  • Wow i love this car,what can i say :)

  • holy dd titties, that was fuckin nasty.

  • when you are in M mode or in lauch control, do you completly loose control on the wheel , can you loose easily the control in a curve like exemple ???

  • Guys,if you are brave to fuck warranty, you can take a hack for manual transmission and have launch control, but not like this one

  • the fun just never stops.

  • ok so i am about to pull the trigger on a 2011 competition package m3 and i need some advice, manual or DCT??? PLEASE HELP!

  • @nonamedsaint >>> Are you going to use it for track ? drifting ? racing ?

  • @nonamedsaint top gear just tested it on S16E05 they say stick to the original.

  • @nonamedsaint

definetly dct i've driven both, and its day and night difference

trust me on this one bro get the dct

  • @nonamedsaint Dct bro it has manaul all ready and manaul and be a bitch sometimes so get Dct

  • @nonamedsaint I have a 2010 m3 DCT myself, I wouldn't think of going manual. People find that a lot of cars with paddles control themselves through the gears. In the //M's your in complete control. It's great fun, just my opinion though

  • @nonamedsaint this is probably the best place to ask for advice about getting a car that expensive. wise choice dude.

  • @nonamedsaint DCT

    manual 0-100 (4.8sec)

DCT (4.2 sec ) . same with the lambo gallardo

  • 8400 rpms:D

  • Question??? Is the e92 M3 an package that you can get with the standard M3 model? or why does the standard M3 top speeds are 155 mph and e92 M3 is 270 mph???

  • I love how the camera jolts back

  • could you upload a video of the steps you do for setup the flag icon and all the stuff..?? PLEASE MAN!!!

  • @BaezRdz hi sorry to be late,, I wana know what do u do exactly after u get the flag ? the steps are : U don't need to shift at all ,, the steps are : 1- Stop the car 2- Switch off DSC 3- Increase drive logic to 6 4- Put it in S mode & keep holding on gear one (don't let go) 5- U'll see a flag in the middle of the diplay panel 6- Put ur foot down fully & don't left it even 1 cm from gas The rpm will build up up to 5500 & the minute u let go of the gear it will fly..
  • how do you turn launch control on exactly? my couzin has one and am not sure how he does it....is this something standard with stock or do u need to do separately or an accessory? coz he never mentioned it...

  • @LilB1st Okay, from my understanding, you need the DCT M3, so here goes!

    1) Put into M1 (manual 1st gear)

    2) By the shifter, press "Power" so it's on.

    3) " ", press "DSC" so it's off. The (!) sign pops up.

    4) On the button with bars, increase it so that 6 bars are displayed on the screen.

    5) Press and hold the shifter forward. The flag pops up.

    6) Floor it.

    7) Brace.

    8) Release the shifter.

    9) HOLD ON FOR DEAR LIFE!! :D

  • @LilB1st

1- Stop the car 2- Switch off DSC 3- Increase drive logic to 6 4- Put it in S mode & keep holding on gear one (don't let go) 5- U'll see a flag in the middle of the diplay panel 6- Put ur foot down fully & don't left it even 1 cm from gas The rpm will build up up to 5500 & the minute u let go of the gear it will fly..

  • hahah love how the speedometer doesn't know what the hells going on at the end of first gear (0:05) until the tires grab traction. nice.

  • I love how the camera jolts back when it takes off, its like you can really feel it

  • trade for my 2003 e46 ? ;p

  • FASTT

    ///M

  • I meant 6mt is there launch control on 6mt

  • @LiLRJ55 yea rev it up and drop the clutch =]

  • Is this only for DCT or Manuel as well??

  • DCT is basicly a manuel which has an auto twist to it so u could see it as a more faster to shift manuel

  • oh my god

    that is IMPRESSIVE!

  • I freakin love this car !!! I would like to know if when in this launch-control mode do you have to upshift yourself or is it doing that on its own. Because the shift lights dont show like in your other vid.

The fact that you know it will go into the limiter if you dont upshift kinda makes you feel more part of the car.

With Volkswagens DSG you cant do that in any mode, it will always upshift for you.

  • when ur in launch control mode it shifts for you provided ur never left ur foot off the pedal

  • I can't get the flag icon to appear. What am I doing wrong?

  • sorry for the late answer.. pls tell me what are the steps ur doing exactly ?

  • @abboodeno1

can u write me ur steps plz ??

  • @mantis4000 Here you go...

