i found this answer somewhere else... apparently the song was made for the commercial...

I too was curious, so I e-mailed the official address on the volvo website. A few days later, this was the response from their marketer: This music was tailor made for the intro of the C30 Design Concept in Detroit some years ago. The music was done by the film company Edithouse here in Göteborg, so there is no artist.
