People are beginning to wake up to what is happening.
Valdosta State's actions toward Barnes were reprehensible, and STUPID into the bargain. Do colleges think they're above the law?
It makes me miss the widespread campus protests of the 1970s. Whether one agreed with them or not, they spoke up in public. In those days college admins were afraid of them. Now they're too afraid of the left-wing faculty and their acolytes. Worms.
sure as long as the laws stay the same, but people never think about what will happen if the laws protecting our freedom of speech are altered.
The excuse will be a plea to emotion and fear, terrorism most likely. once the laws are change, centralization will accelerate at an alarming rate and... oh wait that's what's happening now.
that was fucking awesome. Keep fighting! I'm thinking about protesting the fact that they are tearing down their heritage by demolishing the old dorms and replacing them with gigantic monstrosities. Free speech should exist EVERYWHERE.
I agree that there should have been more investigating before they threw him out. But as for as tearing down the dorms where would you put the new dorms. VSU is surrounded by a residental area. I know I'm tired of living in a construction zone (I live in Converse) but understand that the school needs bigger dorms to satisfy its growing population.
This is true, but what the main reason I came down here is because of the coziness of the place. Small classes, not too terribly many people, etc. I don't know how universities work if they reach capacity, and if they are required by law to expand but they are getting rid of the reasons I came here and that saddens me. What year are you?
I'm a senior here. I went to ABAC before I came here though and saw them do the exact same thing. So what VSU is doing is going on all over the place.
Wow. It's suprising that Fox News covered this without some conservative spin on it.
Good for Barnes. We need more people like him.
