Although "Dallas" made a couple of mistakes over 14 years (trying to re-cast Miss Ellie, dismissing one mediocre years as a "dream") it remains the most successful drama show in global TV history. Ever. And it brought "soap" (e.g., cliffhangers, serialized plotting, villains in key roles) to nighttime TV, changing the medium forever... Today, all genres --- even the reality shows --- have been effected by those innovations brought by "Dallas" (for better or for worse !!)

I have every season on dvd....I'm 14 and my friends have NO idea what this show is. I was suppose to go to the recently passed reunion but I couldn't makeit. I was disappointed. I have a Who Shot Jr t-shirt that I proudly wear :-)

The real city of Dallas is a bunch of hicks gathered together from desert hick towns...mixed in with Mexicans who couldnt hack it in their own country. Losers with losers. Add the blacks in the south side ghettos and you have Dallas....trailer park trash.

I lived there for 8 months.

But then, the Ewings didn't live in Dallas proper.

What a great show--the first true night soap--and a phenomenal cast. Dallas the city was a small town back then, but like the show, it has grown, and now, like the show, has a true personality. GREAT CAST, and nice to know that most are still friends.
