  • Fuck public schools, state schools are shit. Why can't we privately fund schools to insure that our children will always go to the best schools. Let competition take effect. The schools that provide the best educations receive the most money and become the examples that all schools strive to reach. Hard honest work > Theft. And the Constitution would still make sure that religion stays out of schools.

  • I always thought the Waltons was such a traditional program.

  • Christians need to get the pope in the presidents seat and bring the old holy crusade days back when christianity was the law and a matter of life or death. Chop a few heads off, burn a few on town square and torture a few others all in the holy name of god and there just might still be time to restore some real faith and respect. Amen

  • @kick08ful Sounds BRILLIANT!

  • Its prayer at the DMV that we need asshole

  • 1.) Agreed on the pledge (although personally I do not believe in pledging allegiance to a country like I would a chosen deity/deities or other figures that have actually earned my loyalty be it through research or acts that I have witnessed).

2.) If you wanted to get seriously technical, 234 years, counting from 1776.

  • @YrNhanioArnaYMor Your country hasn't earned your loyalty??? So in other words, all of the benefits you enjoy as a citizen count for nothing?

  • @Zeuts85 What "benefits"? Not being allowed to worship as I wish (A Witch/Pagan, mind you)? Or, perhaps the way most disabled folk get shuffled off to the side and ignored? Once, my loyalty was there but with the way legislature is going? It's going downhill fast. This nation's soldiers? I support them, why? Because they don't ask for the things they must do.

  • @YrNhanioArnaYMor Part two, sorry for the comment limit: My father was a soldier in Vietnam and the one time I heard him speak of it, the man was in tears. So, our people in uniform? THEY have my support. This government currently, does not. As for prayer in school? Pray all ya like. I do. Anyway, I believe I might have miscommunicated speaking of my concept of loyalty, intending to agree with most of your statements.

  • @YrNhanioArnaYMor Let's see. . . Free speech, freedom from religion (and let's hope it stays that way), law and order (aka, protection from individuals who would "rape and pillage" if allowed), educational opportunity, economic opportunity, democracy, medical care, confidence that you won't starve to death. . . need I go on? Sure, America isn't perfect--far from it. Our government needs a lot of cleaning up, but the pros far outweigh the cons. Criticism is one thing, "loyalty" is another.

  • @Zeuts85 Here is the exact wording of your constitution: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

It does not say anywhere that you are granted freedom FROM religion.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • @mmarantha "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." If you understand english, you should be able to see that this grants freedom "from" religion. Just because the constitution never uses the phrase "from religion" doesn't mean that the concept is never stated. Plenty of people who understand the constitution quite well use the phrase "freedom from religion." It's a neat little trick called "paraphrasing."

  • @Zeuts85 Good point, can you paraphrase Prohibiting the free excersize thereof to make it mean people can not pray at school......

  • @mmarantha Actually it does. "No law respecting"...what do you think that means? That means that citizens aren't forced to deal with religious ideologies. The government isn't to acknowledge or support any religious activity. This gives all Americans the freedom OF religion and FROM religion.

If you want to play the bullshit semantics game of "it doesn't say those specific words"...then I ask you to find where that amendment grants you "freedom OF religion" as well.

  • @KingHeathen You chose to use some foul language in a public forum, that is your choice and that is fine, but someone else may choose to PRAY in public and THAT offends you. I wonder though if you are one of those who bemoan the direction our society is taking, while attempting to keep prayer out of schools and your government offices. You see, some people demand we get God out then wonder why things have gotten so bad....seems obvious to me.

  • @mmarantha YouTube isn't "public." It's a privately owned subsidiary of Google which is owned by its stockholders. That aside...

I'm not offended that you pray in public...do it all you like...just leave me and my children OUT OF IT! Children pray in school. Teachers pray in school. ALL that is being demanded is that teachers not lead an entire class in prayer as to ostracize anyone that wishes not to. Please state a single thing that has gotten worse since removing teacher led prayer.

  • @mmarantha If your child's teacher was Muslim and led a prayer to Allah every day, how would you feel?

