Cameron heads off down the wrong road here from the offset. i like the idea of British PM @ Zeitgeist but only if he's going to embrace what ZM means. What the British people hate is the all too willingness for politicians to carry on enforcing laws and rules that they rally against when in opposition. Thatcher (spit) shafted us all and it seems as though the politicians of today couldn't thank her enough. I hope a change is coming and it can't benefit those in power. Control (by autocracy) must cease. intelligent society must rebel. (which it won't) Post-burocracy is an all too believable myth.
Freedom?? If you don't work, you don't get money - and you need to pick a job thats localy available, competing with hundreds of others. And no. You can't become President of the United States if you put your mind to it.
"Never have the British people been treated with such cynicism" Youre right Cameron...we can barely believe you are such a bought and paid for puppet traitor.
i still cant believe he won.. people can be really simplistic when they hear "it's time for a change". Well, it is, but getting the tories back to power is a fucking bad change! The cuts alone are almost as bad as the troops in Iraq; i just wanna see how they'll manage to convince the public, during the next elections, and - fucking hopefully not - win again!
you can tell that when he cracks the Schwarzenegger and ebay gag's that these events never actually happened. This guy turns me. When his party deliberately change wikipedia facts to prove him right it makes me think that Orwells 84 will be in place soon seeing as the Sun newspaper has just changed sides. Pathetic comic book anyway
i like david cameron he speaks from the heart. well lets face it , he can't do any worst than the (crazy gang) labour party. when he gets to be priminister in the uk 2010. thx for the nice post come on david you have the backing of the british people
David Cameron does not have the backing of the British people, he has the backing of the corporations and banks.
How can you like a person, that systematically rapes you and your family of its natural culture and personal wealth while at the same times smiles at you telling you that its a necessary sacrifice?
Politics...
Poly = Plastic fake man made.
Tics = Blood sucking parasites.
Its all there you just have to cut through the bullshit!!
Its funny you know when ever I chat to people at work about the national deficit I ask them who do you think we are paying back??
They can never answer me and when I rtell them its the banks whio we pailed out in the first place, thier eye's go all glazed over. Its like most sheeple know whats going on but they cannot face up to the reality because they want fame and fortune or something...
Because every now and then, Cameron or Jeremy Paxman, or someone in a tv role says something like (and cameron is aPERFECT example):
"well, of course there are always the conspiracy theorists, who will try to turn this into something its not, but im appealling to all sensible people, to do the right thing, and trust those in power, to do the rigth thing, and not get carried away with fantasy".
Seriously, i am with you - i TOTALLY understand about the "glazed" look. Its a PERFECT description.
My borther looks at me, as though he's looking thorugh my head, and smiles as though he's dreaming, and then says "oh yeah, i know, its terrible" (he doesnt mean it, at all - but he would rather offend me, by brushing over it, than talk about the hippocracy of it all)
He took the blue pill !
It really is like there's 2 types of people, now - barins and no brains !
Also, as you say, the "twitch, twitch" factor starts, when you say "how can we pay them back what we didnt borrow?"
Or, if THEY lost the money, and we BAILED THEM OUT, then WHY are we paying them MASSIVE interest ? - is it because we borrowed the bailout money, off the people who asked us to bail them out ?"
At that point, they feel likeyou've just asked them if they would like to join the local bird spotting club, and be your best friend, forever
As far as im concerned, a "hoodie" who's gonna mug someone has more sense than the average office worker.
Why ?
Cus when they mug someone, they call it "taxing"
THEY, ironically, have a grasp of irony, which is WAY beyond the level of their unintelligent victim, who thinks that taxing means robbing, in "hoodie" language.
In reality, the mugger is taking on the authoritive role, against the normally willing victim- DOH!
I cannot stand this used car salesman especially when Google give the goon a platform that is not open to public interaction and debate. Unemployment 3 times higher than it is today,Wales suffered worst recessions since WW2,interest rates hit 15% for a whole year, inflation hit 10%,over 8,000 hospital beds were cut in WALES ALONE,and over 70 hospitals were CLOSED,recorded crime doubled,Public spending on housing was cut by over £100m,Tories still singing the same old bullshit tune..tell them to sing it somewhere else. Hell preferably. Yeah bring back the tories.....NEVER thanks. How quickly some people forget.
interest rates were not 15% for a year, just a few days; inflation briefly hit 10% becasue the economy overheated - what a contrast the stagflation and buggered up Labour economy of the 70s, crippled by the coomunist unions- and what about all the waste of the Welsh assembly- billions down the drain. Brown is shit and will be booted out next time, no question.
I agree. Citizens must become more empowered and information access for citizens can play a part. But with this and votes we need money too. Why not return more of our money to citizens, fairly and individually, so that we can make our own decisions? The practical working of ideas to achieve the citizen empowerment that David Cameron wants are in my book The Free Lunch -- Fairness with Freedom. A word to describe a theme of the post-bureaucratic era that Cameron wants is citizenization.
Something got missing, though. Today's companies have to be as economically efficient as possible. In doing so responsibility comes way after profit and only few of the stock holders really care about the people working for them. This holds true for environmental issues too. I'm therefore not sure if asking a totally free and uncontrolled economy for help in sharing responsibility is a very profitable endeavour :-/

Convince people about real empowerment through politics?
How can you have real empowerment if someone is making decisions for you and guiding your life the way "they" see it??
This isn't the REAL Zeitgeist...
Its here don't be fooled, this is propaganda.

Oh, sry, he does believe in one thing...that he thinks he should be prime minister.

Well somebody obviously took his argument straight off a Guardian headline.
Listen to the speech, there's a clear strand running through it:
individuality,
sceptisism of big government and power
de-centralization of power
faith in business and capitalism to produce efficiency and act as a force for good.
That's called, ermm, Conservatism.

@geezahh:
He's now about to SELL OUR FORESTS (in other words, he;s selling the land we stand on) to the bankers, for about £100 million (chicken feed).
AFTER he's sold it, they will announce where they've found gold, silver and all sorts of riches. Maybe even oil.
But for now, he's saying we need the money, to pay our debts, and its only dirt and trees.
He's selling our land to JEWISH BANKERs, like Rothschild and Rockerfella etc., and it wont even knock a DENT in the fake bailout debt !
