The watchmen isn't a "movie" it was orginally a graphic novel made into a movie (made by Alan Moore who also wrote V for Vendetta). And it was meant to satire the idea that a nuclear arms race in the 1980's would somehow lead to world peace. It has nothing to do with a "future terrorist" , instead it's more of a cold war reference that the tragedy bring the world together

It was a great graphic novel, i am a fan of Alan Moore, yet i am aware of the symbolism in the film which could be interpreted in many ways to those schooled in codex magica and symbolic aspects of the Illuminati (which of course, is real).
