  • même si en ces jours la technologie n'a pas existé comme aujourd'hui je pense toujours que les années 80 étaient l'âge d'or pour les films d'horreur.

  • saw this on Shock Theater in the '80s on a local TV station......it's pretty damned good for such a low budget flick. add a few beers, and it's even better, lol

  • @itsabig Shock Theater, classic. I watched Shock Theatre as a kid in the early 70's in S.C. Late Saturday nights, before cable.

  • This movie is classic original title was Twisted Brain.

  • I think I seen this before. Wasn't it's alternative title "Matthew?" Got it in some horror box set w/ 10 movies or so. I forgot the boxset's name, but it was also incorrectly dated too (1989).

  • actually return to horror high is the sequel to this movie. that sequel sucked

  • @royalnaz1 Wrong... on both counts Return to horror high is not the sequel and is one of the era's best horror comedies... maybe you didn't get the comedy part that might make it suck

  • I saw this on Chiller Theater when I was six. It made me shit my pants

  • @smjjohnson Same here... one of Chilly Billy's most nightmare-inducing offerings ever!

  • Detective Lt. Funk Bellbottom is on the case!

  • One of my favourites and one of my first aired waaay back when! what got me into horror in the first place! thanks mom! and thanks for the upload!

    ^v^J.R.^v^

  • lol Shit. It's too bad Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold weren't around to clean out this place instead. lol

  • 1) @:25 one of the nicest monsters to a glass item!

4)I will never watch this again!

    Thanx 4 this!!!

  • Saw this tape at the thrift store last week (The tape is titled Twisted Brain) bought it, classic horror movie!

  • This is about a shy nerd who gets revenge on those who picked on him and made fun of him for a long time! Why doesn't hollywood make a re-make of this movie?

  • i would really like to see this movie.

  • Cool interpretation of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde!

  • 0:23 Vernon better be careful not to swallow one of those dry ice pieces.

  • hey does Joe Montana play in this movie

  • Old horror flicks, like this one, often looked cooler in 16 mm film. Bring back 16 mm !

  • Greatest horror film ever made! Supposedly CODE RED is putting a restored and UNCUT (all existing prints were cut and additionally were padded with footage for tv prints, the murders were all toned down to acquire a PG Rating) dvd out this Summer!!! The violence should be much more brutal and gory. Considering CODE RED's track record, let's keep our fingers crossed, though it should be easy for them as the thing was remastered for a BCI/NAVARRE release that got cancelled two years ago!

  • @MisterMumps Code Red rules!

  • @WheeoftheDead Naaahhh!!!!! No interview on the disc with Mister Mumps, fuck that shit, Yo!!!!! ;-)

  • its the horror verison of the hulk IN HIGH School but still a classic

  • @Pinkranger87 It's a variation of the Jeckyll and Hyde story...

  • Anyone know where I can watch this movie for free online?

    Thanks.

  • @PassionBurnsInside83 This is the film titled Twisted Brain also known as Horror High watch?v=2lkwfuKbZho

  • My mom turned me on to this movie in the early 80's. It's one of my fave horror films!

  • My mom turned me on to this movie in the early 80's. It's one of my fave horror films!

  • I'm not about to watch this movie so bear with me here. I just don't get it. If the nerdy guy as victimized by the jock bullies, why is he taking things out on the teachers?

  • @OceanbornAngel ..regarding Horror High, in the film, the teachers who were attacked were equally guilty as the jocks of victimizing Vernon. The gym teacher especially, he tried to bully him into helping a jock pass chemistry.

  • Wasn't this also called Twisted Brain?

  • @BebeLush2

Yup. That's what it was titled when I originally saw it on TV back in the day.

  • I had an original vhs a couple years ago! Really FUN low budget madness! The paper cutter scene is great indeed! I'd love too get this on dvd! Never saw Don't Look IN The Basement myself - would like too tho!

  • that black guy with the white coat is really acting, i love movies like this, but i don;t remember watching this one, i am a real fan of these movies, love horror.

  • the sequel of this stars george clooney "return to horror high"

  • @Firebirrd85 ..while George Clooney is in RETURN TO HORROR HIGH, that film isnt a sequel to the Horror High shown here.

