im about to enlist anybody have any advise on training for swcc, anything to talk to the recruiters about, what to do and not to do? any advice is appriciated thanks
@DevinWhiteman I was a SWCC for 4 years. There are lots of things to work on, but I'll keep it short. Lots of guys get leg injuries. Slowly get used to running a LOT. We ran boots everywhere everyday, something like 6mi per day, and PT runs (3-6mi). The PST is bullshit. You can make it through with low scores if you want it bad enough, but there is no reason to show up without something like this: 10min swim, 70-100 pushups and situps, 10-20 pullups, 10min run.
@CELIBERICO What makes your response factual? Not to jump to conclusions, but you guys really have to stop getting your information from the internet. If you haven't experienced it, you don't belong in a conversation or argument based on it.
@CELIBERICO you are right that SEALs are very proficient in the water. But do not run your mouth about who is this and that and the other. Green Berets, for example, choose the Berets cause that is what they wanted to do. Like the one guy said, you do not rate this type of thing on a scale. When you do things like this you look stupid. Plus, you are speaking offensively. I know guys that are in the Marines and a souple others in the Rangers. Both are very hard.
@icychillgrill3 my response, is stating fact, the SEAL's do deal with water. They do also taste the other elements as well. Furthermore, I am not running my mouth I am simply stating mere fact. You can rate on scale as with all things in nature, thats simply foolish not to do, I mean to gain perfection you must have some sort of scale to reach in order for perfection to be accomplished, so as with the Navy SEAL's, they are and you can rate them as simply the most Excellent of SPECWAR...
celiberico: what team were you on? most of my friends are seals but i am not (go swicc) and when i say that anyone on the teams would understand, we are the same but different but never any dissrespect (unless we were on the ship or in port) we allways stand up for eachother, period. all this bullshit is upsetting at the least
These aren't seals everyone these are swcc's (riverines) they do a lot of missions with seals and alot of seal stuff they just have a different name and don't get paid the same
Your worried about sharks but more people have been killed in a 100 mile radius on the road in the last 5 years then have been by sharks in the last 40.
I also want to say that soldiers are all good at what they do. If your in the military than you understand otherwise im not wasting anytime saying seals are the best or other units are the best because they all done great mission and all done mistakes so...
@CELIBERICO All spec ops endure harsh conditins mr Armchair ccommando. If it's not water it;s the jungle, the dessert the cold etc. If it comes to water let loose the royal marines 32 weeks as basic training and then let loose the SBS.
lol thats not new at all but that soldier or what ever is pretty sure it is .... if u knew about boats u would know boats gotta slow down to stop, but not this one this machine get a dry stop...on water o.O if that makes sense to u
i tried to find the terminology you're looking for, but he's referring to the boat they're using, the word he uses is most likely an acronym for the boat name......i.e. similar to a "rhib", rigid hull inflatable boat.....
Most SWCC guys are BUD/S drop outs. Either can't hack it or got injured (minor) during BUD/s. That's why it's called mini BUD/S. I said most not all. Still a lot better than being in an LSTs (large slow targets) HOO YAH!!!
you'd be surprised where else they show up, SEAL wash outs that is, they end up in other ratings too........ i've met 3 in the last week at my A school....and they all that swallowed pride about them, but i still give them credit for trying b/c it's not a regular man who can do it.....
lol you really dont have a life do you? as you've replied to my last comment 3 times. why would i "engage in a dialogue" with a complete moron? as i've already wasted enough time on you. as i've said before, just because you googled a couple facts and watched a few tv shows, doesnt mean you know the first thing about the sf. i've served with the special forces, i've trained with them, i've been through the schools. what have you done? thats right, nothing.
Just to clear it up for both of you commenting on who's best: SEALs and Green Berets have almost two seperate mission descriptions. Sure, they both kick in doors and shoot people in the face, but you won't ever see a GB take down a ship. Know what I'm saying? So, to say one is better than the other is like comparing apples to oranges. Figure it out.
You got you categorizations all wrong, in your list you included 4 United States Special Operations Commands these SOC's are NOT SF. Special Forces are apart of the US Army and are commonly called Green Berets.
Navy Divers are not apart of the SOC's and as far as I no aren't an individual organization within the Navy.
Based on Selection and Training Requirements my list would be
1) Green Berets
By far the hardest selection requirements and you have to be chosen by them, you have to learn another language, and in total becoming a Green Berets takes anywhere from 12 to 24 months percentage of people actually making it is as low as 15%
2) SEALs / SWCC
Notorious for it arduous training particularly out of our natural element in water, much higher pass rate then SF
My list was based on Selection and Training Requirements, I personally feel such information is the most reliable opposed what each SOC post as their own personal success rate. I can't help but feel such "public" statistics would be manipulated and keep in mind these are highly secretive Special Operation Commands their NOT telling you EVERY mission they engage and it's success rate. Though I admit I could be wrong. It's merely my opinion based on information I perceived as reliable.
the SEALs use to have 95% droput rate and sometimes classes have passed no one. Experts have said that BUD's and the rest of SEAL training is arguably the hardest military training in the world. That plus the fact that the SEALs get the best technology in the US military and all other military in the world plus having the edge on every terrain is why most people would say that SEALs have been leading the way. I really don't know I have respect for all Spec ops groups.
Also what do you mean "telling you every mission" I can assure you that the things you have seen about SEALs on tv or the internet etc are not even 99% of the things they've done and are obviously not secret anymore. The army special forces have had about just as much stories given as the SEALs and SAS.
Your just proving my point, what we see on tv and internet only covers 1% of what's actually going on, that's what I meant by SOCs being highly secretive about their missions, because of this absence of public information I choose not to consider mission success rates and so on, because 9 times out of 10 the data your shown isn't reliable.
The BUD's rate has been as low as nobody passing although the latest ones have been much more successful with passing trainees with more of a 15% rate...from what I've heard.
