  • Nice! I got tired watching! Really good form and structure! Makes me want to train!

  • i've seen so many sprining leg from all types of people from all ages, and it is by far the best. great!

  • Yup - my first thought was good bu fa for sure

  • train harder!lol

  • Nice form. I learned some Tan Tui a while ago but based on what I've seen on the internet so far, I am guessing I only learned 1 road. It's a very short sequence. It's also quite different from other Tan Tui and done like an internal art.

  • I've also learned the Tan Tui. However, mine is different to this as it has 12 sections and not 10.

I've also searched for videos of the Tan Tui on Youtube and they're all different. I guess different schools have different methods.

  • that guy must have quite strong legs! Though I'd like to know the applications of some moves because they look kind of weird to me (on the tan tui 5, 6, 7)

  • No kidding! He has very good stances. It's neat to see most of the same tan tui's our school learns. Though four and ten look different from what I'm used to, everything else was instantly recognizable, especially eight and nine.

    Thank you for posting this!

  • hi! here are the performer's responses

    Bruce Liao:

Hey, I am Bruce Liao, the one who did the moves in 2001. The moves from Tan Tuei's first to eighth set can be used for both kicking and punching and wrestling. To make it easier, I can tell you how the 5, 6 and 7 sets are used in combat.

  • Tan Tuei 5:block upward with the left arm and punch with the right fist, which then turn and outward and protect the lower body, and then kick with the right leg. Tan Tuei 6: grab the attacker's right wrist and turn it to the left side of your body, stab with the right palm, move the right palm to protect the lower body, and lastly, kick with the right leg, which is followed by the right palm.

  • Tan Tuei 7: grab the right arm of the attacker from the inside and punch with your right fist, followed by your left fist, and then use the left arm to block upward and punch with the right fist. Then you turn left to grab the attacker's right leg and kick with your right leg. All the sets of moves go from the left side of the body and then go on to do the mirror image moves with the right side of your body. Hope all this make you know what I was doing.

  • although there is some variation in expression, this is the same 10 road routine i learned. Interesting!

  • Many teachers may have their different expressions

    Thank you!!
