Just saw this movie and it was amazing! They can premiere this movie this 2012 again and it will still get nominations and awards. Monica Belluci played the character very well. I cried for her sufferings and supported her for her strength. It goes to show how cruel human nature is! Female jealousy and male chauvinism very well portrayed. It makes you realize that "some" women are not proud of their beauty but rather burdened by it. Whoever didn't like this movie is envious of Malena!
She was a married women whose husband was a soldier. She became a prositiute and started sleeping with their husbands and nazi soldiers. To them they considered her to be a traitor/nazi collaborator. They did that throughout Europe to any woman who screwed around with a nazi.