you facts, and statements couldnt be more incorrect. seal training/swcc takes anywhere from 55-85 weeks. anyone can submit a package for a beret candidate. buds prep/buds varies from 9% to 18% grad rate, when i went through we sat at a 12% grad rate. some classes dont graduate anyone. i understand your trying to support all areas of spec ops, but any info you read about on google, or on tv is gonna lead you in the wrong direction.
Fair enough, I'm not the normal ignorant commenter, I can consider the truth value of your statements, but could you please confirm anything you said. I understand where your coming from information isn't as reliable as someone whose been through the training like yourself, but on the same token, you haven't been through the Special Forces Assessment and Selection or Qualification Course.
On the other I can address you attempt to demean the Green Berets when you said "anyone can submit a package for a beret candidate" well it's an equivalent process engage in Seal training (which is fucking voluntary), given you've meet the basic requirement and score high enough on the intelligence test your clear to go, SF has an exceptional psych test and those who fail are rarely given a second chance, I don't know of the Seal's having such a test. Also, ALL Green Berets are Bilingual.
i never attempted to demean the gb's. anyone who can pass the physical challange, even more so the mental challang of any spec ops training, has all my respect. but all your facts you based your "ranking" of spec ops branches on was false. submitting a grean beret package IS voluntary, your opinion on psychology and intellect levels, is simply that, an opinion, you've never been through either, so you cant say the berets is any tougher than the next. and seal training, is just aslong as berets
If the have your respect why would state such a thing? Seal training is just as voluntary as SF, so why would you even put forth that issue, your methods are questionable! I openly admit what my listing were based off opinions but those opinions were VERY WELL educated and researched. Your fooling no one, I just used the same logic on yourself stating you aren't a GREEN BERET (in fact your a tad bit biased), at this point your thoughts are just as much opinions as mine. I'll freely state mine.
why would i state wha? i never said a buds package or contract wasnt voluntary, i simply said that a berets is voluntary, as you said it wasnt. your obviously not very well educated on the matter or you would of known that. how am i trying to fool anyone? ill openly admit ive been swcc for 2 years now. but you cant sit here and say berets are tougher than anyother branch, as you've never been through the opperation or training.
Oh wow, I see you misunderstood what I was implying and I could've been a lot clearer, what I implying the Special Forces Assessment and Selection 19 day course, in order to enter training.
I know of no such process regarding SEALs/SWCC (maybe you do?).
I've addressed your last point in previous comments but once again, I openly admit my opinion well researched and educated but nevertheless opinions, not facts, nor experience, on the same token YOU YOURSELF HAVE NO EXPERIENCE IN THE SF.
im not gonna sit here and say i agree with your logics, because in no way do i. when in fact i really dont understand why your so interested in any of this, because YOU YOURSELF HAVE NO EXPERIENCE IN THE SF, or even the militar at all for that matter. maybe instead of sitting around all day on youtube, talking about things you've googled about the sf, you could get up and put some of it to use.
One last things you failed to notice, I made that list based on selection and training requirements, not whose fucking tougher! the Green Berets and SEALs/SWCC we're pretty much equal the turning point for my self and this is an opinion was the requirement of all GB to become bilingual or at least take these courses and pass them, not exactly the easiest task for anyone.
Um this is based on the fiscal budget you can rate SF. Moreover, even JFK believe you can rank or "rate" SF hint why the development of the navy seals happened in the first place, its all based upon how much they would be needed and there success rate. Btw a1q2s3 you should google the success rate of the seals.
The boats are jet pump boats. Like a jet ski. There are a seperate set of controls that control the "buckets". Think of it like a scoop that drops down to redirect the flow of water from the back to redirecting the flow underneath the boat spraying forward.
Hey thats my cousin, Jeff Prosser. I never knew he made a video like this. F-ing Awesome. Ill Be Shipping for boot may 13 anyone have any suggestions? Thanks GO NAVY!!
im joining the Navy after highschool because my Grandpa was in the navy my Uncle was in the navy and now im ganna join the navy cause im intrested and it will be like a family tradition or something like that. U.S. Navy HOORAH
you're in the family, i hope to be in the next few weeks.........going into intelligence and communications. i just hope to meet a SEAL in my time in; the love and admiration is so deep man!
its really not that hard to meet a seal. 2 weeks ago i went to a public event where seal team 4 showed a fire team demonstration on a baseball field. F'ing sick... but then again the only reason i knew about it was because i am in a program that sets me up for a navy seal contract. they told me about it. and a bunch of us went. i might switch to swcc though.
NECC has there own boats built by the same company who build the SOC-R, similar but not to be confused with a SWCC's boat. the NECC craft is more of a patrol boat, where as the SOC-R is a high speed 880 bhp war boat baby....
NECC has a conventional riverine unit; SpecWar has a different type of riverine capability.
Special Boat Units/Teams fall under Special Boat Squadrons, all of which fall under NavSpecWar, which falls under SOCOMM.
To be a member of the SWCC community, you have to graduate from SWCC school; also complete SWCC-I (now CQT), and complete PQS and exam/board. Warrant Officers are groomed from among enlisted SWCCs. Regular O's in the boat community are GENERALLY senior SEAL O's & a few JOs.
Your are kidding me, right? There are a few positions for officers in the spec ops field, and those that are there are very deserving. However, most of the officers are the politicians that command, not the operators that run the boats.
Only way you can be an officer and be in the specwar community is to go through bud/s and become a SEAL. Like i said swcc is enlisted only, and just recently expanded to allow warrants.
You are correct, there are no commissioned officers in the SWCC community. However, SWCC falls under Naval Expeditionary Combat Command, which is run by Officers, so it is a matter of how far up you want to look. The OIC of these units is generally a Chief to Master Chief, with the occasional Warrant thrown in for good measure.
There are SWCC Warrant Officers. rhoffman is correct, DET OIC is usually a Chief Petty officer, although occasionally a JO (LT or lower) is the DET OIC.
LOL. Do fun stuff as an officer? If you like paperwork and long hours, go get your commission. I respect most officers because of the crap they have to put up with on a daily basis, not because of all the cool stuff they get to do. If you want to do the "fun stuff", go enlisted.

