I will say it again,she chose to stay home to be with the girls more while she works on her record. even though they were out together a lot with the girls,she chose not to do any promoting because it took her time to make this last record. girls need a Mom with them,that is how it works with Mcgraw

Virtually NOBODY has heard of her here or in Europe - or rest of world (although of course that doesn't exist for the States). And Japan is irrelevant for reasons I've given. She KNOWS she hasnt made it world wide too And its too late now. And you've told us why.
Tim has been to Australia,,and places I cannot remember,but she has chosen to do what she does,she runs things in their home and when she wants to go out and promote her record she will. her new album will be out very soon.she has been working on it for 6 years while she did other things besides being a great wife and Mother.

These days its an equal partnership and you BOTH run the home. Don't know about States - but over here songs don't get 'liked' for their quality but by how popular or fashionable the singer is - and how much air play/television they get. Once you get to a certain age you're deemed 'past it' and 'not cool' - especially when you dropped out of the limnelight for a few years like Faith did, even though none of that should count. The ratio here 1550 to 55 suggests a big majority lOVE it. Any more ideas?
What a beautiful voice, She made this song come alive. If OneRepublic and her did this song together, it would be beyond excellent.. Still, love this song, and feel its the most appropriate song for those with families in the military..

This version will make it far better known. It already is. If somebody writes her an original song of this quality (or better) - she would be over the moon and sing that. @Closminding I wasn't insulting those serving in the military and their families. I was giving my thoughts towards the song, and I think it's a terrible rendition. The fact that there's no credit given to OneRepublic is my beef with it as well.

my boyfriend, Gunnar, just left for Marine basic training...its almost a week he's been gone and like..it hurts.. like hell. we got through 2 weeks of no communication when he was in Germany with his family, but it wasn't like this...I need encouragement because lastnight a friend said to me "hes at bootcamp..hes not going to war..well not anyway"

But when he gets leave and you see him, oh girl, you'll never know how much you love someone till then. It gets easier I promise! Mine deploys in April and I more scared then anything, and its okay to cry and to tell people. Read "Married to the Military" By Meredith Leyva it helped me alot!

Just listened to the original today for the first time, and now listening to this. She did a good job covering the song but the original version brings out a lot more emotions than this one. This one sounds just like what it is, a cover.

I also prefer OR's original version. It always sounded so powerful to me and I loved it. I think Faith's is good, too, but it doesn't give me the same feeling.

Obviously I don't have a problem with people covering other artists' work, but I do despise the fact that most things I see talking about this song make it sound like it's her own original work. All I see is that it's "her new lead single off her upcoming album" with absolutely nothing saying it's also a cover or that One Republic.
I realize Ryan's written/co-written a bunch of other popular songs for other artists, but this was all OR's song and it's not even mentioned on most sites.

Infact each person who announces it seems to think its their own amazing discovery. Not one person I can see makes it sound as if it's an original song. I really like Faith, she's the only "country" type singer I like. She has a gorgeous voice but I'm not sure if this song suits her voice, but I'll probably listen to this a few more times and change my mind. Not hating at all. Just an opinion. I haven't even heard OneRepublic's version so I can't compare the two together.
It makes me laugh how people think they're rude by saying things like "This is a shit" or "this sucks" at something they dislike. For something there's the thumb down people!

Sorry Faith, your version of the song "Come Home" by One Republic is not very good. Rather here it slow and simple not rushed and overpowered by musicians. Your voice is soulful enough without all that glitz. Still a FAN!

It's ridiculous to say she stole the song (she had to ask them for permission). She paid a great tribute to the song and the writer earns loads from that. In that sense - every song not written by the artist (which is most) is a 'cover' because they're performing something written by someone else. As it happens I think the writer IS as important (sometimes more so) than the artist and should be mentioned. But the music business sidelines them

I really prefer the stripped down piano version OneRepublic did. There's much more emotion than in this version. Faith is a great talent, but this song doesn't fit her.
I love Faith's voice ~ this pop cover is interesting ~ I hope there are some original songs on the CD that match some of the others I love like "When the Lights Go Down" and "Cry".
Faith is so awesome along with her husband, Tim. They are the perfect couple together and great example of what a marriage and life should be! I love you two, a perfect example!

Just look at the YouTube demographic maps (the shades of green) and that's OBVIOUS - and the YouTube viewing figures - also where her records have sold. Virtually NOBODY has heard of her here or in Europe - or rest of world (although of course that doesn't exist for the States). And Japan is irrelevant for reasons I've given. She KNOWS she hasnt made it world wide too And its too late now. And you've told us why.

He would sacrifice himself for her any day. he has to keep recording and promoting his records because that is what he does to. she runs the home,he does not. it was her choice,

These days its an equal partnership and you BOTH run the home. So if she scarificed 6 years for his carreer and he allowed it - it was a wrong call - and he should have stopped her (and run the home instead!). I suspect theres something else going on here we dont know about..

