 10CC only without Eric Stewart, so it doesn't sound too far removed from the group's late-period output. Not only that he wrote loads of great songs for 1960s British invasion groups!

  • Lol hasnt changed much either, helluva painter too!

  • How tall is Lol and lol lot of laughs very confusing isnt it?

  • lol creme is about 5'5 i met him in the early 70's after donna was a hit and he was smaller than me and I am 5'6.

  • Thanks for letting me know.

  • Saw Graham Goldman and his 10cc band at Buxton last night and they were excellent!!!!!!!!!!

  • so that's 2.5cc .....

  • ...I'm hangin' round the Gardens of Madison... :)

  • Oddio sto titolo m'ha fatto letteralmente pisciare addosso...fatevi meno acidi, regalateli a me fattoooooni!!!

    Grandi, dagnene di minestrone

  • why does every one like eric so much, i would think every one would like lol creme

  • Torque, if you fancy Lol that is absolutely fine! The rest of us can carry on oggling Eric !

  • But i dont get it whats so great about eric -.-, creme is so much cooler... please explaine whats so greate about him >.>

  • Hi Torque! Yeah - Lol is VERY cool!! However, many, MANY women have been crushing on Eric for years now! There's a huge reason for this..Not only does he display an immense talent due to his strong musical genius and songwriting, but, when a man is sexy, he just gets sexier with age. Eric's still got it! Women seem to look past most things on the outside, anyway, and move toward sincerity and inner warmth. Eric shines with charm and intelligence, too, and women rave over men like that! Peace:)

  • Oh...KitKat, girly - I've soooo got this one!! (Thanks for brining it to my attention!!!!) :)

  • I love 10cc's quirky lyrics lol.

  • Hey 10cc Fans! ERIC STEWART'S BIRTHDAY is coming up on the 20TH OF JANUARY - I'd love to get together a fan package to ship to him -notes from all his fans with birthday wishes, maybe including how/why you were inspired by his (or 10cc's)music -Let's make our birthday boy happy!!! It's the least we could do for a guy who has given us so much incredible brilliance over the years!! Please contact me for further info, QUICK!!!! :)

    HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYBODY!!!

    - VALERIE

  • I like the way they're dancing, very much variation...not xD

  • No one in this crowd appears to know how to dance. Great song, but they all have that stiff, I'm bouncing from my left to my right, didn't know I was gonna have to dance, just do what everyone else is doing, how long am I gonna have to do this??? look on their faces.

  • this Creme/Stewart creation is a tasty treat indeed. "served up with parmesan cheese..."

  • "Let's get this romance cooking, honey

    But let us not forget..."

  • eric is just SO hot. sticks out his tongue at 2:01 ;P

  • Ha!!!!!!!! Liq, I never have noticed this before!! (I don't see how I missed it, actually, being that my OWN tongue is hangin' out everytime I look at Eric!!) Thanks for bringing this to my attention!!!!

  • but, of course! anytime... i'm ridiculously detail oriented (as you are too)... most of the time. this was a provocative find, IMO ;p

  • HA!! You crack me up, girlie!!! I'm glad that we are soooo much alike!!!!! Wow... I lovvvvvve that tongue!!!! ;p Happy New Year, M.!!!

  • We had 10cc, ELO, Wings, Sparks, Queen, Pilot, Slade and Wizzard all out at the same time in the 70s, what a great era for music. Yet, the mainstream media will try to have us believe it was all The Sunshine band, The Carpenters and Captain and Tennile. Wot da hell?????

  • VERY GOOD

  • I saw 10cc live last year and it was honestly one of the best things I've been to in ages! They've still got it baby.

  • ok. how hot was 10cc at this point? and let's talk about album production... their sound was waaaaaaaaay beyond good. btw, if i were old enough to be that brunette in the front row ( i was only 7 in 1975, damn!) i would've jumped Eric big time... just sayin'... bottom line: love! 10cc

  • One of my favourite songs is 'Band On The Run' by Paul McCartney & Wings, and everytime I hear it I think of 10cc. They must have got some album production and song writing ideas from that one. Then there is also 'Helen Wheels'...

  • yes, the song/album 'Band on the Run' has great sound/production. Sir Paul certainly knows what he's doing in the studio. 10cc obviously know what they are doing too... consummate professionals all around

  • The shimmer on the guitar in the little pause is amazing reminds me of the edge.

  • Hey! I was 2, yes, two when this come out, and IM old!

  • oh wow I was 15 when this came out boy do I feel old now....lol 10cc were awesome though!!

  • The girl dancing closest to the camera has me totaling mesmerized; I would love to meet her (35 years ago, right) "I'm not in Love, it's because".

  • But I like cold lasagne...

  • *does a lil dance*

  • The girl dancing closest to the camera with the long brown hair looks and acts like she could be Eric Stewart's younger sister.

  • it is

  • how would you know that the girl is Eric's sister?

  • wow this came out the year I was born..i feel ancient now..thanks.

  • wow this came out 19 years before i was born... i feel young

  • i feel old

  • i feel old

  • I was 13 when this came out, and YOU feel ancient? LOL

  • White people dancing. Jesus, no wonder we're known as God's frozen children!!

  • okee....were is here in italy??? mayby i'll come over in the summer!!

    ;-)

  • I'm in Florence, but you know, Italy has so many different places that the only thing I can suggest you is to find the ones that inspire you much more...just avoid milan, it's useless. ;P

  • "great"

  • very underated, top band grat era...
