FYI, Mercedes built basically nothing on this car, it was something like 90% designed and manufactured by AMG.

@SezFromMalygos No offence taken man. Its just something about the mercedes engine sound that doesnt do it for me at all. No offence to Mercedes, I like some of their car designs but again, the engine sounds like a muscle car (no offence to muscle cars but the sound and the car don't match to me)

Saying that I dont like the V8 sound is too general of a statement. I absolutely LOVE the Aston Martin V8 Vantage mostly of the sound and the exterior design. Its my favorite car :)

Glorious sounds from the F1 derrived V8; not at all like a tractor as mistakenly reported earlier. This is the same 6.3 litre V8 used in a variety of other AMG cars such as the C63. Go down to your local MB dealer and listen to it in person instead of on your iPod. Frighteningly cool.

It makes a difference because these type of models are made for a specific group of byers who can afford. I didnt say that ferarris are affordable, but yes most of their models can be bought easier than the SLR. I can accept that this is a failed car only in case you drove it and you didnt like it. An example of a failed car is BMW Z8 which didnt to well in terms of sales volume and BMW didnt produce a succesor model for this car.

I don't really know why you keep on trying so hard on SLR here. If SLR was successful, then Mercedes would have no reason to cut ties with McLaren on making another supercar like SLR.

In SLR , McLauren would probably have some rights by the use of its name on the model......however with amg mercedes wouldnt have such issues(that is just a guess, i ve no clue about it),

See? Why do you try to defend SLR when you don't know much about it and it as a fact only just failed? Mercedes and McLaren are pretty much one, and if Merc thought SLR was a good idea, then they would've still stuck with them for another supercar, but they didn't. And if you look at reviews, SLR is not quite there.