I choose the Green Berets over the SEALs for several reasons
1. Unlike the SEALs getting the opportunity to enter training and classes isn't voluntary
2. Getting selected to enter these classes incorporates psychology and intellect on levels I personally feel are unrivaled by any other SOC
3. They have to be trained to be bilingual
4. Almost all agents of the extremely elite Special Activities Division or the CIA are chosen from SF over SEALs and any other SOC
Training is 12 to +24 months

On the other I can address you attempt to demean the Green Berets when you said "anyone can submit a package for a beret candidate" well it's an equivalent process engage in Seal training (which is fucking voluntary), given you've meet the basic requirement and score high enough on the intelligence test your clear to go, SF has an exceptional psych test and those who fail are rarely given a second chance, I don't know of the Seal's having such a test. Also, ALL Green Berets are Bilingual.
a1q2s3 2 years ago
i never attempted to demean the gb's. anyone who can pass the physical challange, even more so the mental challang of any spec ops training, has all my respect. but all your facts you based your "ranking" of spec ops branches on was false. submitting a grean beret package IS voluntary, your opinion on psychology and intellect levels, is simply that, an opinion, you've never been through either, so you cant say the berets is any tougher than the next. and seal training, is just aslong as berets
rwsmith3623 2 years ago
If the have your respect why would state such a thing? Seal training is just as voluntary as SF, so why would you even put forth that issue, your methods are questionable! I openly admit what my listing were based off opinions but those opinions were VERY WELL educated and researched. Your fooling no one, I just used the same logic on yourself stating you aren't a GREEN BERET (in fact your a tad bit biased), at this point your thoughts are just as much opinions as mine. I'll freely state mine.
a1q2s3 2 years ago
why would i state wha? i never said a buds package or contract wasnt voluntary, i simply said that a berets is voluntary, as you said it wasnt. your obviously not very well educated on the matter or you would of known that. how am i trying to fool anyone? ill openly admit ive been swcc for 2 years now. but you cant sit here and say berets are tougher than anyother branch, as you've never been through the opperation or training.
rwsmith3623 2 years ago
Oh wow, I see you misunderstood what I was implying and I could've been a lot clearer, what I implying the Special Forces Assessment and Selection 19 day course, in order to enter training.
I know of no such process regarding SEALs/SWCC (maybe you do?).
I've addressed your last point in previous comments but once again, I openly admit my opinion well researched and educated but nevertheless opinions, not facts, nor experience, on the same token YOU YOURSELF HAVE NO EXPERIENCE IN THE SF.
a1q2s3 2 years ago
im not gonna sit here and say i agree with your logics, because in no way do i. when in fact i really dont understand why your so interested in any of this, because YOU YOURSELF HAVE NO EXPERIENCE IN THE SF, or even the militar at all for that matter. maybe instead of sitting around all day on youtube, talking about things you've googled about the sf, you could get up and put some of it to use.
rwsmith3623 2 years ago
One last things you failed to notice, I made that list based on selection and training requirements, not whose fucking tougher! the Green Berets and SEALs/SWCC we're pretty much equal the turning point for my self and this is an opinion was the requirement of all GB to become bilingual or at least take these courses and pass them, not exactly the easiest task for anyone.
a1q2s3 2 years ago
no offense man but you really cant "rate" special forces on a number scale.
omgxxxomg 2 years ago 29
Um this is based on the fiscal budget you can rate SF. Moreover, even JFK believe you can rank or "rate" SF hint why the development of the navy seals happened in the first place, its all based upon how much they would be needed and there success rate. Btw a1q2s3 you should google the success rate of the seals.

