  • The same thing about corruption and similar problems are all over post Soviet space.

Armenia has no resources, is landlocked, blockaded on both sides by Turks, had earthquake that devastated all of the north + fought a bloody resource consuming war for 5 years.

Regardless Armenia is developing and will continue to do so since that is the nature of the Armenian people and not what we have today which is because of such dismal mismanagement (common all over USSR) as a result of "privatization."

  • It does, because Azerbaijan is full of natural resources, while Armenia does not have oil and gas like the Azeris. Armenia's number one natural resource are the Armenian people.

Armenia was 3.7 million during early 1990s now its is 3.1 million and this despite the collapse of USSR, earthquake and war. Like I said, populations virtually in ALL USSR countries dropped. Despite all of this, Armenia's population and economy (even with ongoing worldwide crisis) are growing.

  • Tell that to Ilham Aliev "president for life" and Azeris who live in poverty and do not have control of their own natural resources. With all the shortcomings Armenian president actually led the fight against Azeri Turkic aggressors and yes he is being pressured into these "talks" which have nothing to do with Armenia and Armenian people. Sooner or later Turks WILL admit that they are guilty of committing a horrific genocide that set a precedent for many genocides to follow.

  • ALL of USSR territory went through this upheaval thanks to meddling by no other than also your Turkic kinsmen in NATO Turkey. Turkic Azerbaijan went through the same thing plus they LOST when they tried to occupy a land that does not belong to them. Armenians won so their sacrifice was WELL WORTH IT.

  • I'm not interested in criticising Armenia, a nation surrounded by traditional enemies.

However, what cannot go unnoticed is the Turkish Premier's recent comments describing China's crackdown on CIA-orchestrated riots in Urumqi as "a genocide", along with trade sanctions.

The fact that a riot, in which 137 of the 156 dead were Han Chinese, can be regarded as a genocide of Uighurs instead, tells you almost everything you need to know about that unreformed Ottoman-leftover.

  • Russia, China, Armenia and Iran in the East this is what holds Pan-Turkism which as you can see by such statements is nothing short of a thinly veiled foreign policy. These Turks have staked claims on VAST lands which do not belong to them since their origin is in Siberian Yakutia (even Central Asia was originally not Turkic) now the Turks are helping to boil things in Xianjiang and are using the Turkic Uighurs there just like they used Chechens and Tatars in Russia.

  • the fucking turk muslim bastards now in power should apologize for the armenian genocide.Islamic politicism should be eliminated from Turkey and the Ataturk's policies restored.Death to fucking muslims.

  • Very Very bad move for Armenia !!

Turks havent even recognise the armenian

genocide and this also mean more dirty turks

will be infesting in armenia's borders

  • I totally agree this is completely wrong. Turkey has to first of all admit the FACT that it has committed a genocide against Armenians and recognize the Treaty of Sevres which it is a signatory to.

During World War I AND World War II Turkey had amassed a huge army in order to wipe out Armenia and continue further into Russia. They were stopped a a terrible cost of Genocide...and today they continue their Pan-Turkism by funding insurgencies in North Caucasus, and Turkic republics in Russia.

  • Armenia1918 even if they admit it, that won't change the fact that the border is illegal in the first place. I oppose all goods made in that seljuk shit country. I also don't buy their dog food called doner kebap. We won't benefit from this as they will try to resettle their kurds, moving them further away into Armenia.

  • True, the border IS illegal since Armenia stretches all the way to the Halis river (including Greater Armenia, Lesser Armenia and Cilicia) which have been populated by Armenians since time immemorial (open any Classical map).

That is a good point about the Seljuks. The Turks like to boast about their Altaic roots which they love so much. Who is stopping them to return where they came from? That of course, will not bring much of civilization and people that have been wiped out over millennia....

  • Armenia won't benefit from this, the turks will just send their 22 million kurds over the border killing two birds with one stone. Putting an end to our state and at the same time getting rid of their kurdish problem is their number one objective. Our leaders are treacherous bastards.

  • Nah, they'll just try to fill our country with thousands of MIT agents.

  • This is a very generous move from Armenia. I doubt Turkey will react honourably.

  • Yet, Turkey keeps pushing for preconditions. Yippee.
