Shíl mé go mbeadh sé suimiúl scríobh anseo i mo theanga féin. Bhí mé ábalta do halt a thuiscint toisc go bhfuil Gaeilge (ó Éire) agam. Gaeilge na hAlbainne atá agat, an bhfuil an ceart agam? An dtuigeann aon Albannach é seo?
Wow - just discovered this one! Very spare, precise and quite fascinating. I agree - I think it will grow on me with repeated listenings. It really showcases the language itself, more than most songs, I think. (No, I don't speak the language).
Every piece in this series is a gem, I think. The musicians created a unique magic in these gatherings.
She wasn't well at the time and it's a wonder she managed to do it all. Singing in sean nòs style doesn't require dramatic dynamics like we see in classical music or pop songs. The words express all the feelings required (this fact is lost on many who don't understand sean nòs).
I am mesmerized by the language and the song. the only gaelic I've encountered is whatever Enya sings....this is great.

Cén teanga é seo? Tá sé ar nós Gaeilge ach tá ag ceapadh gurb as Albain í Margaret Stewart. Bhfuil an ceart agam?
(What language is this? It's a bit like Irish so I'm guessing Margaret Stewart is Scottish. Am I right?)

Hallo,
It's Scots Gaelic (gaidhlig) but some of the words look misspelt.

Thanks for commenting. Whilst not many people have commented - I think this is a little gem that grows on you the more you hear it.
