Rogers LG Xenon Review

I've had this phone for 5 years, and I want to switch so bad. All I can say for it is that its durable. I've dropped this phone countless times. I even threw it on the floor on purpose to see if it would break. No, it didn't. It is very durable. Other then that, there is nothing more I can say about this phone except that texting is easy. I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone, maybe to the average texter who just texts and calls their friends.

Hey guys, please read what I have to say. I read all the reviews about this phone for one year and i got this phone. It was working really fine. I thought those bad reviews i read were fake or i thoti was a luky one. aft 5 months of using, i started getting problems. to list: touch screen, dials wrong #, txt msgs tkes 5 min to go though if not it never goes through, receiving text msgs after 4 hrs and no out going calls..ran into some1 who had same phone and guess what! she had same problems.

This phone is a piece of garbage. No its not still available not at my rogers store itsd discontinued. I had contact screwed up email accounts deleted and red bar across top of screen froze shuts of on me. This is like the 5 phone like this refurbished crap i always get from lg.. I know how to switch the networks from 3G to 2G

for all the rest of u people having problems wit this phone, u must have a defective model, mine works perfect here!! the only problem i find is when i text sometimes i have to keep re-sending over and over till the text gets sent, but i found it was cuz my signal wasnt always at 100%, overall i havent had too many problems so far, had the phone for almost 2 years now, im thinkin about upgradin to a Samsung Galaxy S2 or the iphone 5 whenever that comes out lol!!

the touch screen is terrible . buttons are way too crammed. I find myself resetting the phone a lot due to the fact it locks up on me. I will never buy a Goldstar product again!

I wouldn't get this. It's a resistive touchscreen which feels slow and you need to firmly press on the screen to get it to register. Just get something like the Samsung Gravity which has button navigation and no touchscreen. The camera is crappier and the screen is smaller, though it's more reliable.

@iReallyHateBees im with you on that one, personally i would go with this one, i know ur on fido, while they both have qwertys, i like this one better, this one has a flash, better battery life, but the gossip is probaly more likely to last longer, im not sure between this one, sasmung gravity touch, samsung forever or the INQ Chat 3G, im with rogers ad they have a sad amount of decent texting, low cost phones

@cunninjona Ahh, it frezzes up, but rarely, as for it screwing up, because its heat touch, your finger could accidentaly touch something you didnt mean too, but other than that it works great!

@Aerosmithfan507 I think the Xenon is better than the Surge. Looks nicer anyway. The Xenon's camera is only 2.0 MP, which is decent but not great.

I've heard nothing but great things about the LG Eve though (and I talk to cell phone users on a regular basis at my job), if you're looking for a smart phone, I'd go with the Eve.

I was hopeing to return this phone for the xenon or something close, i would love the eve, but i am only 13 so the data plan would be expensive, but since it has wifi, i dont think that would be a big problem, is there any other QWERTY phones u would reccomend for me? i prefer either LG, Samsung or like hTC but i am in canada, and im not sure where u are so, if ur in the U.S

@Aerosmithfan507 I'm with Rogers too, I actually sort of work for them, so I know a bit about most of their phones :) Not a fan of the Flight, it looks a bit awkward. I've heard nothing but terrible things about the LG Neon, so avoid that phone. For just Qwerty phones I would say the Nokia Surge or Xenon would be good bets. LG Eve if you want a smart phone, but like you said the data makes the price go up a bit. But it's an amazing phone.

@Aerosmithfan507 I personally have the Xenon and love it. Have had no problems with it in terms of freezing or anything (had the phone since Feb of this year, keep in mind). But it's great for an easy-texting phone. Only complaint is the A key is really close to Mobile Mail on the keyboard, but nothing you can't live with.

the phone would be great if u have the data plan cause most of the applications need internet. if u get it from rogers u can get gps if u get it from bell u get live tv. but ya its ok. try gettin a smart phone it has everything u need.. but u need data plan, check out the new blackberry torch

1. it freezes and cuts off ocasionally

2. it has a horrible touch screen, almost like touching pastic

I have this, I got it about 2-4 days ago. I got use to it pretty fast, so far it's been pretty good. The only thing I don't like is that I have it in blue & I hate the color of the bottom tabs because it doesn't go well with the color of my phone. :P Let's hope it stays that way.

i've used this phone for a month now, and its not that great of a phone, it gets by but theres many flaws

1. its a txt phone but can only store 200 texts

2. the phone freezes quit a bit, happened to me occasionally and there has been complaints of that prob too from other users

other than that, its quite a simple and basic phone, i wouldnt recommend it tho