  • I've seen this one. The original Revenge Of The Nerd flick !! He kills one guy by stomping his chest with a pair of cleeted soles.

  • Poor Vernon...all he wanted was smokin' hot Rosie Holotik.

This was a fun little film. Back in the heyday of mom-and-pop video rental stores, you could find a copy of "Horror High" pretty much anywhere. Ah, those gaudy, oversized clamshell cases...

  • Yeah, Rosie Holotik. She was also in that flick Dont Look In The Basement.

  • Yes, and she played the Vanishing Hitchhiker in one of my all-time favorite low-budget horror flicks, "Encounter With the Unknown" :)

  • where did they film this

  • I remember watching this on tv in the seventies. I still remember the paper cutter scene! P.S does anyone remember the low budget "don't look in the basement"?

  • wow this is an awesome movie!!

  • hahaha. I think the lower the budget, the more they have to say the title in the trailer. Horror High!

  • looks like a trailer for grindhouse

  • I hear Disney is remaking this film as Horror High School Musical. Vernon is to be played by Zac Efron and Selena Gomez is the girl. She'll sing the remake of the main title theme song as well.

  • "Theres two people dead, Two i say" ROFL

  • WHOA, now I can get into a certain amount of camp and cheese in horror movies, but this one might go too far.........

  • I wonder if the kids went to Horror Middle School and Horror Elementary as well?

  • I have been trying to get my hands on this film for the longest time.

And everyone I talk to about it asks the same question...WHY?!?

  • revengehorror is releasing an uncut and high quality of this movie.

  • 1:36 = John Madden before the NFL.

  • AKA Twisted Brain, saw it in the late 70's on latenight tv--the scene with the paper cutter rocked!

  • this on dvd yet?

  • I remember seeing this one on Chiller Theatre (WPIX11 New York) when I was a young lad in the very early 70's.

The film's star, Pat Cardi, was also in a William Castle film from the 60's called "Let's Kill Uncle!"

And I agree with you, od666666, this film is WAY overdue for DVD release!

  • is this the film were he stomps on his victims?

  • I believe he stomps one of his teachers to death, but I can't remember which one. I seem to remember him having cleated football shoes on when he did it.

Sadly the TV print was cut and it was hard to see.

  • yessss that s it... thanks

  • The gym coach, played by ex-Dallas Cowboy John Niland

  • yeah it's on a Rhino compilation called Horrible Horrors vol 1 disc 2 I ordered it on Netflix!

  • Thanks man!

  • I remember this one. Great film, used to run all the time on cable.

  • I must see see this movie!!!!

  • Does anyone know if "Return to Horror High" has any connection with this?

  • i know that return to horror high sucks.

  • i'm wondering the same thing. return sucked tho

  • @martincommrad yes it does

  • Really? How so?

  • @martincommrad No, Return To Horror High has nothing to do with Horror High.

  • WTF was the black detective/cop doing in the back seat of the cruiser?!

  • I was always surpirsed that MST3K never got round to riffing on this one

  • t my school had made a film called horror high and they copyrighted it... lol

  • some kid at my school had made one, and they copyrighted their own film

  • All these kind of trailers are sooooooo cheesey :P

  • this&Gargoyles rocked.Used to be on Cablevision channel 12 in Waco, part of Shock Theatre.

  • lmao this is such a good laugh for me xDD

  • I remember staying up late to see this on the WWL (channel 4 New Orleans) late late show (I was maybe 12). Scared the bejesus out of me!

  • Well the thing is Horror High was made then someplace I think paramount got it and changed it to be put on TV under the name "The twisted brain" and then just stole it from there. BUT as of last summer they were going though the old film and there going to put horror high back out under horror high AND I hear that there making a new horror high but I don't know anymore about that.

    Hope you enjoyed my info

    Chris

  • I saw this on TV when I was like 10 years old when it was "Twisted Brain" it especially scared me because it was on "Double Chiller Theater" on TV and they showed it around midnight on Fridays, I watched it sitting in the dark by myself and had nightmares all that night - I didn't even watch the whole show it scared me soooo bad lol

  • was it with fritz the nite owl?

  • I saw this on TV in the 70's as "Twisted Brain" - a much better title, IMO.