  • @abboodeno1 hey man help me please.. i've already make the 2000kms service.. today i pick up the car... and the flag appears now.. but when i want to do it.. the car just dont go, i don't know how to explain, the flag appears, i accelerate and then when i want to launch the m3 just stay idle...

  • @kww0311 if your car is new.. you have to wait until the first oil change at 2000kms and then the flag will appear.. and if it's no that you are doing the wrong steps.. in the m forum they explain you how to do it.. i am having the same problem but my car its just 1000kms... can @abboodeno1 tell uss how to do it?

  • Fuck that's quick!

  • Great Great Great Great Great Great Great !!!!

  • Thanks :)

  • useally he mus have better traction

  • depends on the street and weather

  • also everything is faster than my father's VW touran :S

  • That was one HELL of a launch!!!!

  • Imagine when u do it ur self,,, super cool :)

  • that was one the best launches i've seen on youtube

  • Thanks :)

  • BMW FOR EVER!!!!. Seriously the ultiate driving machine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :DDDDDDD. WOHA!!! wonder what the next m5 will be like

  • Yeah,, I really wonder what the new M5 would be,,, I think it would be a V8 twin turbo

  • it is supposed to get the same motor as the X5 M and X6 M. 4.4L Twin Turbo 555hp :-)

  • you know M division only uses naturally aspirated engines

  • really? explain the X5M and X6M

  • wrong mate, check out the new M Version of the X5 and X6

  • aparrently it will be that new V8 in the X5M and X6M the one with 550 hp and sounds like a ferrari V8

  • Nice wheelspin into second.

  • U can't.. if u want to use launch control the traction has to bo fully off

  • So what is your quickest 0-100 time?

  • The guys at the dealership told me not to do the launch.. I had my M3 for about a month now and still haven't tried it. I really haven't had the time to mess with the settings, any suggestions? Check my video

  • So , u like me to help in the steps of LC ?

  • hi can you help me with the steps of LC? i get stuck once you take the foot of the brake and the flag comes up, then i rev rev but the car does not take off. what do i have to do to make it go after reving? thanx in advanced

  • 1- Dont take off ur foot off the pedal u have to push the pedal all the way even after the lunch starts or the gear will not change automatically.

2- In order to get the flag ur pushing the gear knob upwards,, so dont release it,, rev the engine ,, keept reving when u want to go just let go of the gear knob... thats it. :)

  • das ist eben "Made in Germany" (=

  • Exactly !! :) I like german products

  • I just got one with the M-DCT..... Its on point! Check it out on my videos

  • damn, that things got a lot of torque..

u hear it wheel spin at the beginning of 2nd and 3rd gear shift changes, even when its already moving..

  • water

  • excuse me,, water?

  • nachos82: water

    LOL. Best comment on YouTube.

  • I hope it's not a bad thing :)

  • i fucking love that sound when the car hits 120kph....its the same in all BMW's

it brings back good memories of driving an M5

  • in the end everyone would love to have an old fashioned 6mt, and i agree with all of you that dct, dsg and all double clucht an semi automatic transmisions are faster than an mt but by the way, driving a car with a mt is all passion, soul, low cost, easy repair and weight saving

  • wow it spun all the way to 80kmph

  • no one can shift at 100 mili secs..look at ferrari and over 80% being sold with the f1 trac system.. 6mt is old.. i still like it but for a sunday drive..who wants to drive an hour or 2 in traffic with a 6mt? esp in winter? the only people who can come close to those shift times of the dct are pro drivers and even they can't do it with consistency..look at road and track..like a .5 diff 0-60.. anyone telling me the 6mt is consistently faster is smoking something other than cig..crack maybe?

  • Friend of mine worked for Hessing in Holland ( Exclusive car import/dealer ). They had this beautifull MT Lamborghini Gallardo 2006 in White/Black. It took 2 years to sell that thing. But they sold like 30 Gallardo's with the e-gear gearbox. The people who bought that thing told us the same.

  • drove both 6mt and dct and there is no way in hell i would get the 6mt.. the dct just kicks ass.. and the car feels sooo much faster. the difference btween .5 in a 0-60 run is HUGE.. the feeling when you accelerate is fast is much more fun than putting your left foot down and shifting. you will get wheel spin in the winter no matter what.. in the summer i had virtually no wheel spin when i drove the dct.. i was really impressed though not as smooth as my 335 and with my tune. and 420 ft/lbs tq

  • M-DCT feels like a slushbox, too boring. I drove both of them and M3 6MT feels a lot more sportier and actually requires some driver's skills to drive. The M-DCT is just a slushbox with 2 clutches. Feels not much different than the new lock-up "direct shift" automatics I have driven.

