  • Thanks it helped but took me longer than it did you, I worked out side and lost daylight, but it worked fine, just dont like that whole contraption with the head light, thanks for the video : )

  • Thank you. I just ordered my headlights last night. I needed this.

  • thank you so much

  • you edited the part at 2:28 where you curse and throw your pliers cause the headlight didn't pop right out. LOL. Seriously thanks for the video... I'm about to do my headlights now and you saved me lots of aggravation.

  • @rowdysuzuk Thank you for visiting our auto repair channel on YouTube.

  • What would be the procedure for installing halogen/xenon headlights?

  • @ChaosRIPproof It would be the same. You would need to remove the headlight to service the bulbs. Hope this helps you out. Have a great day.

  • I have this same car but in black. You're videos are PERFECT!! You always have the videos that I need. You're awesome! Keep it up!

  • AHHH thats how you do it!!! i spent easy over an hour trying get it.

  • @1aauto thank you so much for this video. I took my car to a place to have the bulb replaced they told me $70 for the labor. It took me less than 10 mins. They told me they had to remove the bumper!

  • @TheNieceyBear Thank you for checking out our auto repair channel on YouTube. We carry a great selection of parts for your Pontiac Grand AM on our website 1aauto.com

  • Do you have a video showing how to replace the header panel as well?

  • @trademark04 At the current time we do not.

  • great video, i just installed a passenger side headlight i got from 1A Auto (for a freaking fantastic price mind you), it really helped. it also showed me that my ram air dam was supposed to be pinned on top the fascia piece, not the other way around. great job guys, keep up the good work Mike. oh and tell tony he is doing a great job on LS1Tech.com

  • @TransAm7935 Thank you for checking out our YouTube auto repair channel. Tony :)

  • thanks for the video it was big help

  • Hey could you tell me how to remove the thing that covers the radiator in a 2000 pontiac grand am. Saw how you took off the top piece in this video but there is something under that which I need help with.

  • @passcindi1 It looks as though you would need to remove the rest of the cover (like we started to in the video). The you should be able to unbolt it from it's attaching points.

  • Bought a new set for my '04 GAGT from 1aauto because of this wonderful video.

Would recommend marking existing headlights before beginning (I used garage door, putting a piece of tape in center of each). Even after adjusting the screws to the same lengths as old headlights, they were off. The outside screws adjust lenses up-down.

  • How about disabling the Daytime Running Lights?

  • @Pookatube You may want to check the owners manual. One some vehicles there are a series of things that need to be done to disable them.Hope this helps.

  • Thank you sir!

  • @mexchamp Not a problem. Thank you for checking out our Pontiac Grand Am Headlight installation video.Have a great day!

  • Thanks so much!!! I had no idea how to do this before now!!! :)

  • Thanks for posting this and helping me help my neighbor.

  • awesome, when I first looked at the car, I had no idea. Thanks!!

  • You guys are providing a GREAT service.

  • Very Good Video...Thank You!

  • I may have never realized how to get those stupid clips off without this video. thank you!

  • amazing vid, very thorough

  • Video was a big help, thanks :)

  • Wow! THANK YOU! I am a woman who is NOT mechanically inclined in any way shape or form. I called Canadian Tire and they told me it would cost $60 to replace bulb in 2001 Grand Am because its "fairly time consuming". I was like "AS IF". I found this video and changed the bulb in under 20 minutes. Mechanic could probably do it in under 10 minutes. Thanks! You saved me $60

  • Mike, you are the best!I was originally told you have to take the battery out to replace the bulb.I just needed to change the bulb on my car.Glad i saw this great video. Thanks for posting. You saved me a bunch of time, headaches and probabley money. Thanks again.

  • WOW

Great help!! Thanks a ton for posting this!!!! I stared at the thing for an hour and a 10 minute video turned it into a 3 minute job.

  • Same... this was a great help! Thanks again!

  • man this helped me out so much, i spent like 20 minutes trying to figure this out before i decided to look online, haha much simpler than i thought!

