71000 - amazing engine. The people who rebuilt & improved her amazing too. Preservationists on a shoe string budget achieved far more than BR could with millions of P at their disposal! BR had a complete winner on their hands but never realized it!

I cannot disagree with what you all did out there during that epic run that will never be forgotten. And you know something, I really don't get what the fuss and mania is about with HD, this here is top notch, much better than what others have failed to make an effort to get!

You are filming with 1080p and I didn´t saw any traces of the rolling shutter effect.

Which camera are you using?

I´m asking, because I tried this summer to film with a Sony HDR XR550 camera in 1080p, and all the trains were spoiled by the Rolling Shutter Effect.

I was ready to buy an expensive camera, but nobody was able to show me a camera that was free of the RS effect.

@megatwingo The footage is in fact SD and was taken on Sony DSR370's .  We are now shooting on HD and have suffered with the RS problem too. We have realised over the years that steam trains pose more problems than most other subjects for video. DSR's are only 800 line cameras so 720.

Too bad. I thought this was a camera with 1080p without this RS Effect.

So I have to hope and wait for future developments in the camera sector.
