  • I know ArmA is just like VBS 2... why do i want it? because it's not for public?

    >:3

  • Get ARma II and install the SLX mod and the ACE mod,

  • this is a reconstruction of arma 2.

  • 5:03 why we dont have things like this in battlefield 3 :/

  • @bitdinver It would be cool if support could mount their machine gun on an eod bot or something.

  • @bitdinver Because you would get out of your veichle, open the boot and unload the wire and cones and then get killed by an EOD bot you repairs you in the back

  • GRAPHICS SUXXXX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Arma2 > BS2 ?

  • A lot of people don't seem to understand. There are different factors that determines realism. It's not only vision that counts in real warfare. Hearing is very important, the speed of bullets, the tactics you take, stamina control, these are all realistic aspects that are required in a real battlefield. Yet, people call this simulation fake, only because of the graphics, which isn't even the purpose of it. Graphics HELP, but it's not a priority.

  • its pretty much like ArmA 2 with A.C.E

  • @mugenrider754

    No its not

  • BIS need to stop mucking about and just put all this stuff in ArmA 3 :-D

  • looks like arma 2

  • @Mr1234niels1234 it's same engine with ArmA 1, not 2

  • would expect backblast on the AT4 for something with so much detail

  • Arma 2 is a lot closer to this than you might think

  • whats the annoying sound when the people bretah???

  • shit graphics....looking for a hardcore sim, might get ArmA

  • @MrWastedMango arma 2 uses the same game engine as this (jsut made easier to play and minus some of the features in this)

  • It would be cool if you could set up check points like that in ArmA

  • 10,000 kms of enviroment? Thats very very impressive.

  • Nice!

  • How do you get this.Is it out?

  • I wonder how much different this is from vanilla ARMA2? If its used to train solders (including my Aussie brothers) at least I hope the AI isn't as dumb as a brick!!

  • is this better than arma 2?

  • and can we die by lighting? if yes, awesome!

  • i heard from the forums ( not the game's forum but other forums) its written : "NOTE! JCOVE Lite WILL uninstall itself if you wound or kill friendlies during the initial qualification missions. This is a deliberate system. For this reason alone, we recommend backing up your downloaded image either on DVD or on your HDD."

    what the hell lol

  • where could i buy this game?

  • I wish this was more available, But i think its hard to get :( Arma 2 is more of a realistic military game, where this is a total Simulator!

  • i want this!

  • Comment removed

  • soo not for public im guessing. if not is arma 2 arrow head and combat oporations the same in a way??? cause i really really really want something like this

  • @deagle94 u can pick this up for £275....

  • How do the soldiers interface with the game? Do they have a 'weapon' they hold or is it mashing keys like in an FPS?

  • I bet this requires one fucking POWERFUL computer to run at a good framerate

  • I got to train on this while on Annual Training for the National Guard. We were doing mounted and dismounted patrols for IED's. Excellent for crawl phase training in preperation of our deployment to Afghanistan.

  • this looks prety cool! does any one know where i can get it. i searched ebay. amazom. and nothing! also what req does it need?

  • DAM i wanna go to army just to play this

  • This is like a more realistic version of Arma, but the thing is, why does it cost 800 dollars more?! I had half a mind to save up to buy this until I saw the price.

  • VBS 2 for personel use is only $819 not $1250

  • YEAH, I WAT THIS SHIT!

  • is it worth torrenting?

  • holy .. Im too disapointed when i see the whole arms vehicles and other stuff in VBS2. Arma ist just a cheap copy ... or no ... better its the junk of VBS2 at least ArmA is still a simulation game too. One thing interessting here on comments i read often something about BFBC2 ... well how can you start comparing a acarde game (BC2) and VBS2(also ArmA1/2 and OFP1) those games a totaly differnt in two differnt genres so please stop comparing them its sensless!

  • this is better

  • i think badcompany 2 has better sounds and weapon discharge

  • @miko88x2

First of all, this is simulator, you can't compare it in any way with BC2...

Second, while BC2 uses "cool" sounds, VBS2 uses real sounds, recorded from real weapons... They may not sound as good, but that is how it sounds when you record those weapons. While not sounding as cool, it is exactly how it should sound.

In conclusion, VBS is not for entertainment, but for proffesional training.

If you want something similar play Arma. It is made by same people but for entertaiment.

  • I agree to miko88x2 partly, BFBC2 enviroment sounds are more realistic (I am not talking about gun sounds), example: when weapon is fired inside building it sounds more realistic as it would sound in real life, but I mostly agree with you, this is not game, this is learning program.

  • @syso01 your logic is flawed then...

If this is made by the boys who made Arma, then it is a video game and it is sub-par for the modern world of computers. They use basic models without tesselation or surface texture rendering, but instead use low polygon models with a image capture mapped on to it. they've done it with the entire environment. As for the sounds I do agree there more realistic than any other computer simulation/game, BUT there as usual recorded poorly, leading to distortion

  • @syso01 BC2 did use real sound from norwegian army excersises

infact this virtual battlespace sound alot crappier

  • just get arma 2. Same developer only it doesnt cost 1250$

  • How would you buy this game? give a detailed answer please.

