@Ilumiknight well if you do a 3 tc boom and then put a 4th on gold late you can go up with less pop and u can do a fast imp wtih turks without having a messed up economy. thats what stelity showed me and its much more effective.

@EaGlEsFaN123100 That's certainly not standard though as the standard boom is 30 minutes with 100+ villagers. This is not my best turk rush though as I've done much faster before. The point of a build like this (although it should be a 24 minute imperial age) is to catch the opponent off guard with an absurdly early imperial age, I was not attempting an earlier boom.

Did you have your firewall off when u were playing? It may not be the most necessary question... but I've seen your other videos which explains how to play with other players online... or in multiplayer. I have quite a phobia of turning off my firewall from what I'm experienced with my first computer. If that's what u did, it would really encourage me.

@shishkabob50 It can vary from what strategy you're doing, but in general 24-27 villagers from dark to feudal, and 26-29 villagers to castle (assuming you are trying to get to the castle age quickly). Obviously it can vary greatly from feudal to castle depending on the situation. :)

Why did you make Hand Cannonneers instead of Jannissaries? Aren't Janissaries better in every shape and form?

@ArcticaJSM You are absolutely correct, however it's a tad difficult to get the janissaries out early on because the fast imperial is really hurting on your economy. If you weren't going to try and get to imperial age quickly janissaries are obviously the preferred unit, it's just that most people generally don't get the chance to mine a lot of stone before they hit imperial. Hand cannoneers might be weaker, but they are easier to create if you try to fast imperial. :)

@Ilumiknight Good point, I'll keep that in mind next time I try to Turk rush. I seem to rush too slowly when I'm using Turks, maybe it's because I go for Janissaries instead of their cheaper counterparts. Thanks for the tip.

Do you have any good build orders? I normally play as the Goths, and my play style is usually quick raids. But I have trouble getting a good economy while maintaining a sizable army.

@LitttleD94 I find using the H Hotkey to jump back to my town centers helps me maintain a good economy while attacking. It's a good idea to try to make sure your town center is always working until you have a really stable economy. :D

@Quickfireflame 18 minutes to start researching or finish researching it? If you're in the castle age by 18 minutes then that's very good. And yes to shave off some extra time I sell stone to get the gold to advance and sometimes buy food if I have to. :)

@heasboythree Oh well actually that was a little outdated. I only play on Gameranger for other games and even that is very uncommon. So I almost exclusively play on Voobly now. :) And yes I'd love to play a game with you sometimes. My Voobly name is the same as my name on youtube.

@Mist677 Oh yes Voobly is great. I personally prefer it to game ranger and I believe it does have the most players. I'm not sure how many Game Ranger has daily but Voobly easily has more than a thousand players online and playing. If you do decide to join, say I referred you. :)

@thucka06 Woah 1900+ that's quite the accomplishment. In the video description I have linked a video that should answer all your questions. But for a quick answer, Voobly has the most Age of Empires 2 Players, 1000+ all throughout the day if not more than that. It's the successor to Zone, and used to be known as IGZ. It still has the same ratings as Zone. There are easily a couple thousand Aoe 2 players online daily. :)

In i play age of kings, i always have 15 villangers on wood, 10 on gold 5 on stone and 15 on food before i start aging up, works for me and you have a strong econemy even when some1 is attacking u, this method works for me!!!

@150booyadragon I'm well aware of that haha, it was mostly a joke. It's not like they benefit from upgrades like siege engineering though, but they do benefit from the stable upgrades, so in essence they are cavalry with one hell of a building crushing punch.

tip for persians. leave elephants alone till imperial. get a good sized army first. then stable upgrades have to be upgraded. then fully upgrade the elephants. (also the monastary ones) then make elephants. wait till you have at least 15-20 before you start relying on them for soldiers.

(not sucking up, its true) what you said about skirmishers (around 8:20) they are the bomb if you dotn have 2 many, if you have 10 archers, 4 should be skirmishers. cuz if ur smart and ground the archers on one target, they can be devistating. so the skirmishers take them out, and when the archers are gone, retreat them so you dont waste them

@150booyadragon Thanks I really appreciate it. Although skirmishers can be extremely useful, they aren't at all an effective counter to a turk rush. For throwing them in an army, it's always nice, but you gotta make sure your counters are sort of covered. In the elephant and skirmisher unit mix, you don't really cover anything the elephants aren't covering already. I love skirmishers, but they have their time and place :)

@Ilumiknight actually, if your smart with them, they are. hand canoneers (sp) dont have that much hp, a skirmishers have at least a 2hp attack bonus against them. if you HAVE skirmishers, then have 10 to 20. and controlt hem completly, dont scramble them, pile them up and pile one guy at at a time. they will own some, but not all (depens on the group of canoneers) and if you have like two knights on standby, then once the hussar comes in, you send the knights in to take care of the hussar

@happysleepymrchoi Hard counter against Persians? If they're played right, it's nearly impossible. HOWEVER that doesn't mean Persians are unbeatable. Easily the best method is having 4-5 monks in your troop mix. When some idiot charges you with elephants, each monk can easily convert 1 elephant before they reach you. Even if you don't generally use monks I highly recommend using them against persians. Getting good with monks and camels make persians best units (elephants and paladins) way weaker

@happysleepymrchoi They do not have trample damage as far as I know, that's why halbs are a good counter. So are camels but they're quite expensive in the long run and only really effective against cavalry. Massed scorpions in general are good against any type of cavalry, but they need to be MASSED otherwise they'll just get chopped up in no time.

Hey Ilumiknight, you know you got my respect, but I must admit i'm one of the skirmisher fanboys and I agree they need a lot of upgrades before doing big damage, but they're in my opinion the "safest" way to deal with gunpowder units and protect yourself from a turkrush. Also the thing about Elephants vs. halbs is that the Ele's got ground attack (can only attack one at the time), while the halbs got bonus and can attack a lot at the time on one Ele, maybe you should've mentioned that :) GG!

@MrDanish177 Using skirmishers against a turk rush is generally a sign of weakness and shows how ill-prepared you are for the attack. Skirmishers are really not an effective turk rush unit. While they can prove useful with max upgrades and in mass, they won't do anything to solve the bombard cannon problem and they will get picked off very quickly. Turk players tend to involve hussars at some point, so skirmishers are not at all helpful. You gotta be cool with getting your hands dirty haha. :)

@germanboy686 Really the best bet against elephants is to prevent your enemy from using them haha. Elephants require insanely costly upgrades and a lot of farms to maintain. Sending hussars to raid his farms will stop his elephants. If it comes down to it, try using Halberdiers (get those attack upgrades though), Camels, Onagers and massed scorpions. Teutonic Knights and Mamelukes also do a number on them. Massed range can even hurt em. The best advantage is that the elephants cost a ton. :)
