  • Using your instructions, we have been able to hook up an external monitor to our MSI Wind. THank you. When we unplug the monitor, to use the MSI in another locations, we have to go through all the steps again to hook up the monitor. Is there any way it can remember to use the external monitor automatically when it is plugged in? Thanks for your help.

  • hello if u can help me out i can finally use my compy lol its been alone for a year i need to blindly do it since my compy screen is broken i know my compy is xp and i know ive used it before but i need to know in the (tab) version since ive don't it before like i know right click and move the right arrow once but idk what else let me know ^^ every step ^^

  • I JUST PAID 100 POUND FOR I OF THESE 2ND HAND HAVE I GOT A GOOD DEAL OR HAVE I BEEN RIPPED OFF ANY ONE KNOW HOW I CHANGE THE KEYBOARD TO ENGLISH TO GET @ IS 2 INSTEAD OF THE KEY IT SHOULD BE I STRUGGLE WITH ANYTHING TO DO WITH COMPUTERS IN FACT WHAT I KNOW WOULD FIT ON THE BACK OF A STAMP

  • @trc0223 MINE DID IT WITH FN AND F2 NOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT MODEL WIND I HAVE COS IT'S WHITE AND JUST ABOVE THE KEYBOARD IT SAYS MSI WIND NETBOOK

  • I DID NONE OF THIS SHIT I JUST PLUGGED THE MONITOR INTO MY MSI WIND WIND PRESSED FN AND F2 AND IT WORKED SO NO NEED TO DO ALL THIS SHIT

  • how do you get the volume on to the monitor

  • @spartan4169 Depends if your monitor has an input volume jack. I would use the headset output from the netbook, and plug it into the monitor if supported. Kinda like if you were to plug an Mp3 player/ Ipod into output speakers.

  • @trc0223 Hmmm... is it using windows 7? I would start by using your Function keys. Fn + F2 or F3 Think that will bring up your external display on your external monitor. At that point if possible, try to tweek your resolution on your Wind.

  • Thanks very much. I'm now using my Wind as a media centre for all my ripped films and have to say it's doing a great job of it.

  • AWESOME!!!!! Thanks very much

  • thanks very much! this was very helpful. cheers.

  • Thanks for the video. Very helpful! Also, you do not need to get out of all those windows to change it to a higher resolution. . @ 2:55 click display settings on the left and change the screen resolution to your preference! Thanks again!

  • Thanks for the info. I couldn't get past the low resolution but your video solved that.

  • Wasn't easier to press Fn and F2? Maybe I'm mistaking, because i don't have it...

  • Only if this mouse works using Bluetooth, but it doesn't, it uses Wi-Fi technology and it works on 27MHz....His name is Logitech Cordless Mini Mouse

  • Gave it a try and it works! Definably easier but still a helpful video to see how it actually works

  • since the computer has bluetooth you should be able to use the wireless mouse without having to plug anything into the usb drive.

  • thank you so much, it really help...

  • Well I tried to use my wind with a sony 1080I LCD tv. I get to multiple display and can select monitor, and apply, but after about 10 seconds, it reverts back to notebook. I want to use my wind to play hulu to the TV.. can I do this? How do i handle the sound? Thanks

  • Thank you so much! This video was really helpful!

  • hey try ...

some games using on that external monitor ...

    XD..

    would nice vid ...i think

  • nice vid man ....

some people would like to this ...

    XD

  • the title of this video is misleading. "using msi wind as external monitor" makes me think i can output from my home pc to the msi wind's screen.

  • The same think was been in my head ;? sorry for my eng.

  • btw, advent 4211 is exact same as msi wind, pcworld bought the rights to market it in UK, also having issues getting it to go larger than 800*600 on external screen

  • Hey man, can I do this with a normal TV monitor:: Please answer that.

  • Yes of course! The wind uses the analog output format.

  • @throughmyeyesonly actually I have tried this and it will not do it. Any advice.

  • This video would have been much more useful if you had included how to use a stand-alone external drive, installing software on the MSIwind or to show how to install software on it using the drive of another computer as an external one.

(Not sure whether this is possible)

  • Agree! i really need a BT keyboard & a BT mouse.

  • hi there...great vids...i watched them all on the msi wind...from your experience, would you say the wind does a good job as a destop pc in terms of performance and speed(relevant to browsing the internet and downloading files).im using xp at the moment with 2gb ram and think 1gb of ram will be sufficient.also could you tell me if the advent 4211 (basically the msi wind with less shiny surfaces)has the built in bluetooth like the wind and if typing is at least comfortable on the wind???thanks.

  • Yeah that was pretty boring, but if someone doesn't know how to do this stuff, I suppose it's a really good video. 5 stars from me.

  • Hi, Yes the Bluetooth is one of the best features for the Wind. Unfortunately, I do not have a bluetooth mouse or keyboard. I am planning on buying bluetooth hardware in the future; also the printer as well.

  • Doesn't your MSI Wind have built in bluetooth? possibly using a bluetooth mouse instead? or is that only on the native XP version?