  • its not a game^^ its used for military training. but there is also 2 game versions, armed assault 1 and 2.

  • 1250$ For Sale

  • for christ sakes lol the only thing there lacking is the sounds are HORRIBLE MY GOD

  • The sounds are the actual sounds from the real weapons... That is how they actually sound

  • no shit?

  • i said that because somebody said the "sound effects suck" so hop off

  • Incredible.

  • Is VBS a online game aswell???

  • Yes

  • looks awesome

  • Looks like the textures are hand painted. Kinda cool.

  • No its not, its VBS2

  • but it uses the same things as arma, this is just more pro

  • No, this is VBS 2, the professional version of ArmA. 100x more detailed.

  • i thought VBS 2 was more detailed?

  • VBS2 is 1OOx more detailed than ArmA 2 but he cost 1200$ =/

  • Lucky troops

get games better than our normal one lol

  • 1:07 looks like a real video. Terrifying.

  • Its just ACE mod for Arma, but bigger ofc. I could easily come past those $1000.

  • Have you seen all the detail in the vid ?, no mod can match this for arma.

  • is this mulitplayer and like how much does one round last?

  • Yes this is multiplayer. No you'll never get it unless you are lucky enough to work on the team or get to use it in the military. There is a version for civilian use you can buy online through the VBS website. But for the entire game and all mods your looking at well over $1000. Or you can get Armed Assault, which is basically the same game under a different name with less options than VBS.

  • Impressive!

  • *drool*

  • Actually it costs like 500$ ... A longtime ago it did cost 1800$ but now the personal edition which is for the public costs 500$ or so.

  • I love the "environmental destruction" part

  • As close as you'd want to get to real war lol

  • how do u get it??

  • Go in military (Canada,USA,UK) use it, so you have the choice. If you want the civilian version search Armed Assault or Operation Flash Point (use the VBS engine). But the problem with civil version you don't have the exactly equipment and a cheap map editor, the military version have 200+ different weapon, a lot of equipment and realistic bullet impact.

  • arma2 is coming out soon though right?

  • I don't know

  • Yes.

  • this is wwiiol superdeluxe !

    looks very nice

  • What's the difference between VBS1 and VBS2? Besides the obvious graphics change and improved animations? They both seem really good simulators none the less.

  • this is a warfreak's dream.

  • the computer able to run this game costs less than the simulator <_< no joke

  • to me this looks excatley like ArmA with a ton of addons..but im problby wrong

  • 10000 sq. km! Holy fuck!

  • wtf...How come ArmA doesn't have a lot of these features?!

    Seriously, I want a chinook.

  • Because this isn't for consumers, this is for governments. Most computers actually couldn't handle a ton of the features that are in the game.

  • Well not many computers can handle ArmA fullstop, any PC that could handle ArmA adequately should theoretically run VBS2 just as fine.

  • In theory, yah. I have a computer that can run crysis at 40 frames a second, but arma at 20. Crysis is set to very high at my native res of 1680x1050. So in theory, yes, in practice, no.

  • I think the reason for the cost for this "game" is the extensive support the VBS- part of BIS have to give to their customers.

Pretty sure I read it somewhere, but I could be wrong.

  • Well yeah, BIS devotes a ton of time to the military sales. They do quite well, also. The military does get some special treatment. But also, if you watched all of the videos, you can see how much additional programming is included, and how many extra features there are to VBS2, you can understand why the cost is so high. $1000 might be pushing it in my opinion, but governments will pay that much.

  • the program is on sale.

the price is between 1500 and 2000 u$s.. no joke..

  • were can i get this game

  • hehe the game is like 1000$

  • lol 1000 game how much is the computer to run it that the better question haha.

  • Looks good, when is Bohemia studios going to release this as a multiplayer game format. The graphics arn't too dissimilar to their recent ArmA series. It would be nice if they could better implement TrackIR in the games, I'm surprised the Army version doesn't use this (maybe it does?).

  • TrackIR is supported in VBS2.

  • is this already for public use?

  • If only this were cheaper and could run on a more standard pc

  • it can if the entire map isn't rendered at once. it uses the same engine as Arma, but the price is actually reasonable considering who their customers are.

  • fair enough, but ArmA is hardly a small game to run. and I don't expect it to be cheap because it isn't designed for gamers. but still it would be nice

  • aww i dont think my pentium 4 will play this!

  • I think the question is how hardcore your graphics card is! and how good internet conection you have when playing on such large battlefields!

But I hope this battle simulator will be available for regular people not just the army.

  • But then Iraqi insurgents will use it aswell lollll

  • This is, quite possibly, the hardest core FPS ever made.

  • What weapon is that at 42 seconds. I dont think ive ever seen one.

  • A VHS .36 Caliber High-Standard semi automatic scoped rifle.

  • AUG

  • Steyer aug?

  • yea bullpup shit dawg

  • No. Armed Assault (essentially the same, minus the military usage) may come out on consoles in the future.