  • @bttrflykiss7701 Muzzies have no business teaching in this country. Only Christians should be allowed to teach here.

  • @DarrelfromZeeland Ha. Wow. biggoted much?

  • @bttrflykiss7701 Retarded much?

  • @KingHeathen PS, Your Christian friends send you information because they care :)

  • @mmarantha And it doesn't say abortion is illegal. How do you feel about abortion? You can't really think that every law or regulation is in the Constitution.

  • I have never heard this put like that, you make complete scene on this one I agree totally.

  • If you're going to teach prayer in school then you should also teach how stepping on a crack will break your mother's back.

  • This is great! I've recently contacted the ACLU because my school was conducting student-led prayers over the P.A. system. They are in BIG trouble!

    Awesome KingHeathen :)

  • *Looks at screaming, bickering, mob of Atheists and Christians*

    "MY GODS ARE REAL DAMNIT!

    LEST ALL WORSHIP MY GODS!

    NOAW!"

    *Sits back, and waits*

  • you commented me that you could not PROVE that there wasn't a "generic" god, and i certainly can't PROVE that their is a catholic, muslim, jewish, etc. god, but why do you care so much what people believe to post a video about disproving something that you can't possibly disprove. I can't disprove your beliefs, and you can't disprove mine, what our science is today is nothing compared to what it will be 100 years from now, science may prove that there is a god. right? I'm respectfully asking.

  • I was going to respond by recommending you watch "Why do I do this?" but I noticed that you commented there to.

  • But you don't have any proof, we do not have anything to prove.... Burden of proof. Why do atheists care? Because you idiots wriggle your way into our lives via attempting to force your shit into our legal system. Your idiocy keeps us from holding public office in 9 or so states.

  • @JDM373 OH YAH! You can prove the the tellytubbys are teaming up with barney and mario. plotting to take over england. The only line of deffence protecting england is bigfoot and the lockness monster. Disprove that BITCH!

  • @misterhalo2007 HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!!

  • @373jdm

I hope you enjoyed your Zombie Jew Day! Did you remember to hide the eggs so he didn't eat them all?

  • @KingHeathen I did enjoy my Easter and thank you for caring. It wouldn't make sense to hide the eggs from Jesus because he sits at the right hand of the father and knows all things. We did hide them from the children though, after church of course. I told the children to ask Jesus for help finding all the eggs and what do you know? They found them all!

  • @373jdm

So you enjoy pagan traditions then?

  • @KingHeathen If that is a pagan tradition, then yes I enjoy that tradition, don't know much where it stems from, but it's fun for the kids. Do you enjoy any religious traditions or other nationalities traditions?

  • @373jdm It's without question a Pagan tradition and it's fairly widely known as such. It's from the celebration of the Spring Equinox. The bunny represents fertility and the egg represents life. Have you never wondered what a bunny with eggs had to do with a guy dying on a cross?

I enjoy the other Pagan festival that you probably also enjoy. It's the Winter Solstice. The celebration of the birth of the SUN (not son) and happens in late December...ever heard of it?

  • @KingHeathen I've never wondered why people did the bunny and eggs, didn't really care, it was fun. And I always knew the reason why I was celebrating Easter.

You celebrate the birth of the sun? When was the sun born? Never heard of it, I celebrate the birth of christ around that time, ever heard of him?

  • @373jdm

1-I never said I was celebrating the birth of the sun.

2-It comes from the sun reaching its lowest point on the horizon and then returning upward. This originated at a time before we knew that the Earth was on a tilted axis and orbited the sun causing this phenomenon.

3-your "christ" was DEFINITELY not born any time close to December.

4-Watch my video "The Christmas Tree" and you can learn all about how you are violating Jesus' commands if you have one.

  • @KingHeathen 1) I apoligize, you didn't say you celebrated the birth of the sun, you said you enjoyed a pagan festival, the winter solstice. So how and why do you enjoy the winter solstice?

    2) Thank you for explaining the winter solstice.

    3)I know that, thank you.

4)Will watch your video, thanks for posting and may god be with you.

