I KNOW the Song "CASEY JONES" IS based on a true story; a 25 year old Engineer , wrecked in 1906 when he was running 80-90 MPH & came around a bend & the passenger train that was supposed to have gone thru beforeJones, was dead on the rails ahead,

Like the OLd 97 ,TONS of steel going 90 MPH absolutely destroyed both trains & it was heard many miles away.