Interestingly, the 6MT always has proven quicker around a race track because DCT does not allow downshifts in corner. Driver's republic did a drag race and the 6MT M3 won by 1.5 car lengths up to 120 mph.

  • They did over 10 drag races using different settings in the M-DCT and the 6MT won every single time. The plausible explanation they gave was that the M-DCT is 50 pounds heavier, has a slightly higher drivetrain loss, has a lag in shifts, which offsets the actually shifting speed advantage over the 6MT. The 6MT was faster.

  • abboodeno1....i just got an e92 m3 myself...the dealer told me that they see how many launches you do so they can cancel your warranty if they see you do it too many times. Any word on this?

also, you can change the street speed limit...

hope your enjoying the car as much as i am :)

  • Yes it would cancel ur warranty if you use it too many times. there is no number but just try not to do alot in a short time.

No I cant change the limit.

    I'm,, enjoy :)

  • actually the m3 dct is much much faster than the manual.. even on a track.. the 0-60 times are .5 seconds quicker and .8 -.9 in the 1/4...sport auto's like in the 335 and dual clutches like in the new m3 and porsche's kill manuals..look at ferrari..any test they do it's with the f1 type system..not a manual and some they don't even offer manuals any more.. they are going to be a thing of the past in ten years as they are looking that way now since more than 80% of new ferrari's have the f1 sys

  • Very good reply,, that's exactly what I'm trying to say for a long time

  • so what? how often will that .5 matter, the manual is 100 times more exciting

  • The real driver should buy a Manual Transmission. But there's one thing that keeps it unselling on many new sports cars. The money you get from Reselling. And some people like to say to other people ''Have you seen my new car my friend? I bought a new BMW M5.'' Lovely car yes, but my 335i DCT changes gears much faster'' OUCH! And believe me or not, I've experienced that conversation. It was on a birthdayparty. But it wasn't me. I have to live with a VW

  • idk what car you have but VW's are great cars...and 335i does not have a double clutch transmission...

  • Oh yes they do!

  • uhh, no they don't.

  • 335i's in europe have the DCT as an option.

  • its offered on 2009 models overseas

  • thats fast

  • is the rpm on the launch control adjustable?

  • Yes with ur cruise conrtol lever

  • 4 seconds 0-100?

  • No more,, it should be around 4.4 but there was lots of wheel spin

  • There is a recall on M-DCT software reprogram, which alleviates a part of the problem. The lag is still there when getting off the line from a dead stop. Go check the recall out. Not to mention, it has been well documented that the DCT refuses to downshift around a race track during turns. Driver republic magazine raced an M-DCT M3 vs 6MT M3 and the 6MT M3 won by 1.5 car lengths. The theory was that 6MT is 50 pounds lighter and more efficient (less drivetrain loss).

  • A few Q's: does the DCT handle the shifts for you in launch control?

have you tried launching at other RPM?

do you hold the accelerator at midpoint during the wheel spin or do you floor it right at launch?

  • Yes the DCT does the shifting..

Yes ull find another video under my name

you have to floor it all the way or it will cancel the launch

  • what was the beepin at :13???

  • It's the speed limiter

  • What? Whats the limit?

  • it does not limit the speed it just notifies u of the street speed limit

  • that launch control seems pointless...all you did was spin the tires for 4-5 seconds. im fairly certain you could get better times without it.

the cobalt ss is a good example of that. most good drivers can get better times with it off.

  • This launch control was my first, also the street caused that wheelspin..

If it was a better street I'm sure ull be amazed by the result

  • hmm... thats cool i like this... but how can u rev it up to 5000 and than start... i ask because its automatic gearbox and you don't do that with brake... is that an DCT option ?

  • Yes it's Launch Control option

  • aaa ok ok thnx on iformations :D

    nice car ;) btw

  • Hmmm. Why werent the F1 shift lights appearing? Did you not have it on the fastest shift mode?

  • Coz the shifting happens automatic in Launch Control

  • Hmmm..good observation. I didnt even realize that.

  • I think you shouldn't be pedal mashing the first 5 seconds. All you get is tons of wheel spin.

  • U have to do it this way or the launch control will cancel

  • or you will stall the clutchs

  • Do you preset at how many revs the car will launch? On the other vid you launch the car at 4500rpm.

