I trained with Tocco a few years ago for two months, two sessions a day. It's an awesome academy, he is really friendly and there are some serious guys on the mat and yes the warm ups really are that intense.
@wearegoliath warm ups arent supposed to be intense, its a waste of energy and robs from the main goal of the workout. If a coach doesnt know that,he shouldnt be a coach.
@wearegoliath there both wrong then. The warm up whether its right or not wont make or break a world champ but its always wrong to fatigue someone before working on skill unless those skills are very well learned to the point of being automatic.Every exercise professional or good coach knows that.Tocco is a martial artist, they generally know little about how to train athletes.
@shenzino carlson was great motivator ,bjj coach and fighter,he knew next to nothing about the science of coaching and exercise science, virtually no martial arts coaches do except the few either curious enough to find out or those with a formal education in the field. You can have world champs with a crap warm up or no warm up
Good to see my old mate Rory still training hard; nice video, anyone know the beatie boys remix in the video?

@scarred10 Carlson Gracie himself -maybe the greatest producer of BJJ Champions ever- would have disagreed with you.
