WRX can, even in stock form, can out handle, (more important to me then strait line accl) and is more agile then most cars costing twice as much. Put a good suspension in them, and stiffen them up a bit, and even with stock power, your talking a a real machine.

Tell you what, go drive a wrx, or an sti, and tell me whats better.....

It's just that more people can afford Hondas so that many more people say that they are reliable when in reality, they are the same as a Nissan or a Subaru.

1:I've had 2 Legacies (97<-ex-wife kept this one, 98<-sold this one) & both were 2.2Ls. I've revved both of them to 7K rpm (max limit) with no problems whatsoever w/AM ECUs (they stop making power at 6.1K RPM).

2:Subaru engines are naturally harder to work on because of the flat 4 design (2 heads) so I can see build time being faster with a smaller Honda engine. Still, reliability is the same between Subaru & Honda.

3:I installed GT heads (DOHC) on my old 97 & it made power all over the RPMs.

1:Btw, my DOHC 2.2 Legacy would 'theoretically' crush a RWD Civic<-since this would put down less whp than a FWD. It beat 2 B20B VTECs & 5 LS/VTECs<-there are a LOT of these. Both of those B20 VTECS hatches had LS transmissions. No idea what trannies the LS/VTECs had but they weren't as fast (all of them were 2drs).

2:I would take a FWD Civic much more serious than I would ever take a RWD Civic. Those little cars are fast (B20 VTECs can PULL). 6 years ago, I would have never said that. Now...

Sorry for not saying what kind of subaru i have, yes it is a WRX. It doesnt have much done to it at all it has a cat back exhaust, STI top mount, SPT springs, running on 17 psi, its not the fastest thing on the street by any means, but it runs good and it will smoke my old B18 hatch all day. I dont mind the fuel mileage of the subaru, i had a 01 F350 diesel truck while i had the civic that i drove every day. The civic was just something to play with.
