Thus, CCTV is already an huge cut into your freedom and it gets worse, even though police statistics have shown that CCTV doesn't help anything to prevent crime.
But... would you want to live without CCTVs in this day and age? The same people complaining about CCTVs would plead for their restoration if they were taking away. Society mightn't be so bad if everyone were intellectually equal, but we are not.

This is no longer the case - you can very quickly become (and may already be) a distinct individual to all security people you deal with. If you ever said that "The 911 terrorist might have been horrible people, but calling them cowards is silly," then guess what - you're now on the government's list as an 'undesireable'. Are you ready to receive a speeding ticket every other day? Or what if they contact your bank and tell them you are a suspected terrorist? The bank will close your account.
Of course you do. There is such an over-profusion of laws today that not a day goes by that your average person doesn't break four or five.
This didn't used to be so problematic. Most cops don't care if you speed, but if they saw somebody that looked suspicious, they could pull them over or detain them for any number of reasons. It was a bit of a grey area, and prone to racial profiling, but not a huge problem. You were still mostly anonymous to the government.
If someone tracked my day-to-day activities, they would die of boredom. Problem solved. But the point is, it is physically impossible to install cameras everywhere. I can still piss freely in dark alleys.
The production values were good, but the dialog seemed basic, and not very convincing. The video sort of made it seem like big brother benefits out weighed the risks

forgot to mention that the security systems used to try and keep us safe actually themselves impose a very dangerous threat to your our freedoms and well being if they were ever to be abused or fall into the wrong hands. The potential for the protectors to become criminals themselves is enough justification in my mind to scrap the whole security concept all together. This includes police.

I fail to see how you are giving up your freedom just because a camera tracks where you go. It's not like the camera is restricting your movement. I also fail to see how someone knowing about my fingerprints and color of my eyes is taking away my freedom and how such security benefits are only temporary. i agree to a point. but it's axiomatic that we're going to lose certain freedoms in the name of security. at present whole chinks of our economies are being dictated by criminals and their reach is extraordinary. power and wealth in the hands of criminals and a minority is a toxin being gulped down by society. only 2 in 100 shipping contains gets inspected - there is not enough time/resources.

One problem is, if you know you are watched all the time, you will adjust your behavior to appear unsuspicious and thus have already lost a lot of your freedom. Think about it, you will come up with plenty of examples yourself, I'm certain about that.
Thus, CCTV is already an huge cut into your freedom and it gets worse, even though police statistics have shown that CCTV doesn't help anything to prevent crime.

But... would you want to live without CCTVs in this day and age? The same people complaining about CCTVs would plead for their restoration if they were taking away. Society mightn't be so bad if everyone were intellectually equal, but we are not.
Try educating the uneducated and they will reject it and fight back. They are fearful of new ideas and don't know any better. And to top it all, spreading paranoia makes it even worse.

This is no longer the case - you can very quickly become (and may already be) a distinct individual to all security people you deal with. If you ever said that "The 911 terrorist might have been horrible people, but calling them cowards is silly," then guess what - you're now on the government's list as an 'undesireable'. Are you ready to receive a speeding ticket every other day? Or what if they contact your bank and tell them you are a suspected terrorist? The bank will close your account.

Of course you do. There is such an over-profusion of laws today that not a day goes by that your average person doesn't break four or five.
This didn't used to be so problematic. Most cops don't care if you speed, but if they saw somebody that looked suspicious, they could pull them over or detain them for any number of reasons. It was a bit of a grey area, and prone to racial profiling, but not a huge problem. You were still mostly anonymous to the government.