  • @373jdm

1-accepted. I think it's a nice idea to get together with friends and family and show them that you care about them. The solstice origin has nothing to do with it for me...but I'm not the one with a religion that tells me NOT to do "as the Pagans do"

4-I saw that you did...your comment made no sense. May the force be with you.

  • @373jdm Why should you celebrate the birth of Christ? It's not like Jesus ever told you to celebrate Christmas.

  • @alexfanx . I celebrate the birth of christ because of what he has done for me. Why do americans celebrate Martin Luther King or Abraham Lincoln? Because of what they did for America. Nobody tells me to do it, I enjoy it!

  • @373jdm Nobody tells you what to do? What about your religion? What has Christ done for you?

  • @alexfanx What about my religion? I chose my religion. It's my choice to follow Jesus. What has he done for me? He did it for you too, I don't know if you heard the story but he was crusified for our sins.

  • @373jdm Yeah, and what does that have to do with celebrating Christmas?

  • @alexfanx We are going around in circles here, I celebrate his b-day because of what he did for me. Now I have a question, why do you care what I do on certain days of the year and why do you care why I do them?

  • @373jdm Christmas isn't his b-day, shouldn't you be honoring him everyday, what makes Christmas so special? Shouldn't you be honoring his birth all year round?

  • @alexfanx I know, but we celebrate it on that day. My mom's b-day is april 6th but we celebrated it april 19th. What does that mean? Nothing, but if you people were to analyize it, it would make no sence to you. Upon answering yet another one of your questions, I noticed that you have not answered mine. Why do you care what I do on certain days of the year and why do you care why I do them?

  • I'm a Nahua Reconstructionist, someone who worships the Aztec gods, and if someone came up to me and tried to make me pray to a god I don't worship, I would punch them in the face, and if someone came up to me as I prayed to Xipe Totec or Huitzilopochtli and tried to stop me, I would punch them in the face. You do your thing and let me do mine, and we won't have problems. You push me enough, and I'll show you that I can push back even harder.

  • but...your god is fake

  • I would like you to back that statement up with some evidence if you don't mind. The conquistadors don't count, because gods have been around a lot longer than people have been worshipping them, so what a few hundred years to an immortal being like a god.

P.S. You mean gods. Nahua Reconstructionism is a Polytheistic religion dumb shit.

  • In all fairness TLM, not knowing the inner details of an almost extinct religion hardly makes one a "dumb shit"...

Meanwhile, before making such an accusation on someone, make sure YOUR information is accurate. You simply asserted that gods existed before man, when there is no way to back that up. Then you make the confusing statement about a few hundred years...what is that in reference to? Man's existence? Try a few hundred THOUSAND years. Oldest religious artifact? less than 10000.

  • Simply stating "your god is fake" without any evidence or facts to back that statement up is a pretty dumb thing to do. Try doing that to a Christian and they start foaming at the mouth and screaming at you. The statement I made about a few hundred years is referring to when the Spanish persecuted the Aztec faith to the point of extinction. Gods that had been worshipped for thousands of years stopped being worshipped for a few hundred. A few hundred years is nothing to an immortal being.

  • I agree, that his response was empty of any devastating evidence against you. But you saying that those gods were worshiped for any given length of time doesn't help your case either. There are many other religions that were followed for must longer times.

I'm just saying you overreacted to his reply and overstated your response.

  • My response was a bit harsh, but I just get sick of people like that sometimes. Yes, there are older religions, but older doesn't mean better.

  • heathen is right.

  • Comment removed

  • Great Great Great vid. I put it on my facebook

  • First Off I do believe in god. second I do agree with what your saying sorta . forcing someone to do some thing they don't want is messed up. if you wanna pray that''s fine. But school is about learning science , math , English , history etc. Its not church time . And I never like it when some one forces religion on some one else. It should be their choice the constitution says we have freedom of religion . schools should not push religion on children

  • First Off I do believe in god. second I do agree with what your saying sorta . forcing someone to do some thing they don't want is messed up. if you wanna pray that''s fine. • I'm so glad prayer and mandatory Bible teaching are no longer in public schools. They never should be! That's why they're PUBLIC schools! Leave that bullshit in the private schools. Public schools can accept anyone of any background, and with today's much more diverse population than 40 years ago, there are more and more kids who come from non-Christian backgrounds. So it would definitely be an affront to them and their parents for jackass teachers to force the Bible on them.

