It wasn't so much the damage that they needed 11, just that they built them for specific tasks... One went insanely fast (part in the flood overflow channel), a few were built for jumps, one was built for superior handling, another for going fast in reverse, a few with minor to major damage for show, a few for in-car shots (many did not even have an interior) and so on... The original only needed 1 because it was built like a tank, they just did minor repairs onsite...

@doritostheking Yep they sure did, and the later build UP cars actually had the fixes installed. The fixes do help with the cars driveability. Some of the improvements included XFI 8 stack EFI and the super snakes are much more reliable and have more power to boot.
