@mexicanlovezz Yes! My mom and I walked through it and enjoyed it very much. The silhouette of Maleficent scared the crap out of me. My dad was sick with the common cold and wasn't able to join us. We did this on my birthday weekend.
Is this ride scary? I am taking my sister to disneyland tomaorrow ands she is like affraid of every ride! Even the little baby ones. So I want to make sure she won't cry on this ride.
I too miss the old one. The new one is... eh. It seems they are taking out a lot of the classic things in Disneyland, this is one that should have been left alone.
Please give me the old one back! This is just a pop up book with fancy lights and effects crud that have nothing to do with the movie, and extra scenes were added to make idiots believe there's more to this walkthrough than there actually is. Just update the 70's one and give it the light effects. This new one is so tacky!!!
Are you frickin kidding me the Barbie doll one was hideous, this one is 1000x better and I actually wanted to see it. You've obviously not seen it yet.
I saw the new one and it's an expensive black light painted carnival fun house only more noisy and without the fun.I need ear plugs and sunglasses to get thorugh it again.Take away the inacurate animation parts and you'd see what I mean. Those were put in so people wouldn't notice how bad it really is.they took the joy of simplicity and killed it with high tech crud.Could they at least make a dvd of the old one so people who liked it can still see it,like with the MSE parade after it was removed?
OK maybe it's full right now but the crowds will thin down soon, I have to admit the music passes through the areas too far...but the Barbie version was still unlikeable by many people. But IDK it's your opinion...
Why can you hear the Aurora song all the way through? :(
The version with the "Barbie Dolls" seemed a bit tacky to me. As a kid I didn't really care, but when I hit 12 it started to look cheap. This new version isn't 3D, but it seems more visually cohesive and tasteful. However, It is way too loud. Hopefully by the time I make a visit the crowds will be gone, and the castle will once again be forgotten by the masses of screaming kids.
I just saw the blu ray version and apparently this walkthrough was reminiscent of the VERY original walkthrough before the barbie dolls. The mechanicals are the same as the original added with a few special lighting, there wre a few additional scenes however, like the blazing dragon that seemed to depend on a lot of digital projections. Neverthless this new one seems to be very good.
i'm so happy they put the original back in!! one question through, why did they had magnicifant at the end? they took it out from the original because it scared little kids too much...
I like how they made the dioramas with the original 1959 design istead of those dolls that didnt look anything like the characters at all...oh and i hav 2 ask wat editing program did u use for this video cuz im lookin 4 one???
Although not as captivating as the walkthrough from the 80's, this one is enjoyable. And I noticed that one of the laughs heard in the corridor of goons was used in the hell section of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride! Thanks a lot for posting, great job!
the new technology that the Imagineers have put into the castle is amazing. What I would like to know is what has happened to the original dolls from the walkthru? Are they in storage?
hmm never even knew this was here on our trip in 2008, but now we do and our trip this coming May will include this!!!!!!!

I noticed in the "corridor of goons" the goons make the same laughing noises as the little devils at the end of Mr. Toad's wild ride.

@imagineerboi
Yes, it's common for Disney (and many other companies which makes movies and/or rides) to re-use certain sound effects.

Is this in Orlando?
SwayingAndSweeping 2 years ago
No. Orlando's castle is themed after Cinderella, while Anaheim's is themed after Sleeping Beauty

This isn't a "ride," not even, like, a "little baby one." Typical guest.

jamielin2365: if you read and actually watched the video you do not ride anything. This is a walk through of the actual castle.
RumsGone 2 years ago
@jamielin2365 A little! The silhouette of Maleficent along with Maleficent with her demons are scary. Please be careful. Is your sister a teen now?

disney auctions there stuff off.
And the dolls were not part of the original walk through.

The Disney company says that the sets and the figures are in storage, for possible "future use".