  • It's so hard to accept the fact that so many people still buy into this bullshit known as religion, esp. the Bible, which has been used time and again to kill and condemn masses of people over 1000s of years. And the book itself has historical foundation! It's myth, just like all the other ancient myths and sacred texts out there! It was created by primitive, gullible idiots who wanted a fast explanation and didn't have the tools to investigate the mysteries of the universe!! Duh!

  • I mean, no historical foundation.

  • we dont have a silent moment of reflection when i was in school...but we had a group that would pray during breaks at school.......btw...it dont matter if u believe or not GOD IS TRUE

  • "but we had a group that would pray during breaks at school"

Exactly, you proved my point. You can still pray in school...you just can't force it on others.

"btw...it dont matter if u believe or not GOD IS TRUE"

    prove it.

  • How is there not prayer in schools? Can't prayer be done silently during their free time (i.e. not a scheduled moment of silence)? In my school, we had a religious club that would meet during recess and pray... it was voluntary and done during the kids' own time. Why is that, plus the remaining 18 hours of the day they're not in school, enough for their prayers??

  • I don't know why so many of them make an issue out of having prayer time in school. They have plenty of time outside of the school day to pray and practice their religions. Why do we need to set aside time during the school day for it?

  • "anybody"

  • You should calm down with the insults you're not convincing abody with that attitude.

It's a Fact that Theories are not Facts, that's all I was saying. I could care less if you don't believe in god. The more room for me in Heaven ;)

  • "It's a Fact that Theories are not Facts"

This is correct. Theories are SUPPORTED by FACTS. The theory isn't the "fact" at all, but instead an EXPLANATION of what the facts ARE.

But you are wrong to say that because something is called a theory that it means that it hasn't been proven...the FACT that the theory stands would suggest that it HAS been proven.

  • well stated

  • If kids want to pray, they're free to do it. If kids want to read the bible, they're free to do so in their free time. There are pastoral groups in schools occuring at lunch time for those who need it. There are usually a couple of outcasts who join that kind of group so they don't feel isolated from everybody else (by isolating themselves voluntarily. The main reason why parents want prayer to be mandatory in school is because their own kids don't pray or join the pastoral voluntarily.

  • shit...we have prayer in schools...and we try to take it of...good luck to us with that...

    p.s. i am from greece

  • I don't know about any of you but I learned greek mythology in school!

  • You're a complete fucking idiot.

The term theory in science is used to describe a group of related scientific facts that directly correlate with one another to form a larger picture of certain observable phenomenon. Read: Observable.

You're using the layman's definition of theory, which isn't surprising given your obvious and blatant ignorance on the subject.

Gravity is "just a theory" as well. Care to disprove that one? Jump off a cliff while actively engaged in prayer. I thought not.

  • You people make me laugh, you try and put your point of view in schools as much as religous people, as much as there is religous fanaticism there is non beleiver fanaticism. Hence this video! If you want to teach the THEORY of evolution, then teach the THEORY of god. Neither have been proven, so teach them both and let the child decide.

  • "theory of god" is called "world religions" or "mythology" and it IS taught in school. The "theory" evolution is part of biology just as the "theory" of plate tectonics is geology or the "theory" of gravity is part of physics. Germ "theory" discusses how bacteria cause disease.

Watch my video "Definition of a Theory" for more.

  • Evolution is supported by scientific evidence. Religious creationist mythology is not. Simple. Teach real science in science class and teach your kid superstition and mythology at home or at your church.

  • I think the "silent moment of reflection" is a really good idea. I mean, it lets religious people pray, and lets everyone else think personally about whatever they need to think about. Of course, most students will probably just try to make noises without having the teacher notice lol.

    But yea, good video.

