  • GTFO bugatti

  • train 1 ..people falling on tracks 0 ..watch out the train is.....nevermind

  • wtf

  • An absolutely amazing speed record!

  • At the biggining the muppet said - the atmosphere here is electric (not deisel then)

  • Could have borred the channel tunnel in one hit

  • u crazy mexicans

  • You know a train is fast when it sounds like a jet!

  • @laurenfan4 It's just rarely the case that engineers are also notaries, therefore.

  • Faster than a Bugatti :O

  • @ThePPPTrainAndCarFan why does that suprise u? bugatti`s are shit

  • The British half of my family are so anti-French that they refuse to believe the TGV is faster than a Japanese bullet train. Irritates the hell out of me.

  • What happens if a cow or deer wonders onto the track?

  • @2958456739 firstly, there are multiple measures to prevent ANYTHING from going on the track and if it did it would probably explode in guts and blood and cause some damage.

  • @2958456739 thats called filet "entrecôte"

  • This brings new meaning to the phrase "haul ass"

  • imagine being run over by that...

    damn ._.

  • 3:48 WOW

  • My guess is you can't open a window and stick your head out... haha.

On a 2nd note, ythey probably had to use a jet just to do the aerial footage. Helicopter would be too slow.

  • We are to stupid when something comes this good. We pour our money into amtrek

which will never compare to this. This would create jobs building and maintaining

the special tracks needed for this. Wake up Congress. We need to progress, and

get people working again. Stop thinking about your perks, retirement, and yourself.

You sure don't listen to people. Maybe they will now?

  • Phillip, are you with us Phillip!!!!! (4.35) You aren't slowing down!!!!, Oh my god!!!!. Watched too many disaster movies sorry.

  • Sure does beat any train in the UK hands down. We have the proud record of the fastest conversion of delay turn cancellation in the whole of Europe!

  • OMG at 3:38 it sounds like a fighter jet!

  • id like to see a mexican try and get a ride on that thing while its still going

  • what we need in america we are way behind the french train amtrak is too slow

  • Dead train!!!

  • Si ils mettaient 2 locomotives sur un train complet est-ce qu'ils arriveraient a rouler genre a 500km/h?

  • at 3:48 i shit my pants

  • simplement incroyable!

  • is this in mph?

  • FUcking California why can't we get our shit together. I am so frustrated by our public trans.

  • @jimfont86 Get a job, get a car.

  • cool!

  • Hi to everybody... please, could you tell me which company manufactured the train, and Where is the company headquarters located ??

    Please, i´ll thank you a lot... !!

  • Alstom in La Rochelle

  • yeah lets see some crazy basterd get infront of that.

  • wow, what happened to the track in 1990?

  • What a stunning machine, why are the french so good at trains?

  • @Dopplershift

Decades ago, France was smart enough to invest millions and millions in a state of the art railway network, which means that today they have high speed rail on all major intercity lines. For example, the Paris - Lyons connection is so fast that people actually prefer the train over the aeroplane.

  • also @Dopplershift:

They have a pretty low pop. density (~250/sq mile) and have a few large cities with little in between, therefore they can build long straight lines with no need to stop. If you compare that to somewhere like England or the Netherlands you have high pop density and towns everywhere which means that when you try to build long straight lines you end up having to build through someone's house. It's a wonderful achievement!

  • any chance to get these on the chingford liverpool street line?

  • galaxy express 999 goes faster.

  • HOLY SHIT!!! Jeez and i thought the one i went on in Beijing was fast. This son of a gun wow.... 1,000,000,000/5 stars... 357m.p.h.?!?!?!?!?!?! Thats crazy... I'd be so scared being on th eground like those people watching it go by... My pants would have been drenched... =D

Well great video btw..Hey post up one on the train in Beijing.. The one I was on... On average it's the fastest in the world. Not top speed but just normal speed.. wow it glides like water on glass. lol great vid!

  • Imagine waiting for that at a crossing.

  • The maglev goes 30 mph faster than this or something right? Thats kind of embarrasing considerding its a flying train and it goes hardly any faster than a regular train.

  • The maglev record is only 4 mph faster, actually... Stick to wheels? ; )

  • Yeah. I'm not a big fan of maglevs anyway. When I think of a train I think of flanged wheels on steel rails. Maglevs have the potential to go much faster but they haven't had as long to develop.

  • @tgv150 Yes especially since maglev "tracks" cost many times more to install.

  • @TheGordonizer yeah its twice as much. japan were planning to convert one of their lines to maglev, but it would cost £25bn

  • tgv duplex maan cant beat it

  • I saw a video on here of that same event where you can see how this train speeds next to a small jet aircraft from where some extra scenes from the air were shot.

Amazing thought! - The fact that you need a JET aircraft to cope with that train ^^

Guess a usual plane couldnt even reach half of that speed! haha

  • 3:50 the best bit

  • to people who wonder why it sounds like a plane :

it's an electric train, it's almost completely silent, so you just hear the sound of wind, and the sound of iron wheels on the rails

  • awesom

  • Hey thanxs for posting this one...Ive seen the other version and was always wondering what they where saying....and anyone else think the girl at the end looks like Tina Fay?

