To answer your question: The Fray wrote this song "Be the One" on February 13, 2009. The song was written in the space of 24 hours. Q had asked the band to write a love song for the occasion of Valentine's Day. The demo version of the song was released worldwide on the band's official website on November 11, 2009.

@WeBeliebs i think it is kinda sad. to me it sounds like this song is about him and a girl who never got the timing right. it seems like she liked him first "i never saw it like you did, didn't know that it was there" and then i think the lyrics on most pages are wrong because the more i listen to it it sounds like the next line is "you don't see it in your *head, *its in the air" but i could be wrong. so it seems like now he wants her. and if that's what its about i think most people can relate