  • ok let me put an end to paspax and alexross8's argument, we anre not trying to take away religious freedoms we are simply saying that our children should not be influenced by your god or religion in any way when we have no contact or control over them, so if you want to pray before you eat we dont care just dont put everyones time aside to make it known, for no reason better than that, to make it known

  • Prayer is a religious practice. School is for learning, for work. Religious practices are contrary to the basis for the existence of schools, that being "getting the facts". Religion is fairy tales. It has no place in any school.

  • So you want to rid the freedoms of the religious peoples?

    How Hypocritical .

We live in countries that give us freedoms to be cultural in our own way.

You have no right to tell me that my freedoms should be taken away.

  • if you want to pray, do it at home, NOT in school.

  • there are kids who like to pray before they eat .

Why should they have to stop praying?

And... i am not in school anymore ... so i have to pray at home anyway lol.

  • If people wish to pray in school they can do it in their own time. Nobody should have to wait until they are finished praying before they start eating because that would infringe on the rights & freedoms of people who don't want to pray. The school should not be setting aside school time for the pursuit of religious practices either. School is for work, not religion.

  • Lol praying only takes a few seconds... nobody really asks for time to pray.

"Lord , I thank you for the food , Amen"

    ^ Quick lunch prayer.

  • "nobody really asks for time to pray."

Christian groups are CONSTANTLY trying to impose religion on schools. This includes prayer time. Time which is SCHOOL TIME = WORK TIME.

I repeat.. School is for WORK, NOT RELIGION.

  • correction.. It would infringe on the rights of those who don't pray.

  • YOU are an idiot. Freedom of religious people?? School is a place for LEARNING not praying. I hate it how people say these days that you should respect "faith" and "religious leaders". "Faith" is please believe this without any proof. It does my head in when these god shaggers spew shit out ther mouths. Ive got every right to say your "rights" should be took away because I AM REAL unlike your stupid barbaric god

  • religious leaders? the current leader of my religion has been in heaven for 2000 years. No man can claim to be a religious leader.

Because you have a negative opinion (intolerance) about certain kinds of people , I think you should be imprisoned.

  • mmm..sorry... where do i start? How do YOU KNOW that jesus is up in heaven? there is no possible way to KNOW so that is a lie. Good people arent supposed to tell lies are they? Ever heard of logical thinking? Didnt think so. "Because you have a negative opinion (intolerance) about certain kinds of people , I think you should be imprisoned." 1) Its not intolerence 2) Dont you have negative opinions sometimes, like when kids get abused, so arent you as "bad" as me then?

  • "Its not intolerence"

"It does my head in when these god shaggers spew shit out ther mouths"

"because I AM REAL unlike your stupid barbaric god" Wow , Ignorance and intolerance.

Congratulations , you have just contradicted yourself.

"Don't you have negative opinions sometimes, like when kids get abused, so aren't you as "bad" as me then?"

in this case, I would have a positive opinion , because I don't want children to be abused.

    Positive , meaning good .

  • Lets summarize. I would class myself as a good person, I dont kill, steal, take drugs, I do respect people ( when they deserve it), I care about earth and ALL life. Then take jesus. Murderer, torturer, wants to bring armaggeddon, big head (thou shoult only have one god) and he hates ANY and ALL gays or lesbians. AND YOU WANT TO LOCK ME UP?????

  • You asked me three questions , that I shall answer.

I don't want to answer the question about Jesus , because it would take too long.

"there is no possible way to KNOW so that is a lie."

How could any unknown thing be a lie if you don't know about the unknown.

Am I eating a hotdog right now?

You don't know , so therefore you can't tell me that I am lying if I said I did.

And , yes I have learned about Logical thinking.

That is how I became a Christian.

  • So basically what your saying is that because something cant be disproved then no one has the right to say it doesnt exist? By that rule anything can be "made up" and people havent got a right to ridicule and attack a belief no matter how absurb it is. My problem isnt with a "god" its with religion.

  • Well... I could claim to be watdching tv , but you can't say that I am lying ,because you cannot confirm it.