  • frogs legs

  • Frog's wheels :)

  • Simply great.

  • damn

  • Maglev is dead. I recently took the image down the wall in your department. I work in superconductors physics.

  • 3:50 Holly crap, it sounded just as a fighter! =P

  • it's normal : it's the sound of the airplane who filming the TGV

  • what if they hit a deer?

  • they would pull over, check the dent in the front bumper, swear loudly and then drive off without removing the deer from the tracks

  • I remember Hong Kong newreporter report that the power of TGV engine is 50000 horsepower. F1 is 2500 HS . Alexander Dennis Bus is 340 HS ..

  • The banking transition at 2:06 was a way faster and the drivers actually slowed down the train to 538s from 539s.

  • What's funny is that it takes a relatively quick plane to keep up with this; the fastest helicopters only barely reach 200mph.

  • The interesting thing about this train of course is that it can change to different tracks - lets see a maglev 'train' go across some points - maglevs are good for fast airport shuttles and thats about it at the moment - this piece of track is the new one down to marseille - no?

  • No, it's the newer one over to Alsace-Lorraine but it won't go all the way to Strousberg until something like 2014.

  • Yeah. Future on a existing and proven technology.

  • "Strasbourg" :)

  • how much is this in km/h?

  • the tgv uses electricity never gas

  • nuclear electricity no less!

  • YAY!!! I'm so proud to be french right now :)

I ride those TGVs twice a month to visit my father and it's awesome!

  • very nice the speed of the train thanks this test all the engineers and other team workers

  • Crikey! What scares me is the possibilty of stuff on the track. Animals, logs thrown by nice little 9-year old boys, suicides. I assume there are no "level crossings" on these tracks. If they had these in the USA, there would be someone stalling a school bus on the line weekly.

  • yay, california is getting one!

  • yay! California are always on the forefront to get new technology! How come?

  • what kind of wheels are on that train to withstand such rotating forces?

  • the same than on other tgv(made in france) just bigger size to limit the rotation of the engine..

  • what type of alloy?

  • (reply to choidj)

Eh, something compared to airplanes which need lots of gas, and costly

  • this train ould do 600kmph with a new system of electricity catchment

  • so fast!! but i also love the n700 series of the japanese.

  • SNCF and ALSTOM are Grand Masters of high-speed rail

  • very cool

    airplanes are still better

    but still cool

  • Actually, trains are faster in shorter distances, say below 500km.

  • well yeah because you don't have to take off and all, but cross country flights airplanes are probably the way to go

  • Probably so, but there is one crazy idea to put train into a vacuum tube under the surface of the ocean, train could reach over 800km/h, so who knows what we have in the future... =D

  • maybe

  • insidz flights are so pointless in france though.

  • In speed maybe (and yet only slightly) but this is powered by electricity... Get my point?! ;-)

  • We Americans could take some lessons from the French and Europeans when it comes to transportation.

  • @BoomerNavy70 Not really. Your focus is private transportation. Some of Europe focuses on public transportation. Some of it focuses on private transportation. In Slavic Europe, there's no transportation at all!

  • COOL

  • the company alstom makes amtrak acelas

  • I was on board when they did it... it was AMAIZIN'!!! I love speed! An' nothin' could have crossed the thracks... it's heavily fenced an' all. An' nothin' can stop a train at this kind o' speed! :)

  • what if someone would have crossed the traks ? how could have they stoped the train then?

  • It would be the best crash cought on camera in the history of mankind.

  • Why would they bother stopping it? :P

  • amtrak sucks!!

  • WOW! I would LOVE to get one in HO Scale! ^__^

  • The amazing thing is that this is on an everyday railway !

  • 150 meters per second. That's over 450 ft, much longer than an American football field. Incredible!

  • at 574.8kmph it is in reality 160 meters per seconds..

  • wow

  • is that how fast they always travel? cus i ride in that bitch all the time it only feels like about 120-140mph but 300plus no way, i think just did this to break a record i dont think go this fast everytime, or do they?

  • No, they run up to 320 normally, depending on the track.

  • please just keep your stupid sentences for u!

when an english man say something bad about French hight speed train it make me smile..just look at your poor train!!

  • its' because the difference between the speed of the train and the speed of the plane is low.

If it passes near you, you'll see the speed.

  • because the "difference between the speed of the train and the speed of the plane is low" ?????

NO, IT IS NOT. This is the top speed record of the train, 357mph, the average cruising speed of modern airliners ~0.75-0.85 mach. more than 500mph. The world air speed record stands at more than mach 10 by the Nasa scramjet.

Please look something up before leaving a retarded comment.

  • Did I talk about plane speed records?

    No.

I think you have misunderstood my statement.

I was talking about the DIFFERENCE between the TGV's speed and the filming plane's speed.

The lower the difference the lees you can see how fast the train goes.

I don't see how a Mach 10 UAV will help us in the near future. :)

  • maglev is not a train but sustentation magnetic engine.....