  • It was around 5300-5400 rpm

  • yeah that was a lot of wheel spin but that really is unbelieveable, that car is amazing

  • i was amazed how quick it is but..... i timed it twice and the fist time i got 5.19 0-100 and second time i got 5.18 0-100.. i thought it would have gotten mid 4's.. but still sexy car

  • u probably got 5.18 coz of all that wheel spin.. if it was a better street it would be around 4.4

  • yeh i thought bout that.. sounds right.. thanx

  • that is fucking cool as fuck how the screen shows a race flag, I would get in lots of trouble with this car

  • Wow.....shifting at 8.5K is pretty sick!

    Sounds beefy too

  • goduria pura

  • English pls :)

  • what was the red light at the end, was that the limit light?

  • Yes,, the limit light :)

  • OMG I love BMW and we have X3...but not with 4 liter V8 and 8300 revs :-D....Jeremy Clarkson say about M6 "It´s Biblicaly fast!"....and for this M3 I use this words too ;-)

  • heheh... I agree

  • Hey Mr A. Great video. Thanks for the inspection today. Really nice car. Brgds bmw 550i :-)

  • Hey... thx.. we have to test it some day :)

  • then how do you explain the massive wheelspin when he started at 5000+rpm?

  • slow car but not bad

  • If this is slow.. I don't know what's fast

  • You should decrease the rpm at max 4000rpm, then you won't have that much wheelspin. I drove my friends M6 a few days ago and I got my best launch at 4000rpm, so i think it should be the same. Great vid anyway, hope you come with a new and better one soon...

  • that is not correct. in performance launch mode the wheelspin is controlled by the clutch to a certain maximum wheelspin and you will not get a better acceleration with decreasing the start rpm in launch control.

  • Well.. guys I think with better grip and lower rpm I can get a better launch

  • Thanks I'm plannig 4 a new vid soon

  • ماشاء الله قومته وايد قوية .. الله يعطيك خيرها ويكفيك شرها

  • Compared to videos of well-launched 6MT E92 M3 on youtube, it looks as quick or maybe a tad quicker than a 6MT. Roughly, they both are same in acceleration. Granted, the DCT will run more consistently due to consistent shift times than 6MT. On best runs for both cars, they are equal in acceleration. To summarize, 6MT is more fun and more involving allowing more control while M-DCT is more convenient, easy to drive and more consistent in its operation.

  • MT could be more fun but I would hate it in a crowded city.. I think with a better street & lower rpm I could do better

  • what kind of tires are on the car?

  • michelin tires

  • The DCT has confirmed times of 4.1 seconds 0-60 mph, and 9.7 seconds 0-100 mph. It also traps the quarter 2 mph faster. It is WAY faster on the track as well. In other words, it is WAY faster than the 6MT, whether or not it is as fun is a personal preference, however

  • Fully agree

  • Car and Driver actually got a faster 0 - 140 mph time for the 6MT. They both were tied for the 1/4 mile with the DCT being 0.1 secs faster than the 6MT in 0 - 100 mph. Granted 6MT requires a lot more driver's skills (it is a sports car what do you expect?) than the DCT which will run the same numbers with even my granny driving, it is only more consistent. Overall, with a very good driver in 6MT, it will be a driver's race.

  • I don't trust every thing C&D says.. the did lots of mistakes

  • Motor Trend also got similar results with the M-DCT being only 0.1 secs faster than the 6MT to the quartermile (12.6 secs for M-DCT coupe vs 12.7 secs for 6MT Sedan). I will repeat again, with a good driver in the 6MT, it is a driver's race ALL THE WAY. Where the M-DCT has the advantage is even with a 70 year old grandma behind the wheel, it will always post consistent numbers since everything is computer controlled whereas, 6MT requires racing skills to get the best.

  • I agree that manual needs a good driver,, but DCT can't be driven (good) by any one. Try to shift before the limiter & tell me

  • wow amazing

  • What shift times? The DCT is pretty much instant. It engages one clutch, as it disengages the other one. There is no shift time...you hit the paddle, and it hits the next gear with absolutely no lag.

  • No coicidence the low fuel chime occurs halfway though the launch.

I got a lot less wheel spin on my launches, I guess it depends on the road surface.

  • Road surface or I could decrease the rpm

  • Looked like 5 secs flat to 60

  • And that with alot of wheelspin

  • I think you need to try launching with the RPMs a bit lower, say 4500RPM, you had too much wheelspin - but impressive none the less!

  • I fully agree , this was my 1st test I wanted to post the video very fast so ppl can see how it works

  • WoW mashallah..... can you give me a ride :P

  • Thx... any time :)