If I told you that Buddha was reading poetry to me in english , that would be an obvious lie because he doesn't know english , and hes dead.

If I told you that God existed , I would be ignorantly stating something to be true , when we cannot confirm it.

God blesses people who believe without evidence.

  • " the current leader of my religion has been in heaven for 2000 years. " = LIE

  • It's not a lie.

If you said that Hitler was in heaven right now , I couldn't say it was a lie.

Maybe you really do believe that Hitler is in heaven.

    It's like a 100% chance that he is not , but I can't call you a liar.

  • 100%? What if he asked for Jesus' forgiveness just before he died and really meant it? Aren't you calling Jesus a liar if you say that he wouldn't have been forgiven and gone to Heaven?

But I do agree, there is a 100% chance that he's not in Heaven....because Heaven DOESN'T EXIST!

And while I wouldn't call it a "lie"...it's clearly an assertion since you can't prove it.

  • HITLER KILLED HIMSELF!

    Suicide = instant Hell

It's not like Hitler could ask for forgiveness after he died , because it would be too late , because he would be in hell already.

Jesus allows people who love him and believe him into heaven.

If Hitler loved him and believed him , he wouldn't have killed millions.

And if he had believed in God's great gift , he wouldn't have committed suicide.

  • What if he didn't kill himself and they just made it look that way? We can't know 100% for SURE...can we?

  • Maybe he escaped..

But he didn't kill millions of jews for no reason.

He was aware of what he was doing.

If he didn't commit suicide , then there is a lowered chance.

  • so you admit that it's not 100%...good...was it so hard to agree with me when I was actually supporting one of YOUR previous statements?

  • "there is a 100% chance that he's not in Heaven" Sorry but that IS YOUR OPINION and a BLATENT LIE. Thats 2 lies you have said. Hitler by all accounts was christian. How do you know that jesus wasnt speaking to him telling hitler to do the actrocoties that he did. Therefore Hitler was only carrying out gods " grand plan".

  • Where in the Bible does it say a THING about suicide, much less BS about how you'll go to hell? Seriously, show me one verse. I really doubt the veracity of this silly claim. You're just believing whatever your idiot church leaders told you.

  • Leviticus 19:28 talks about harming yourself or making incisions in your flesh , which is forbidden. Even tattoos.

Harming yourself in anyway is forbidden.

Also , the Ten Commandments apply also , because they aren't talking about things you shouldn't do to other people , but things you shouldn't do to man.

Also , Jesus explains that sin is not a law that you can break against God , but an action that can make you further away from God.

  • That is a major part of Muslim religion. Wow you are muslim too.

  • Jesus says," if you love me , then why do you disobey me".

He talks about how people who love him , must obey him or else heaven won't be for them.

In Islam , it actually says that dying in the name of allah will insure their entry into heaven , whether or not they commit suicide.

I am not a Muslim , because I am not a hypocrite to my own religion.

  • Sorry I had to make it more clear. Muslims refuse tattoos because it is against religion.

Let me qoute the bible to you since you are such a good christiant Alexross8.

The body is gods temple and he resides in it. So if you eat junk food of any kind then you are hurting gods house.

Wait jesus says that what comes out of a man is evil not what goes in.

    Great contradiction

And the fight between muslims and christians is on who is the firs son of Joseph. He did have a mistress n had a son

  • It doesn't say if you eat junkfood , you are ruining your body.

Great Job , you are twisting the bible's words , to make it seem contradictory.

Sure , poisons can harm the body.

But what cometh out of the mouth , defileth the man , not of poison , but of sin.

Is a cookie the cause of sin? or is the tongue of lies the cause of the sin?

If you understood the meaning of the bible , you would have known it.

It's not meant to be interpreted , but understood.

  • Praying is like sitting in a rocking chair, its something to do but wont get you anywhere.

  • I haven't ever prayed in school. At home , but no public place.

But for people who want to pray , there should be a quiet time for praying.

And that quiet time should allow any non-believer or non-practicing Christian to do whatever they want.

  • While I'm not personally against your "quiet time", when and how much time would this occur as you see it?