Don't know about States - but over here songs don't get 'liked' for their quality but by how popular or fashionable the singer is - and how much air play/television they get. Once you get to a certain age you're deemed 'past it' and 'not cool' - especially when you dropped out of the limnelight for a few years like Faith did, even though none of that should count. The ratio here 1550 to 55 suggests a big majority lOVE it. Any more ideas?

@infernokid1990 She didn't select this song because it was One Republic or foir O.R. fans or because it was well know (she knew it wasn't). - she chose it because it perfectly suited her voice and this arrangement. This version will make it far better known. It already is. If somebody writes her an original song of this quality (or better) - she would be over the moon and sing that. So far, unfortunately they haven't. There's still time - (maybe - but it's fast running out).

@Closminding I wasn't insulting those serving in the military and their families. I was giving my thoughts towards the song, and I think it's a terrible rendition. The fact that there's no credit given to OneRepublic is my beef with it as well.

my boyfriend, Gunnar, just left for Marine basic training...its almost a week he's been gone and like..it hurts.. like hell. we got through 2 weeks of no communication when he was in Germany with his family, but it wasn't like this...I need encouragement because lastnight a friend said to me "hes at bootcamp..hes not going to war..well not anyway"

Being a girlfriend, FIance, or wife or the hardest jobs of anyone in my opinion. My fiance is in the Army and has only been in for a year but everyday it feels like its never going to end. But when he gets leave and you see him, oh girl, you'll never know how much you love someone till then. It gets easier I promise! Mine deploys in April and I more scared then anything, and its okay to cry and to tell people. Read "Married to the Military" By Meredith Leyva it helped me alot!

And for the record, it's funny how many pathetic blind worshipers there are on here who mark spam/vote down ANYTHING that is either against Faith or shows some preference to OR's version, even when they aren't insulting her/her version. Grow up, failures. Not everyone is gonna be down on their knees for her.
I also prefer OR's original version. It always sounded so powerful to me and I loved it. I think Faith's is good, too, but it doesn't give me the same feeling.

@jezkn ...What I ACTUALLY said I had a problem with was the people who aimed to hide comments STRICTLY because they said they like the original better. Yes, some comments were harsh towards Faith, but others weren't at all and STILL got downvoted to the point of being hidden. THAT is the kind of blind worship I'm talking about and criticizing. Next time, try reading before you try to bash me for things I didn't even say.

@familyguyxyz What I meant by the comment about people talking about the song is on OTHER sites, not this page. When I googled it, most of the pages that first appeared did just what I described.I actually had to TRY to find sites that stated it wasn't Faith's own original song.
Quite frankly, I don't really care whether or not it bothers OR. I don't agree with ANYONE passing someone else's work of as another person's, which is what some sites are doing, maybe out of ignorance.

Obviously I don't have a problem with people covering other artists' work, but I do despise the fact that most things I see talking about this song make it sound like it's her own original work. All I see is that it's "her new lead single off her upcoming album" with absolutely nothing saying it's also a cover or that One Republic.
I realize Ryan's written/co-written a bunch of other popular songs for other artists, but this was all OR's song and it's not even mentioned on most sites.

@familyguyxyz Well you must have selectivre eye sight then. If you read back many pages (and most dont) you'll see its continually mentioned as being a cover. Infact each person who announces it seems to think its their own amazing discovery. Not one person I can see makes it sound as if it's an original song. They aint got a problem with it being a cover -they just love it that's all. Whereas it's clear from your 'despising' (hating) you got a REAL problem with it being a cover!

I really like Faith, she's the only "country" type singer I like. She has a gorgeous voice but I'm not sure if this song suits her voice, but I'll probably listen to this a few more times and change my mind. Not hating at all. Just an opinion. I haven't even heard OneRepublic's version so I can't compare the two together.

@LuciThePicChic Professional bands and artists do covers all the time - but they don't put it in the title. Only acapella YouTubers do that. It's ridiculous to say she stole the song (she had to ask them for permission). She paid a great tribute to the song and the writer earns loads from that. Anyway 'swinglifeaway' - isnt talking about that. She just says which version is better is a matter of opinion. Common Sense isn't it? Did you misread it?

@LuciThePicChic O.R. didn't write the song. Ryan Tedder did (one member of it - he earns the royaties not them). Also a title - hardly ever. mentions the name of the writer. In that sense - every song not written by the artist (which is most) is a 'cover' because they're performing something written by someone else. As it happens I think the writer IS as important (sometimes more so) than the artist and should be mentioned. But the music business sidelines them

I really prefer the stripped down piano version OneRepublic did. There's much more emotion than in this version. Faith is a great talent, but this song doesn't fit her.
