  • in a way how lucky Dodd was because he had a parents that loved him and he loved them back. Not many children have that luck...

  • crying

  • bobby was the greatest

  • A great tribute made with great love.

  • tears

  • I honestly never thought he was good looking and being a big Sandra Dee fan - at the time - in 1960 - I was so disappointed that she married Bobby Darin and not someone better looking like Troy Donahue.

But I was 16 then. Now, looking back - Bobby Darin looks very good to me. Funny how our taste can change.

Back in the 60's - physical features mattered. Nose had to be small and perfect or you just were not considered good looking. No lie. That's just the way it was back then.

  • An unforgettable moment. Bobby Darin deserves it. Ovunque tu sia Bobby, tu devi essere felice di avere un figlio che continua ad amarti e a commuoversi quando parla di te. E' questo qualcosa di splendido. We all miss you Bobby.

  • Dodd is such a class act. Bobby would be so damn proud of him, and his gorgeous girls and wonderful wife. Congratulations Dodd and Dad, and Darin fans. So well deserved. This is sweet.

  • Very touching and well deserved.

  • Did I hear wrong? Did he say, "He wasn't particularly good looking." Huh? Bobby was hott!

  • I thought this was weird as well.

He was a good looking man.

  • @Pegbur Bobby didn't think he was good looking. I think Bobby was very sexy. His personality was magnetic, and his on stage talent was infectious!

  • @apollowoman I agree with you about his looks! He wasn't classic matinee idol, but by today's standards, which appreciate a wider range of looks and more interesting looks, he was great looking. He was ahead of his time.

  • For those too young to remember, Bobby Darin was the highest paid, most celebrated nightclub performer of his era. He was a combination of Frank Sinatra & Ray Charles, but with a suave and cool that was uniquely Darin. He had a genius IQ and unsurpassed wit and charm. Both Sammy Davis, Jr. and Wayne Newton called him "the greatest nightclub singer in the business." Had he lived, he would have been an icon to four generations of fans---his appeal was that all-encompassing. RIP to a legend.

  • Bobby Darin won numerous Grammy awards, Golden Globe awards, Cannes Film Festival Awards; was nominated for an Academy Award. He is a member of ASCAP Hall of Fame, the R&R Hall of Fame; has stars on the Las Vegas and Hollywood Walks of Fame. He mastered rhythm and blues, rock, folk, jazz, blues, C&W, etc., and had hits in each of those musical genres. No other singer before or since has accomplished this feat. Now he finally got his Lifetime Achievement Award. It's about time.

  • Great job with the timing on this. Dodd's words match the video! My comments however are on Laura's page since she was first to post the live feed event! I'll continue to watch and rewatch at least 37 times since that's how many years I've been waiting for this award!
