M21 my arse...I have one, I should know, look on the left hand crankcase just below the cylinder flange and it should have the engine model number stamed on it. M33 or miss-match of parts, looks cool all the same.
My M21 (which had been chopped!!!) cost £6 in 1973-I was given plenty of spares too! The tank was from a mark one BSA Bantam and is still in the shed- as are the two moped headlamps it had!Paul I believe you have swiped my photo of it with Francis and the twins on it- is that correct?
Paul- that's not an M21! It's OHV not side valve, so it's probably an M33 which is the 500cc OHV engine from a B33 but in the heavy duty M21 frame. I do not believe the B33 ever had girder forks- the M33 did for a while- I can only remember seeing them with teles but they were made first with girders. The gearbox appears to be newer than the rest of the bike- could be a later replacement. It's called keeping old ironmongery on the road!I Hope the roads are smooth!