  • brillant video, vive le france tres magnifiqou, and how can the japanese be faster if this is the worlds speed record for rail, unsure of maglev

  • Edit: and this requires a very good line, it's almost certain that the train can be run at this kind of speed (350+ km/h) only on a few stretches of railroad.

  • Most of french highspeed-tracks are able to be taken with this speed.

  • Guy, speak of things you know, french built specials lines for this train, thousands of KM.

  • japneses can do any thing its a prove

  • You can actually hear it tearing through the air at 3:51!!!

  • WOW! Having heard the English Version...I'm still impressed - and now speechless! A Truly Spectacular Train Ride! WOW! O__O

  • The maglev is not a train by definition.

  • yes but the tgv is in operation everyday since 27 years not like the maglev who is just a "test" at this time...

  • actually the maglev is pretty widely used in the far east...

  • work on your train english guy you have to!

  • the maglev is not conventionnel train but train by magnetic sustentation

    tgv is réally train

  • do a flip!

  • how does the chopper keep up

  • It's a jet plane, that's how! :) :)

  • lol

  • i would not want to be playing on those tracks!

    lol

    that is fast

    respect to the french!

  • For this kind of Highspeed train to exist here in the states, the rails have to be changed and the crossings would have to be eliminated. We have a bad habit of going around crossings when the gates come down.Anyone who lives here can testify to this.

  • I agree we all think the train is moving slow when its not its going at 70 mph STOP LOOK AND LISTEN!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The TGV only runs at full speed (300km/h (200m/h) on new high speed specification lines with no crossings and only very gentle curves. This is the main cost of the system. Public infrastructure is an investment that pays you back when well conceived.

  • FUCK YEAH

  • I suspect that could be the case among Japanese. What do you think innpressTV?

  • There are not enough straightaways and too many crossings to pull that off here in the states.Would be an insurance nightmare.

  • Just like France, Germany and Japan, you have to make the investment in public infrastructure to make this happen: new lines without crossings or tight bends...

  • That's interesting, perhaps. Please tell us why Japanese people don't like Obama. And what is your own opinion (of the Japanese view and Obama himself). Thank you.

  • Japanese love Obama. I live in Japan and everywhere is Obama mania.

  • The World Record is Japanese Train

    581km/h

  • japanese or german maglev are not conventional trains. So TGV is the fastest train on conventional rail. Maglev is a new techology more expensive and wich have to prove the safety. TGV runs since 1981 without any accidents on high speed lines!TGV is safe and fast!

  • the highest speed reading i saw was 574.7 kilometres per hour.....

  • only flashed it twice

  • France championne du monde

    France world champion

  • loooooooooooooooooool

    pour une fois...

  • Holy God!! THAT'S FAST!!!

That thing was travelling at about the same speed as a BOAC Bristol Britannia transatlantic airliner of the 1950's - and would probably have outrun the earliest versions of the Spitfire . . .

  • they took away Concorde and all the french have left to play with is their trains. see what happens?

  • TGVs are sold in many countries and YOUR country, USA want to buy some(California). HAHA

  • I am a great admirer of sophisticated high speed rail transport, particularly Spain's AVE Alta Velocidad Española, the Shinkansen of Japan, and of course the TGV. Many enlightened people in CA have long desired such a system be put in place. Our vertically oriented state with population centers at both ends is ideally suited to it. Politically, however, moving us away from the automobile is challenging. Wish us luck. Maybe Obama can help.

  • The entire world wish you luck, and wish Obama WILL help.

  • How do the French like Obama?

  • He isnt republican and he is the opposite of Bush. So... we are all sick and ttired of seeing bullies ruling the world's only super power, moreover it is a good thing that minorities are represented now.

  • After 9-11, we had all the world's support, then lost it entirely with Bush and Iraq. The office of US President impacts every nation. A new leader, Obama, in a sense, could belong to all of us around the world. This is a man with a profound respect for the world outside our borders. The support of all internationals matter to us.

  • Spainish high speed train are "specials". AVE is a TGV technology, Velaro is german technology (ICE) and the spanish compagni Talgo build high speed trains too.

  • i like.

  • l'europa è l'unica che sta veramente facendo progressi.

  • The TGV has been modified to go that fast. They use bigger wheels, different gearing, shorter trains, line voltage increased to 33,000 volts instead of 25,000 volts, etc to acheive that speed.

  • Yes but here that s not a TGV but an AGV, so they use the futur AGV tech who will run at 360KM/h in 2009 to to this test.

  • this is tunning mate. lol...

  • You mean it's fake ? Sure, everything was organised for a record attempt and commercial speed is lower : not more than 215 mph. But they don't have to change the wheels after every trip, as said by someone who liked to joke :-DDD

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What sort of plane have they got to follow this train???

  • Definitely a jet plane: not sure what make, though! ;) Can see it briefly in a few frames on some of the other clips. ^^

  • ahh well im happy with my 'rajdhani' and 'shatabdi' express trains in India(jus type on u-tube) tht do 110-120 mph(180kmph)...i mean they are 10-15 times longer with full load so tht aint bad at all n its India!! but kudos to d French, magnifique!
