If you didn't know this was Mozart you could easily mistake it for Hayden.

@HerrWarja If by 'They are very much alike', you mean their music generally speaking similar, then I think we need to quantify this. They both composed in the style of the time, 'Classical' With clear cut melody & harmony and form. But many of Mozart's so called classical works have a greater depth to them than is associated with 'Classical' .

Compare the last move of the 39th a copy of Hayden to the last move of the 40th & 41st . Different worlds

@napsuta That may be true, but only because a person who isn't familiar with one of Mozart's most famous symphonies probably doesn't know much about the nature of either composer.

in the score it is wirtten Andante, the conducter is respecting Mozart indication. Is not too slow. At that time nowone play music, or sing, like today. is not necessary to point you too music history because I'm sure you check it before you comment on this masterpiece :)

well i found the vengerov one way too fast. if andante means "at a walking pace", vengerov must walk very fast usually.