  • recess, pray during that time, no one is going to be put through it if they don't want to, nor will have to hear it

  • I don't pray but I respect them by being silent. I just say I respect your belief, respect my choice to not believe in a God. Simple

  • Ya prayer shouldnt be pushed on people. a moment of silence i think is a nice compromise. religous kids can pray, others can do whatever. forcing religion on people has never done any good. In the bible God has literally said he choses his people NOT forces his will on others. Parents really can only worry about their own kid anyway. u cant change other peoples kids. they are just razed different.

  • On this one you Americans are doing far better than us. At my primary school (many years ago now) we all had to say (religious) grace before eating lunch. Then again the headmistress was a bible basher, as well as a stupid cow (correlation? causation? maybe!)

  • actually the pledge of allegiance does not specify that the god is the god for christianity. the USA is a nation that supports freedom of religion, and most religions have some sort of god or deity, and thus why they have the "under god" in the pledge. However, this doesnt mean that the entire nation is run under a single religion. I just wanted to point that out.. no offense meant. am an atheist too

  • yeah i agree with you; except we have been overcome by Christianity.

  • That is not why they put that in there. They put "under god" in the pledge because of the Red Scare and they wanted to segregate themselves from the godless communists.

  • The words "under god" and "in god we trust" were added to the pledge and our money respectively in the 50's. The reason was simply Cold War propaganda. The Soviet Union was officially atheist, and the government at the time didn't want America associated with the Soviet Union in any way.

  • go PRAYER IN SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!

  • if its a public school, any religious activity is prohibited, that is, activity that MUST involve every person in the school. you know why? because the US is a nation that dictates religious freedom. thats why no publicly government run foundation can force a single religion onto others. However, in certain private schools, prayer in school is regular. DOnt mean any offense, you have the right to say anything you want.

  • Keep stirrin' the fuckin' pot. No shit...

Preach on brother! And no you fucking religious hippies, preach doesn't require a damned thing about religion. Preach: To proclaim or put forth in a sermon. Sermon: Any serious speech, discourse, or exhortation, esp. on a moral issue.

  • well i don't think it's "left" but it shouldn't be banned is all.

and as you probably KNOW there are schools that make people pray, i am sure there are schools that have banned it.

  • Why does our government run schools anyway?

Our government sucks at everything except perpetuating itself and military power. Schools should be run by parents. If the parents don't want to run their school, send the kid to the church school of your choice. If you're not religious send them to a private school of your choice. Or, home school them.

You say "I can't afford to send my kid to a private school". Well, you could if the government wasn't taking over half of your income!

  • you are amazing

  • Bold. Logical. Good job, KingHeathen!

  • Dude, you're a horrible person.

  • riiiiight....

    because?

  • Hey these morons can pray all they want, anytime they want! Throughout the day any student can make their own prayer anytime. So what are they bitching about. No! You will not force everyone to pray together or have school sanctioned prayers in public schools. You wanna pray, pray! Just keep it to yourself.

  • There are already enough beliefs that are pushed on children, not only religious beliefs, but scientific theory. The state and teachers should teach theories that shun things 'supernatural', but should they expect them to believe in it as a law and not a theory? I don't believe so. I agree with KingHeathen in that prayer should not be a forced ritual in school. Kids should be allowed to pray, after all, science doesn't point entirely away from creation.

    I say, let em pray.

  • you need to revisit the definition of the word "theory"...I have a video on the subject.

  • I don't see why people can't pray before school, it's not like its a 2 hour ritual.

They just want to put it in schools to spread their cult onto children with their brainwashing tactics.

  • Great video. i can't wait untill they get kicked out. going to school and having the unfortunate chance to hear something about god is annoying and it's imbarrasing to say no and god doesn't exist

  • this was excellent, the video was entertaining and i have more points to support my case in the event that i argue with a christian about "prayer" in schools. and Friendo1231 made an awesome comment :)

  • My father's school didn't have teacher-led prayer, but they had an officially designated time for everyone to pray individually. What that really meant was everyone saying the Lord's Prayer in unison - everyone but the Jew, my father.

