I like your video and been a fan long time. Toyota Prius more EV conversion selling here in the 48 states. PHEV conversion kits are spendy though ranging from $3500 to $10000. The battery technology on Lifep04 and Nimhd are used too.
And Gav, working on another EV project already? I am curious. I've enjoyed the way you took us through all the stages of the conversion. You made me an EV enthusiast, maybe I get the nerve to convert my Porsche 964 into an electric car. (Did I just say that?) Wow,....hope to see more of your work soon, keep us all posted.
Time for a FUCKING revolution in these times....put these monney bastards to rest in a coffin 20 ffet down! With a one dollar bill, and a gallon of gasoline!
I love the lst comment! "THANK YOU BP COULDNT DO IT WITHOUT YOU!" Besides his car didnt have THAT many rust stains! Besides he didnt even show the errors in the car! Thank u BP told me alot since their filthy oilspill in gulf of mexico, and by the way, another fucking rig sank there yesterday and wills surely have another dissaster! And they where broke? buying a new car and go to another country? BP SHIT HEADS MAKING!
i think as soon as the car manufacturers realize that these DIY EV`s make more and more people to convert they, becouse of theyre companions the oil industry, will forbid to convert any models of the cars, what they can legaly do.
where did i get this from ? watcht "Who killed the electrical car". It`s quite eyeopening to see how everything works.
but enivey i`m thinking to make one my own but i don`t want to end up on the street becouse of the EV. am not sure how much it`s gonna cost me :)
Here I was thinking after the loss of 'ev1' the videos from you would die, glad to see that wasn't the case. Enjoyed the video, and was inspired to see those other EV creations too.
Taranaki adventure tours hey? *keeps in mind for his next visit to cousin in New Plymouth*
Gav; Quick message from New York, U.S.A: "KillaCycle" coming to NZ this winter (i.e. your summer?) See "The New York Times", Sunday, Oct. 25, '09, "Automobiles" section, page 4. "E" drag bike, 500 HP, last month did a quarter-mile run in 7.864 secs. @ 169 MPH. Lots of source info, immediately thought of you when I read the article 5 mins. ago. Regards! Showpro1
Just a suggestion, if you are going to all the effort to plug in the remote starter why not use an engine block heater and an electric interor heater. This would cut out the ineffichent cold running period, save petrol, and remnove the fumes from around your house in the morning.
Lol! You Rick-Rolled the video! Glad you are still around, but sad that you now have to spend gas money on a clunker! Hopefully, you will make it EV friendly!
I can't drive yet, nor do I have the skill or patience to do a full car conversion. But, I am considering converting a jet ski to full electric, it seems to be a bit more viable option for someone my age! And the skills I learn will come in handy for future conversions.
Glad you are back. Keep making them. Everybody that hasn't built an EV should start today. It is still better than buying GAS. Get that tour business going and build another one!!!!
Brilliant! Gav, I think this is the funniest one yet. You're inspirational.....now I just need to save some money to get enough LiFePO4 cells to power a car! Cheers, Nigel
Glad to see you put that gas money to good use... instead of shelling it all out for something you're literally going to burn, like I'm stuck doing :/
Gav, I'm glad to see you're still kickin' haha. I'd imagine your book will sell well. Anyone who has watched your videos knows that you have the best DIY EV videos out there. (wish I could do as well) It's been such a long time since we've talked, we have to catch up.
your videos are just as inspiring Kyle, I mean to say that you are both inspiring people. I hope that you are able to fix your speed controller soon, I find it hard to believe that it is an expensive part that is broken. Have you considered to bring it to an electronics geek? I did build a 75 amp dc PWM (speedcontroller) for a different goal and those things have relative cheap components if you know a bit about electronics. Search for the components at mouser
