Because CBS was holding out hope for a Kerry win in OH. Generally speaking, a 51-49 win even in a large state normally gets called when about 85% are in.

Also this was the 1st election after 2000 and no-one wanted to make a mistake like they did in calling Florida too early & having to retract. Also, CBS historically has always been the last network to call a state.

That applies double to his tax cuts, which have succeeded only in increasing our deficit by a huge amount while getting more money to the rich.

Clinton deregulated the economy. It was Bush and McCain who warned the democrats about a future economic crisis. What Reagan did was bring back the days from the Roaring 20s. Just go and ask Clinton because the exact samething happened to him in 94. When a reccession hit us under Clinton his approval was extremely low and his presidency was in danger. The only thing that saved him was the balanced budgedt proposed by the Republican congress. Clinton was then forced to take a moderate stance on the issues.

Although Kerry would've won Ohio, he could've campaigned in Colorado and Missouri and Iowa. His first pick for VP was Dick Gephardt from MI, IO is a neighbouring purple state, and Colorado is his birth purple state which is gun loving like him. Had he aimed for winning those states, he would've won the election with or without Ohio. (He could also have had WV or NM, but that's being a bit generous.)

I think Vilsack would have done the same thing as well, winning MO and IA. Right when Kerry announced he chose Edwards I knew he'd lose. Edwards truly may go down as the worst VP pick in history.

I think you're giving too much weight to a VP choice. Even Al Gore didn't carry his own state when he ran for Prez. So, I doubt Gebhardt would have mattered in the VP slot. I don't think it matters that he got more votes than other Dems in Colorado. It was an unwinnable state that by the end he had to stop putting money into. He only lost by 100,000 in Ohio, and the money could have mattered there. Curious why you think Gephardt is such an all-star? Edwards is just as popular I've found.

I do; just have to dig through my 200+ VHS tapes (unlabeled :() and find it. I also have 8hr of tape from the also-stolen Election 2000. It was basically the same music without the strings in the background; it was just the percussion and horns, along with that other instrument.
