Rumor has it this Batman like its previous movies (Begins based off of 1yr one, TDK based off of Dark Halloween) will be based off of PREY Hugo Strange is the Main Nemesis in this graphic novel I think Dead Shot also makes an appearance Talia Al Ghul (obviously Ra Al Ghul's daughter) Is Bruce's Main Love interest so Strange is a strong possibility as the bad guy in this movie and personally they should make this the last movie honestly they shouldn't drag it on...

@BIGBMH I haven't read PREY either but I read the synopsis it doesn't live up too Long Halloween or Year One, it seems kinda blahhh, and to be frank Strange is such a bland character there's no depth to him like mainstream villains (Joker, Riddler, Penguin, Freeze) other then the fact that he's obsessed with both Batman and Wayne, I.D.K rumor has it Tom Hardy who got a part in the movie may play Strange but I don't see it other rumors say he may play DeadShot or Black Mask but who knows???

One major concern i have with this movie is how the story got switched up when Ledger died, i'm sure that took a spin out of the story since they decided to write his character out(for the time being). I worry only because i LOVED how The Dark Knight ended, and the reason i wanna see the 3rd so much is because of that ending and how the story will continue, with the Joker out, i'm worried that they're gonna go a different direction. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it still worries me.

In the comics I like the fact that Joker is always the wild card and villains often turn to him and negotiate with a psychopath as a last resort, often Joker completely bamboozling them with no regards. And the fact that sometimes Batman has to visit his arch nemesis in Arkham leading to interesting conversation between the two. I was just thinking, wouldn't it be nice if there was such a scene in TDK Rises? Even if it was a minor role, I would love to see another actor portray Joker for this...

I'm glad that Nolan again avoided using "Batman" in the title; however it has parallels to "Batman Begins". "Batman Begins" was his birth, "The Dark Knight" mentally and publicly killed Batman. "The Dark Knight Rises" will be about him being reborn.

I was rooting for the Riddler actually. (check out BIGBMH's take on Batman part 3) I know that's kind of what everybody was thinking, but I had a clear vision of how I wanted to see him done and I think it could have turned out very well.

@BIGBMH yeah, I like all of his films. My favorite by him though, is Inception. That was amazing. You know it's a good movie when you come out questioning your reality, right? Some people say it was too confusing, but I saw it and it was easy to understand for me. I guess people are used to a semi- plotless beat em' up. All of Nolan's films are intelectual, and he's my favorite director. I think he has a long career ahead of him, and grammies, hopefully.

@sinister789456 I'm pretty sure the Bullock thing is a rumor. If he is Bullock, i highly doubt he's the villain. People just jumped to the conclusion that he was playing the movie's villain. The way I see it, Bullock would lead the police in their hunt for Batman. In a way, he's be an antagonist, but not the villain. Bullock has been a good guy for most of his recent history. He was corrupt in the comics before that, but I don't think he was ever a major villain.

I could see Bullock wanting to catch Batman because he, like the rest of the police, believe he killed Dent, so in a way contrasting Gordon's efforts to help Batman. But that sucks. Riddler was the only other major villain. It's a cointoss now. Do we go the route of going organized crime like Penguin, Black Mask, ect. or do we go extremist like Mad Hatter or Hush. I hate when people do this. They get disappointing news then start forcing themselves to like it. The title is lame and the Riddler is the most obvious good choice for the villian, but Nolan is doing a George Lucas and going against the grain. Heaven forbid the fans were right about the villian being the Riddler. Now who will it be? He made sure to kill off Dent. There will be no Penguin, Croc's or Mr Freezes. my guess on the main villian would be Black mask; he's a big enough force to take on batman. from there we would have two villians wearing a mask (batman can sort of be considered a villian since gotham's on the hunt for him) . i think they could play minor theme with that. minor villians possibly scarecrow. also, if it is black mask then he might have his own team of criminals. killer croc is a rumor and im having trouble placing him in the film.

i think its the perfect title., it stays in line of the way that Nolan tell a subtle tale of batman; thats his greatest advantage in keeping the characters more identifible...

@Dangerous2099, ehh...i'm not too sure about that. that's just taking the nick name and adding more to it so it's a little bit more descriptive. The Dark Knight Rises probably has to do with the plot of the movie.

@BIGBMH Well, the Dark Knight Detective is also one of Bats' nicknames and that title would have been really well suited to the film if it's going to be more detective based. Glad they are not using Riddler tho, it would have been a bit too samey with the previous franchise. They should use another lesser known villain and build him up. Black Mask or Dead shot would be cool. Nice T shirt.

Good title. It obviously follows up on the end events of TDK. Batman is probably going to be hunted down by the police and a supervillain until he regains his status. To bad on the Riddler though, I was hoping he would be a detective hunting down Batman, but maybe that could go to someone like Bane or Deadshot. Batman already went through the mindgames in TDK anyway.

It's also going to bank on TDK's name and goodwill.

I think Dark Knight Rises is a suitable title; Batman was'nt refered to as The Dark Knight until the very end of the film. So now we'll witness the rising of the Dark Knight.

@BIGBMH I agree, like if you look at the endings of both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight and see the way the titles show at the end they really suit the story. Another interesting thing is the number of words involved. BB=2 words, TDK=3 words, TDKR=4 words
