I have listened...and I mean really listened to music for many years. I'd have to say this is perhaps the greatest song that hardly anyone has ever heard.
I was a waitress in a concert bar in Dayton, Ohio around 1990 and Cliff played there. I was so blown away! I bought his video tape of the Long Road and played it until it wore out. I was so lucky I found it at a Half Price Books in
San Antonio, TX since it is apparently out of print now.

Cliff's music is piercing ot the soul. "The long Road" is one of the finest written songs of the last 20 years of folk music. Thank you for posting a version. Write to Windham Hill and demand the re-release of the CD.

This is such a good soft song. It so sad but so happy! I love listening to this and In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel.

The song is excellent, and adding Richie Havens takes it several notches higher. This song has helped me through some tough times emotionally.
