Considering all the rendering that goes into these FMVs, I'd say this aint a goof. He also glows mysteriously, leading me to believe this sending is affecting/bringing out his questionable existence. Also the close-up shot preceding the final one suggests HIS ghost-ish perspective on things as he's hypnotically drawn closer to the coffins/pyreflies. nice touch!

You're either really really young or really flippin old or have been living under a rock or do not play any rpg based games if you're unfamiliar with final fantasy.