  • Beauty ! I use to change mine in my Talon but when I opened the hood to change on my 02 GT, I thought no way. I was pretty frustrated. Really didnt want to take it in and pay like $100 especially since I knew they could do it in 10 to 15 minutes. Rip off. Thank you for this video !

  • I wanted to tell you thank you very much for the video. Somebody ran into my car in a parking lot and did not leave a note. I bought a new headlamp and installed it in 10 minutes!!! Thanks to your video

  • Huge help!! Great job on explaining.

  • very helpful. thank you

  • What are the clips at 1:47 called? Mine are broken and the headlight is loose. I'd love to order from your site if you've got them! Thank you so much for this video!! You're probably saving me $100's!

  • @cgfalconwolf Headlight retaining clips. We do not sell them yet.

  • @1aauto Can we just use zip tie just to keep it from being loose? or is that a bad idea

  • @kolsakfrm503 I would recommend repairing any broken parts so that the headlight fastens to the car as it did from the factory.

  • Thanks for this. I was freaking out last time i changed a bulb... Terribly designed headlights on these GAs.

  • @pontiaclives Glad to help!

  • @1aauto The 97 to 2005 Chevy Malibu and Malibu Classic Headlight removal procedure are basically the same as this Pontiac. Grand Am Just though you and the subscribers would like to know.

  • Thanks so much for this post. I took my car to the garage and they wanted $25 to change the bulb, probably cuz Im a girl. Said forget that, found this video, and I did it myself! And I didnt even mess up my nails! Booyah! Girl power!!! LOL

  • My car and I both thank you.

  • This is a GREAT! Educational video...very detailed and very informative. I have installed several replacement parts on several different vehicles and have always been able to turn to 1aauto for guidance. Thanx for the videos and keep'em coming! Yours Truely,

    mycoolcouch

  • Great video!! great quality, well explained, really easy to follow. It helped a lot

    Thank you soo much

  • Awesome Video guys! I know how to do all of this stuff but this helps many others who want to do it on there own, Keep making the Vids!

  • Yes thank you so much. What a painful design. Job security though lol. Not as simple as they used to be. Worked out just fine.

  • Excellent video! I just wished I had seen this Vid. prior to changing my headlights. I used my worthless haynes manual (just kidding) and it didn't show half the steps you're showing. I really do like haynes manuals , but what a dissapointment on their explanation. I consider myself mechanically inclined, but these have to be the worst headlights to deal with ever.

Thanks, from all us Pontiac Grand Am owners.

  • Excellent just saved me some grief on my daughter's car

  • This video is perfect. Tried using another video to do this and ended up breaking the housing. This one is the A-Z of what to do and how to do it - properly.

  • Thanks. Couldn't make sense of the process from the owner's manual, and then realized how easy it was to get at the bulbs after watching this video.

  • Thanks. I did just as you said and it worked perfectly.

  • thank you so very much for this video this one was so very helpful

  • worked for me, thanks a bunch!

  • Really good video

  • thank for video and tip,, you guys just save me $ 120..

  • Great video, keep up the good work! This video saved me a ton of time and money on my headlight replacement on my Grand Am.

  • Thank You for the instructions

you stopped me from just getting a big hammer and taking them off the caveman way

  • Hey I've gone caveman a few times, that frustration was one motivator in doing these videos.Remember to check out the 1A Auto website for your parts needs!

  • Don't ever remove this from youtube! The best video on changing these lights there is to date (although there aren't many). Your approached, camera work and detail are to be followed. Thank you!

  • Thank You. The feedback is appreciated. We'll do our best to keep it up and improve where we can. Please check out the 1A Auto website for all your parts needs.

  • @Russ4you do what i do, download it to realplayer if not already

  • It took me an hour to replace the headlamp itself back in the day on my 2001 GA GT when I didn't know what I was doing. I remember that day cause it was 10 degrees outside and the wind chill was minus -15