The movie totally freaked me out when I was 14or so.

  • I am also wondering if this is the precursor to Return To Horror High, in which the prologue alludes to the murders committed at Crippen High School in 1982.

It can't possibly be, because the killer is a

teenager, while in "Return", the killer turned out to be the former principal, Mr. Kastlemann, whose son Arthur, is the scriptwriter for Harry Sleerik's group, but it appears that insanity runs in the family, as the blood drips & the shadow falls.

  • no,the original title was twisted brain[with a dr. jeckil-mr. hide story line.]

  • @PrincessMichiruKaiou No Horror High and Return To Horror High have zero to do with each other.

  • please dont tell me that return to horror high is the sequel to this because that movie was stupid lol

  • Dude... Vernon's hot...

  • This movie is also known as "Twisted Brain". I first saw it about 30 years ago late one night on a local tv channel. I didn't know until way later that it is also known as "Horror High". I like the movie.

  • I'm glad you like it, that very fact, gives me a hard on.

  • me too i was little late night they u to have movies like this

  • I saw this more than once in the '70's. It's one of those movies that you don't forget. They used to play it at 2 AM and the sponsor was Cal Worthington Dodge. Remember him? He'd stand on his head while doing his speil "I'll stand on my head to make you a deal" I will stand upon my head, till my ears are turnin' red! Go See Cal, Go See Cal, Go See Cal!Then he'd be there with various animals having them do tricks.I wonder if he's still alive? Boy, was I brainwashed! LOL

  • I'd kill to find a copy of this anywhere!

  • look for the horrible horrors collection dvd vol 1.

    they have a copy :D

  • theres a remake coming....

  • Um, yeah, I don't believe they ever did this one on MST man.

  • So that George Clooney flick was based on something. Hm...

  • this is kinda like a teenage dr.jekyll and mr. hyde.

  • LOL 1:52 Rahhrar

  • remember return to horror high.

  • It's so funny to find out that the star of the movie, that bullied teenager, is the creator of Moviefone.

  • Pat Cardi, you mean? He also was in the 1960's William Castle film, "Let's Kill Uncle." What a career leap, huh?

  • they filmed this at my school

  • I remember coming home late and the local station would play this every other month. Also played a movie about an all girls school where the husband & wife headmasters would kill & eat the girls. I don't remember the name of that one.

  • this movie rocks

  • this movie kicks ass!!!

  • I'm playing Lt. Bozeman in a local musical adaptation of this movie. It's good fun.

  • SERIOUSLY~~~???!!! RECORD IT!!!

  • hey men wtf ? you go to this site for porn

  • Wow, looks like a great movie!

  • I think they're doing a remake...and I have a bad feeling they'll get Milo Ventamiglia as the bullied teenager...

  • I sort of remember that channel 11 WPIX tv in nyc ran this late late at night one night. Ahhhh TV, before infomercial goo replaced bad late night cinema.

  • Yeah, infomercials suck monkey balls.

  • I remember it too. it was one of my fave films and it's actually not bad. The star of the film, Pat Cardi, also played in a little known William Castle movie from the 60's called "Let's Kill Uncle."

  • This is a cool movie for those who loves terror!!!!!!!!!!

    Dan L. "Fierce Tiger" Wilson

    10:49PM Eastern Time 4/26/07

  • It is SUPER rare but is in the public domain and can be found in horror PD DVD collections like many other OOP 70's horror.

  • I remember seeing this movie when I was a kid and still remember it to this day...wonder if it's available on DVD?

  • Just watched Return to Horror High. It's my least favorite horror film alive! Terrible!!!

I just hope this film, if I see it, turns out better!

  • So it's pretty much depicting a typical day at any high school

  • Is this related to "Return to Horror High"?

  • Negative. I remember when FANGORIA mentioned that RETURN was in production I briefly hoped it might be a belated sequel.

  • Remember seeing this one on the local creature feature under the title "Twisted Brain." Goriest movie I'd seen in my life--I didn't particularly enjoy it then.

  • Greatest movie ever? Something Weird actually borrowed my 35mm trailer to make this video transfer, God bless 'em.

  • Wow, that's amazing! God bless 'em, indeed. And thanks to you for letting this trailer loose on the world.
