Staus Quo - Whatever You Want. Yeahhhhhhh!!!! I want to scream it from the roof top. WHATEVER YOU WANT!!!!. Status Quo had a rhythm to grabbed your heart and made you rock.
Brilliant intro to this song (always makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up). I'd say early to mid 70's was the bands classic period up to the Glasgow Apollo live album. They started to go a tad formulaic after that imo but could still come up with the goods now and again as is evident here. Living On An Island was also a class song from '79 imo. Still a fine live band.
You know I am an unabashed Quo snob, refusing to listen to anything after the "Quo" album of 1974. But shit, you know what? This may just about be THE best track the band ever recorded. Classic boogie, phenomenal melody, crunching sound and straight out of the Piledriver and Hello School of Classic Licks.
ep, I'm converted. Mean Girl 4th, Backwater 3rd, Aprils Spring Summer and Wednesdays 2nd.
....and this is their finest moment. Ever. Nice one lads...I had well and truly given up on you too.