@omgxxxomg says who? What source? you? thats your opinion.
CELIBERICO 1 year ago
@CELIBERICO
i have no source, its like comparing Force Recon and Navy SEALs
yes, they are similar, and yes they do similar operations
you can compare them, but there's no real way to just say that one SF Unit is just better than another similar group
its like comparing apples and oranges
the same, but different
thats just my view however

You're leaving out Force Recon(MarSOC) and Delta Force.

Good point. Mine is based upon success rate...and fiscal budget. They are a really good SF.

whats the system that are like boat brakes?
thumbtack4 2 years ago
The boats are jet pump boats. Like a jet ski. There are a seperate set of controls that control the "buckets". Think of it like a scoop that drops down to redirect the flow of water from the back to redirecting the flow underneath the boat spraying forward.

you're in the family, i hope to be in the next few weeks.........going into intelligence and communications. i just hope to meet a SEAL in my time in; the love and admiration is so deep man!
mayhemlee 2 years ago
its really not that hard to meet a seal.

@eazyjae1 fuck yeah good luck man. i take my seal pst soon.

If you go to NROTC in college and become an Officer, you have more opportunities than a normal enlist, and you get to do more of the fun stuff. Hehe.
JSR413 4 years ago
you can't do this job and be an officer. swcc is enlisted only, and only recently have started a warrant program.
jpogara 4 years ago
Your are kidding me, right? There are a few positions for officers in the spec ops field, and those that are there are very deserving. However, most of the officers are the politicians that command, not the operators that run the boats.
rhoffman97051 4 years ago
Only way you can be an officer and be in the specwar community is to go through bud/s and become a SEAL. Like i said swcc is enlisted only, and just recently expanded to allow warrants.
jpogara 3 years ago
Officers are in the SEAL program but I don't think SWCC has any Officer billets.
redSG 3 years ago
You are correct, there are no commissioned officers in the SWCC community. However, SWCC falls under Naval Expeditionary Combat Command, which is run by Officers, so it is a matter of how far up you want to look. The OIC of these units is generally a Chief to Master Chief, with the occasional Warrant thrown in for good measure.
rhoffman97051 3 years ago
CWO's are hardcore... I'll never ever disrespect one, let alone a Chief. They made Chief for a reason.
redSG 3 years ago
Wrong about who we fall under...
speedster1219 3 years ago
SWCC is part of NSW which is part of SOCOM, not NECC
ocdruma 3 years ago
There are SWCC Warrant Officers. rhoffman is correct, DET OIC is usually a Chief Petty officer, although occasionally a JO (LT or lower) is the DET OIC.
lajollafire 3 years ago
you have to be E-5 or below
ehs140 3 years ago
LOL. Do fun stuff as an officer? If you like paperwork and long hours, go get your commission. I respect most officers because of the crap they have to put up with on a daily basis, not because of all the cool stuff they get to do. If you want to do the "fun stuff", go enlisted.