  • Amen!

  • Do you mean that THIS GUY needs to be more open minded? I think it's the people who have no problem promoting one version of one religion at the expense of everyone else's beliefs.

  • Those dumbasses are trying to dilute the seperation of church and state thing. Believe me, this is now one of the primary goals of the Republican party because they need the ignorant bliss-ninny vote to marginally attain office. Without the whacko vote, they would all have to get eal jobs.

  • Go to church to pray; go to school to learn.

Don't pray in my school and I won't think in your church.

  • "Don't pray in my school and I won't think in your church"

    -Nice quote.

  • 1. As long as there are math tests in school there will be prayer :)

    2. Forcing prayer in schools is un-Christian:

And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

    Matthew 6:5-6

  • Actually the King James Bible was read every morning in public schools. Was it the athiest who started the trouble and had it removed? No, it was actually the Catholics who said it was "Offensive" to them. Imagine calling youself "Christian" but saying the word of God is offensive. Read up on the Bible wars and native riots in the state of PA. Ironic some of these hypocrites talk about wanting prayer back. After they messed up the pub school and abandoned it.

  • EXCELLENT points.

  • Seperate church from state completely!

  • You live in a country that is free because of a group of Christians that, came over here to worship their God. Atheist dont have to say under God just like you dont have to pray when there is a moment silence.

  • And Christians are welcome to talk to their "god" anytime they wish, they DO NOT have the right or the authority to require me to wait on you to do so. I'm perfectly fine with some "moment of silence"...but we are talking about teacher led prayer that is being pushed to be reinstated.

  • I sure wish those Christians would've kept moving westward in their pilgrimage. (music: theme from Under The Sea....)

  • #1, the pilgrims didn't "found" this nation.

#2, when the nation WAS founded it was with the expressed interest that religion NOT be a part of our government.

#3, I don't believe in your god or any god, so I don't consider myself UNDER god.

#4, the original pledge, written by a Baptist preacher DID NOT include the phrase and his family TO THIS DAY say he got it right the first time.

  • Ok when the pilgrim came over they came over for religion. If they didnt come over do you really think you would be here.

    2. You can believe what you want but religion was present in government back in the day. If they were Christians God influenced their decsions.

    3. you dont have to say under God. Just like you dont have to say a pray when we do.

    4. And they put it in for a reason. Because they now without God we are nothing

  • 1-yes, because I have native American heritage

2-history disagrees with you, look it up

3-which is why it shouldn't be in there

4-yes, to counter the idea of the "godless" communists we were fighting back then. Please learn your history...it's important.

  • That doesnt mean you would be here. I have Native American heritage also. Doesnt mean I would be here.

You look at almost every civilization EVER tell me most of them did not have some sort of religion.

  • You tell me that every single one of them didn't have a full grasp of reality as well!

  • lol these fuckin morons are still complaining about evolution being taught also. everyone knows what they're up to, trying to push their bullshit on us. and it's so rediculous when people say things like "it's one nation under GOD," as if that's the way it's always been, i mean fuck the original pledge of allegience wasn't written until the 1890's, and the fuckin under god b.s. wasn't added til the 1950's!

  • prayer belongs in the home or at church. not in a public school.

  • Cant agree more.

  • I am certainly against religion in schools. But, would you be for or against teaching science, among other things, as a means to discredit religion at grade-school and high school levels?

  • Evolution is a fact. Proven by science from a theory.

  • We can pray in school if we want to. I used to go to a public school, I'd have my Bible with me and I'd pray and talk about God in school as much as I wanted. I got in trouble and I didn't really care. I can talk about God if I want to, if the people don't like it they don't have to listen to me or anyone else. :] I support prayer in school. I'm glad I go to a private school again. :]

  • i do see what you mean, but what about the rights of the others to their own beliefs? It seems a little selfish of you that your view your ideas and beliefs above others

  • Then why not they not be around me? People can talk about 'allah' and 'buddha' in school peacefully, what's did Jesus do to make him not be loyal enough to be talked about?