  • some of it I can see is very reminecent of Operation Flashpoint, for example: the sound occlusion, I can remember vivdly hearing helicopters along time before they arrived.

  • VBS2 is based off of ArmA: Combat Operations, which you can buy for $30 from Steam. ArmA is by the same company that made Operation Flashpoint.

  • Does the military actually use this for training ? Considering the cost of the VBS programs dont know who else would pay such a price.

  • Yes military uses this

  • Damn that guy breathes really loud.

  • I have ArmA, is it possible to make it look like this? And is it possible to make the weapons handle more like they were in OFP?

  • yes u need change config.pbo

  • Question, will a Barrett now be able to take down a helo like it's made to?

  • For starters, those rifles are not "made" to "take down a helo".

Second, the damage model is identical to ArmA's.

  • i wish some one would mod arma so the tracers and shit looked good, i wish i was a nerd.

  • The 6th Sense ArmA tracers look good. You should check them out.

  • do they do that cool divng thing?. they look so good, especially at night

  • u know how much this game costs... $1500 thats like £800. i think ill stick to call of duty 4 and arma thanks

  • It's not a game, it's a tool for military training. It's not meant to be played "as a game" or by gamers. ArmA is for that, and ArmA is only $30 or so.

  • I know it is not a game but I still wanna play :)

  • great work

  • All I want is a good helicopter simulator. Longbow II with updated graphics for today. To bad EA bought out Janes and dismantled it.

  • read up on DCS: Black Shark!

  • This looks slightly better than ArmA, but all the people still have the same ugly face! Is this a rework of ArmA, or the other way around?

  • It's basically an offshoot of ArmA.

  • Man i'd love to have this lol, to bad it costs 1500 dollars :( :p

    Do you have it Dslyecxi?

  • I work as a scenario designer for a company that uses it, yes, but I don't play it at home.

  • Hey can you tell me.when i place stuff in the editor(objects)they are never thear where i dropped them and when placing troops if i place em randomly they will all be in a line when played.how do i fix this?

  • For troops, if they're a group, they will automatically return to formation when the mission starts. If you want to place individuals, you have to place them as single soldiers. Not sure what you mean by your object question, though.

  • when i place troops (says a bluefor rifleman then a bluefor sniper) they automatically group together how do i stop that.can i make it so they join up at mission start so they are in different places . usnt there a waypoint for that.

thanks for the help. have oyu made and scenarios for arma? or just vbs

  • I focus on VBS scenarios. I'd suggest you check out ofpec dot com for ArmA scenario tutorials and such. They have forums as well that can help point you in the right direction.

  • Don't or can't?

  • Don't. I have the option, I just would rather play ArmA. I run a large ArmA group and the MP gameplay in that is far superior to the non-existent MP "community" in VBS2.

  • so this is not a game for PC, XBOX or PS3 but it's a trainer for the US Army?

  • The game ArmA: Combat Operations (aka Armed Assault) is basically a civilian version of VBS2. You can look at other videos on my Youtube channel for examples of what ArmA is like.

  • If there was a God he would make VBS2's tracers come to Armed Assault :(

  • They'll be in ArmA2.

  • Oh my god, really? Well, that just solidified my decision to purchase it. As good as 6thSense's tracers are, those VBS2 tracers are just amazing. Thanks for the 411 ;)

  • I see why this costs over $100!!!!!

  • it costs $1500

  • thats insane... you better be able to run and reload at the same time, thats the only reason ArmA gives me ulcers.

  • Hey wait a minute but the game is better than battlefield because there are even more things to follow. Very very cool when can we buy it? Is it for everyone?

  • Search for "armed assault", it's the civilian version of VBS2.

  • The worst thing about it is the choppers they dont fly properly like battlefield 2. The rotor animation is not very good thats the only bad thing. Everything about it is perfect tho.

  • Project reality should look like this :P>

  • You must need a supercomputer to play this.

  • Dude, you don't 'play' this. This is a serious military simulation application used to train actual soldiers. This is NOT for civilians, unless you can cough up $1500.

  • Or you can just pay $39 for Armed Assault and get basically the same thing.

  • Is vbs1 for sale anyways?

  • Man, the forests in this look so impressive. SpeedTree never fails to make my jaw drop.

  • It's not SpeedTree.

  • Ah, well it looks kinda like it. I only recently realized that games could have trees like that that AREN'T SpeedTree, I guess I'm behind the times...

  • yeah its expensive, how much is vbs 1 and where can i get it?

  • Buy ArmA instead - $40 or less.

  • i as about to but i am going to wait for arma 2

  • ArmA2 probably won't be out for a year - might as well check out ArmA1 while you wait.

  • i got operation flashpoint on the xbox is that as good as arma??

  • No, Operation Flashpoint is the previous game. ArmA has a lot of features and improvements over Operation Flashpoint.

  • Do you recommend getting ArmA 2 or OFP 2 when they come out of course.

  • I'll be getting ArmA2 regardless. OFP2 is by an as-yet-unproven team, and it's way too early to say whether it will be a good game or not.

  • its only available to the military or police and shit like that. i might get arma instead

  • 1,802$ 0_- !!!??
